We do our best to accommodate most dietary needs - celiac, vegetarian, and heart healthy.
We are celebrating our 30th anniversary all year long, partnering with the Edmonton Food bank with our dollar a diner program and giving everyone who orders our regularly priced prix fixe menu a 30 in 30 certificate ($30 off a regularly priced entree within 30 days).
Order a la carte or prix fixe (tapas, any starter, sorbet, any entree, any dessert) at $70 per guest. Arrive by 6pm (and if your table is available for rebooking by 7:30 pm, that price becomes an amazing $55)

Diner Reviews
  • "Really good food. Take advantage of early dining prices."

  • "We normally head here a couple times a year and I do believe only once were we ever disappointed. Meal on Saturday was excellent and service was great. Never walk out stuffed but always satisfied."

  • "This was our first visit to Unheard Of. We found the dining experience to be very average. The portebello mushroom apetizer was tasty, as was the small bowl of mushroom soup. We found the main dish to be very average though. The tenderloin was not overly tender. The salmon was ok, but nothing special. Overall the food did not match the price tag. The ambience was ok but you could tell not much updating had been done in the last 30 years. Lots of people in the restaurant although the average age was about 70. Maybe they are catering to more of a senior crowd who are nostalgic for the old days."

  • "Took my parents for their 59 wedding anniversary - we were well looked after and my parents enjoyed it very much - the food was fantastic - would definetely go back"

  • "My husband and I were on our date night when we came to un-heard of. The first thing I noticed was how dirty the walkway to the door was with cigarette butts and garbage. Seeing the garbage had alarmed me but as soon as I walked in the door I was pleasantly surprised. The interior was clean and decorated in lovely antiques. The first thing my husband and I did when we were seated as close the blinds so the dirty exterior didn't take from the beautiful interior. The service as good, the food was delicious and dessert was yummy. The only down side was we ordered a bottle of Moscato wine and it was the last bottle with no other moscato available. Overall we had a wonderful evening and the food did not disappoint."

  • "Although my husband and I love the food at the Unheard Of, the impeccable service is nearly as much a draw for us. The care and solicitude to patrons, attention to detail and obvious love of good food and ability to explain what goes into every item on the menu is impressive. This is service we don't see anymore and no longer expect, but what a treasure when we find it. The food is simply outstanding."

  • "I felt the price was very high it was close to $200 when we all said and done and really the food wasn't that flavorful or impressive for that price in my opinion. I felt it lacked almost bland to me.....I say if price was a bit more reasonable it be a nice place for sure but really I felt for $$$$ we expected more. Desserts seemed dry to, not really fresh...."

  • "Food was fine but over prized. Services were ok not really professionally with the way they charged for the food."

  • "This is a place that I have wanted to try out for many years and finally did our first visit...Wow...I took my husband there for his birthday. The seafood bisque was truly the best he had ever had. he said he would go back and just have the bisque by itself, maybe even two bowls of it....and he has never said anything like that before :) The service was incredible. what a great team, knowledgeable, friendly and professional and appeared to work very well together. All the food was great. Definitely on my favourites list."

  • "My husband and I have been attending this restaurant for a few years and like to take guests out with us to share an amazing food experience. We have NEVER been disappointed and neither have our guests."

  • "This is a nice little restaurant with really good food. The decor is terrible and highly outdated. My husband and I shared the ravioli for an appy which was amazing! I could have eaten ten plates of that and nothing else. I had the lobster which was also very good, nice light curry flavour. My husband had the ginger steak, which he enjoyed but I found too strong on the ginger side. Dessert was really nice too. I had the turtle tart and my husband had the chocolate lava cake. No complaints with either!"

  • "Great food. Kind people. Super experience overall. They were only 2 waiters for the entire restaurant so it made the service a little slow. If you are not in a hurry, the wait is totally worth it. The quality of the food and its presentation were just amazing."

  • "My Wife and I decided to reserve here for my Birthday after having heard many good things about the restaurant. We were not disappointed at all. The food was exception, the service was top notch, and we had a wonderful time out. I highly recommend trying it out."

  • "salt was the main flavour, the vegetarian option was nice on paper but sadly difficult to get through half when in the flesh. maybe we've been spoiled elsewhere and we moved to the neighbourhood (and AB) and thought we'd celebrate our double birthday week with this 34 year institution...but alas. "fair" overall, mainly bc of the food. potato latke with braised tomatoes and salty something'rather for $30, hummm. duck was passable but nothing extraordinary. the cesar drink was good however. wine list looked good, didn't indulge."

  • "If you are looking for a place to take your significant other that will be memorable for food and ambience this is the place. Premium western menu, great wine and service. It's not cheap but it really is top tier! This is the place for anniversaries, valentines and special occasions!"

  • "some of the reviews I read on Open Table prior to going to unheard of made me wonder if I had made a bad decision, never having eaten at this place before. After having dined there I can say that everything is top notch, the food is very well prepared, the service is professional and attentive and the décor is warm and inviting with just a little bit of eclectic. I would definitely come back again, on this night there were only 2 other couples in the place so some aspects may be different on a busier night."

