Diner Reviews
  • "The food was delicious. The manager and wait staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely return. Feels like we found a "find.""

  • "From the time we walked in the door (we had a group of 7) we were treated as though we were guests in their home. The food was amazing, the service impeccable and we can't wait to go back!"

  • "We were very excited about having a nice restaurant in the Chamblee area. The service was warm and friendly, but the food was not exceptional. The kitchen was real busy so it took a while for our food to come out. Perhaps on a day when the kitchen is less busy, the food will be a lot better. Even though we did not think the food was exceptional we are still hopeful and we do plan to return to try things out again."

  • "Becoming our weekly go out dinner spot. The food is really good. The staff is friendly. We had tomatoes from the restaurants private UHk garden - drizzled with brown butter and some other items the chef harvested from it. It was delicious and nice to see restaurants want your biz. Peaches with bacon & Pear quesadilla was equally welcomed. Our whole experience, was really good!"

  • "Have been here multiple times now and never leave disappointed. From the food to the always friendly staff I never leave dissappointed. It's a smaller space, but has a great intimate feel. The food is incredible (fried chicken, salmon burger, serloin burger, stuffed dates, and bacon wrapped peaches are some of our favorites). Last time we were in, the chef sent out tomatoes from the garden in the back and chatted for a few minutes. My husband and I love talking with him. He and the rest of the staff know us by name now and always make us feel at home. We bring new friends in and everyone has a great time! I would ABSOLUTELY reccomend to anyone!"

  • "I have heard about this restaurants fried chicken. I love fried chicken, and this fried chicken was moist, and crunchy crunchy. My husband had the mofongo burger with blue fries and he said it was the best burger he has ever had. He said it was better than Flip Burger boutique. White gazpacho was also delicious. The staff is very attentive and put up with our loudness throughout the dinner. Will come back."

  • " Here is a restaurant where the chef has a great menu offering lots of different things. Cuban smoked pork, mofongo burgers, pear quesadilla, bacon wrapped peaches, country risotto, peanut ribs are some of the things we all ordered at our table. And the churros totally reminded me of a trip we went to in Venezuela. All dishes were very good and service was fantastic and we didn't have to endure eating some offal meat. This place should be listed in Atlanta's top 10 restaurants places to eat."

  • "We have been here twice and enjoyed both visits. Very friendly and attentive staff! Had a great cuban style burger on one visit and the fried chicken on the other visit. Both were delicious! We also shared a plate of salmon sliders with our companions. Paired with martinis they were a great way to start the evening!"

  • "This is by far the worst restaurant in Atlanta - don't go. Service staff from bartender to wait staff were not trained and NOT knowledgeable at all about the restaurant or menu. The food was average at best and not described well at all for what you get. Because this is a local restaurant, we wanted to give constructive feedback to the owner/chef, but he wouldn't have it. He was rude, defensive and overall a JERK. He basically kicked us out of the restaurant with me in tears. NEVER go to this restaurant unless you want a terrible experience and want to leave hungry."

  • "This is our go to place at the end of the week and are here at least once a week. Our friends we have taken there enjoy it a lot. The service is excellent, the food is wonderful and the chef at times came out and chatted with us for a bit. Very passionate about cooking and food. The service staff is great. My new fave cocktail is the sunset martini. Try the bacon wrapped peaches or the tomato, watermelon and poppy seed salad if the chef has it as a special - it is Very very good! While we visited the chef brought us some puffed garlic crackers with smoked pork and tarragon tomatoes - not on the menu or a special but we are glad we were one of the lucky ones to taste it."

  • " This is a real local restaurant owned & operated only by a chef - no biz partners, no investors. That means no politics when it comes to food. The menu has an array of New American & well executed classics. The setting is an old 1950's remodeled garage. This young chef takes seemingly simple food ie. skinless boneless fried chicken, tomato with basil, balsamic & puts out complex flavors that don't leave you. Mint for mojito's are harvested from thier garden at the moment. Mizette the bar tender makes them to order according to the maniacle's chefs direction. Try one. The servers are knowledgable though there's always new servers there. Great wine list from 31$ bottles to 150$. Prices are reasonable from $15 -$24 per entree."

  • "The chef behind Union Hill Kitchen is an Atlanta stand-out. The dishes he prepares are fun and inventive takes on traditional American and Caribbean classics. Everyone should try this restaurant. Every table was raving about their food, and I can't think of when I've eaten somewhere that the patrons were so excited and impressed by the food that they were sharing with other tables. I can't wait to go back. There's so much to try!"

  • "We were delighted with our dining experience at Union Hill Kitchen - a rising star in Chamblee. Quite a contrast to the hustle and bustle of Brookhaven but still a menu packed with great choices. We started with a couple of cocktails, including a Chamblee Shaker. For our entrees we had a HUGE salmon burger with tasty fries and scallops on risotto. We plan to become regulars and suggest you check it out too!"

  • "Went there expecting a small neighborhood restaurant, but we were blown away by the inventiveness of the menu and quality of execution. We made an evening of small plates in lieu of entrees, and were not disappointed. Apparently a large table (14 top) was seated directly before we were, which immediately overwhelmed the kitchen. Our initial order took probably 40m or so to come out, but things smoothed out after that (and we were not rushed). The Chorizo-stuffed figs were outstanding (maybe a little heavy on the bacon and tomato); they belong on the must-order list."

  • "The food is really fantastic. Half the menu is gluten free. While I don't have a gluten allergy, I really enjoyed the gluten free flat bread pizza. "

  • "Two of my friends and I decided to try Union Hill Kitchen for a birthday celebration. The staff is very friendly. The drinks were good and the food was delicious. They had a stuffed date appetizer that is out of this world good. We also tried the pear quesadilla and the bruschetta. Dinner was scallops, their burger and the smoked cuban pork. All really good. Highly recommend this place. Nice to see a restaurant in the area that is not a chain."

  • "I am so happy that Chamblee has a nice restaurant now! I loved the space and while the menu was limited it was good. I feel like they could work on the service just a little. It took way too long to get our drinks especially considering how few people were there. But I know it is a new restaurant and they are just trying to get the hang of things. I will be back and can't wait to try the BBQ ribs."
