  • "I have been to 100's possibly 1000's of restaurants, without any doubt Under The Moon Cafe is in the top 5!! The service, food, ambiance all perfect. From the flat bread appetizer, the tuna, thru the best coconut cream pie PERFECTION! The retro decor was so good, we ate on the same table & chairs we had when we were kids. I do not know the owners visited this eatery on the blind via OpenTable last Saturday. There were some negatives comments mentioned on Open Table these people must fall into "I am never happy" or "works for the competition" category."

  • "Great atmosphere for gathering of friends or family. The decor kept us reminiscing all during our lunch. Food was very good. The crab cake was delicious and the Jimmy Jam sandwich was very tasty. We were all very comfortable in this restaurant and were able to talk and be heard. Was disappointed that dessert was never offered. We walked in to a showcase of beautiful looking desserts and the waitress never asked if we wanted anything. We could have asked but we were caught up in the collectables that surrounded us that time ran out. I would definately reccommend this restaurant to everyone. A real hidden gem!!!"

  • "When we arrived the hostess wasnt friendly or welcoming. I even received an email from opentable saying i missed my reservation. The food, however, was great! Our waitress was friendly, but our food took a little longer to come out than expected with a restaurant that doesnt rush you out, especially since only half the tables were seated. The desserts presented up front like you would see at a diner or cafe looked like a meal in itself so we passed. Overall it was a good experience. We plan to go back"

  • "This is my second time to Under the Moon and once again, I was pleasantly surprised by the food and delicious apps and desserts my mom, sister and I shared during our meal. I absolutely adore the interior of the restaurant and though it's on the narrow side, it doesn't take away from the awesome mis-matched pieces and delicious food the cooks prepare nightly. Definitely a hit in my book and will be back!! The menu is always changing so be prepared to bring your appetite for something delicious!"

  • "I love the decor of this place..cozy and warm.. Loved how nothing matches, a college kids dream . It was my first time here. My mom was here before and recommended it . She had a delicious spinach salad and I had the special arugula salad.. Both superb.. Then I ordered the ahi tuna. Tuna was good but too much demiglaze on plate. My mom ordered for the second time the acorn squash appetizer and was very disappointed this time . It was loaded with way too much cheese. I tasted it and she was right. But with all this said, it definitely is worth another visit.. Can't wait to see what will be on display in the store windows! ;)"

  • "This was a great find in Bordentown, NJ. The food was quite good though a bit salty for our taste. The squash dish and the corn souffle were exceptionally good. The service was attentive without being intrusive. We met friends for dinner there and we had ample time to chat in a relaxed way. Overall a superior experience."

  • "We arrived for 6 pm dinner on Sun Feb 16 without many other diners which was good as there was only one server and one bus boy. While service wasn't bad for us it became terrible quick as it appeared out of a dozen or so guests after we arrived were walk-ins, many had to wait long periods of time to be seated and then a long time to have their menus given and order taken. To add insult to injury the sole server did a job interview for someone looking for employment while customers waited. We already had our food (which was just ok), but felt terrible for the diners who came later. Have had better experiences before here so hoping it was just a tough night."

  • "Eclectic decor and friendly staff makes you feel like you're in a friends house. Food was very good, although could use to work on a few things. The menu was limited. They didn't offer any juices on the menu and meal didn't come with toast which are staple items at brunch. Although the very friendly server did bring us garlic toast once we asked. Would definitely go back."

  • "Charming and eclectic decor and a menu with lots of interesting items listed and a delightful server - so we were expecting great things-and our appetizers of spinach and pear salad and scallops were in fact delicious. However our entrees failed to impress. The steak requested medium rare-was rare. The chicken special overcooked and had to be sent back it was so tough. The crab cakes had 2 pieces of crab in them the rest was filler. The risotto was tasty but stogy and the scallops and shrimp special was passable. They did replace chicken dish with a steak but by the time it came the rest of our party was finished and so she ended up taking it home. May be a good place for groups to meet as we did- but it may be best to order tapas."

The service was attentive, removed empty plates quickly, knew the menu and was able to explain the dishes. The food was hot and delicious, attractively presented.   • "I have visited this restaurant many times, in both the old and new locations. It had always been a fav restaurant of mine and one that I took visitors and family to. Unfortunately the value has declined. Entrees are extremely expensive...heck you don't even get a salad with your $28 dollar entree any more. Also, the service was lacking. Our waitress this time was a bit " snippy" when I asked her to wait a bit to take our order since we were waiting for our 3rd member of the party to arrive ( drove around for 10 min) looking for parking. I wish I could say that I will return to under the moon but the fact is, unless they step up their game and serve better food at more affordable prices, I won't be back."

  • "First time at Under the Moon Cafe and it did not disappoint. It was an eclectic surprise. Enjoyed everything about it. The grilled chicken with roasted peppers and mozzarella was delicious with the potato wedge side (much better compliment than a french fry). Can't wait to go back with my hubby and try the meatloaf. Couldn't help but converse about the decor while lunching. This cafe is a must do when visiting the historic town of Bordentown!"

  • "The crab cakes ( 2 ) that I had for lunch when I visited in June that was quite a meal has been reduced to one, and this last time it was a pretty small portion. It was still very good, but like someone observed, it's pretty pricey when I compare it to Lawrenceville and Princeton casual bistos. Hard to justify that price for the skimpy quantity (tapas size)."

  • "We went on a Saturday night and while we were seated right away, our server did not come to our table for 15 minutes. Our food came timely and was good. However, while we were waiting for the waitress to return to see about dessert, the table top fell into my lap and caused the drinks to follow. We were not offered towels to dry ourselves- the workers were only worries about the floor. We will not return."