  • "Overall a lovely place to dine for a special occasion or just some great good. The Lobster Curry was a little salt. We also had the Cheese Board for dessert. I was a tad disappointed that they served store bought Melba with the fabulous cheese?"

  • "A good place to have a quiet dinner with your significant other."

  • "We went for dinner and the menu on open table is not the menu they have there. Being a vegetarian and only having one option, this was disappointing because I really wanted the vegetarian dish that was listed online and that's why we chose this restaurant. The food was pretty bland but the dessert was AMAZING. I would go back just for dessert. They should really update the decor. There were 3 undecorated artificial Christmas trees of varying sizes in the lobby and front entrance which I found a bit odd since it was the end of January and the rest of the decor was out of date. Service was very attentive and they knew a lot about the menu and gave us a great overview."

  • "The starter was pretty good but my main dish was pretty disappointing, salty mash potato and the veggies on the side were like the ones I cook at home so, when I go to a fancy restaurant I like to eat better that I do at home. Services was great and kind if a cute restaurant."

  • "We had a Friday night feast for six, three courses of quality food at this quiet, clean restaurant. Everything was prepared excellently. The soup was brought steaming hot in a carafe at the table, main courses were perfectly prepared with crisp tender veggies and made to order meat entrees. I had the lobster which was wonderful, others had the duck which was lovely and tender. Sorbet was brought between courses. The dessert was wonderful, I had creme brûlée. The service was outstanding, we will certainly return"

  • "We have been to numerous city restaurants over the years and this one, in particular, has been consistent for the past twenty odd years. We have never been disappointed by the food, wine or service. Nice to know that you can depend on at least one Edmonton restaurant. A memorable evening."

  • "My wife and I recently spent our annivarsary at Unheardof. As this was our second year, I guess it is becoming a bit of a tradition. We are enticed back to the restaurant due to it's warm, inviting ambiance, fantastic service and fantastic culinary delights. We look forward to our next visit to this little gem of a restaurant!"

  • "We found the food excellent and the staff pleasant. I really liked the variety of quality menu items and thrououghly enjoyed my experience. My only comment was that the bottle of wine was placed away from our table and at the end of the evening, we still had half a bottle left as our glasses were not filled up regularly. However, it was Saturday night and busy, but I would suggest having the wine bottle then accessible to the table."

  • "Decided to dine out at the Unheard of on New Year's Eve. My wife had the beet salad which looked delicious while I had the shrimp cocktail which was I'd call average. Main course was the halibut for my wife and beef tenderloin for myself. Both dishes were excellent. For dessert my wife had the chocolate cake while I had the fresh berries with raspberry sauce, both of which we shared and were absolutely fresh and tasty. Topped it off with a great coffee. We left as 2 very satisfied customers. Also, our server was prompt, helpful and cheerful. We also benefitted from the reduced rate for being seated before 6:00 PM and completed by 7:30 PM. A very satisfying experience and we will definitely return."

  • "There were four of us dinning and we all enjoyed our complete dining experience. I had the bison main course and absolutely loved it. From the appetisers to the desert every thing was extremely well prepared and presented. Will definitely go again..... soon."

  • "Still one of the best restaurants for fine dining in Edmonton. I know it is the new restaurants that catch all the buzz and the publiciity but it is places like 'Unheardof' that consistently provide one the best dinining experiences in the city. Thank you for a great meal with impeccable service."

  • "Our New Year's Eve dinner party of 4 had a fabulous time! Not only was the food and wine terrific, the timing between courses was perfect. The portion sizes were incredibly generous, so each of us sampled every item that was at our table! Incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff helped sway a couple of decisions about orders...and there were no disappointments."

  • "My partner and I weren't the regular type of diners that this restaurant receives. We were by far the youngest in the restaurant by at least 15 years. The restaurant reminded me of my grandmas home in a cozy way. It was warm and welcoming without the awkward aunt trying to strike conversation. The service was friendly although the one server seemed a little stressed (there was a large party in at the same time). The appetizer and dessert were great. My partner and I were disappointed with the entrees though. The plating was what you would see back in the 70's and the vegetables weren't seasonal or cooked very well. The meats (bison and lamb) were delicious. However, we felt the dishes weren't worth $45. I enjoyed my experience very much."

  • "I love the Unheard Of. But I keep forgetting that they make a bland Caesar salad. It's like they forgot garlic is an ingredient. The rest of the food was really exquisite and there is a lot to choose from. I'll go back, but will order a different salad next time."

  • "The design of the place is quite classic and makes it cozy and romantic; the food quality is great, also very appreciated the free snack (salmon salad inside a tiny bowl) and the sorbet while waiting for the main dish. Great Spanish and Italian red wines in a glass. Service was a bit slow though, specially preparing our main dish. Our waitress did not say good bye to us when leaving, she was busy at the till; however those details make the difference when coming back or recommending a place."

  • "It was our first visit and we were celebrating an anniversary, what a fantastic two hour dining experience. We found the restaurant relatively small, which keep the noise level to a minimum, the food was absolutely amazing, the servers were very professional and the perfect setting to celebrate our special occasion. We will be certain to dine here again."
