Prices are on the high side, so would consider this a "special occasion" destination for the average diner not on an expense account. I had the NY Strip steak, medium rare, and it was a bit on the dry side which surprised me. After dinner coffee had to be sent back as it was cold. Since my wife and I live around the Queens / Long island boarder, we spend a lot of time at restaurants near us.
So we wanted to take them to one of our favorite places, Uncle Jack's in Bayside. Because our friends have never been to NY before, we needed to find a place in the City.
We were Happy to see that Uncle Jack's has two locations in NYC, so we took them to the 9th ave. location.
Well like always, we had a Great meal.
My wife and I had the Porterhouse for Two, like Butter !
one friend had the NY Strip, Loved it ! and the other had the Red Snapper, said it was the best she has had.
baked potato & creamed spinach were delicious.

We had a wonderful experience that we will always remember. The wait staff was wonderful and attended to our every need. The food was very good. I had the prime filet mignon sandwhich, which was superb. We had to wait a while for what my daughter ordered so the mgr offered us a complimentary appetizer. We had the Kobe meatballs which were very good.
When our waiter learned that we were celebrating our daughter's graduation, he brought her a complimentary dessert and gave her a $25 gift card to use on a future visit. All the small little extra touches made the whole experience veru memorable. The atmosphere was very quite and peaceful. The portions were enormous, with almost everyone taking food home, while our main steak-eater managed to finish his entire filet mignon. The staff was very attentive and treated our college graduate like a princess. There were lots of options for a vegetarian diner. My companion ordered the fish special which she didn't care for and asked for another meal which was provided without question or comment. The only negative was our waiter who rushed through announcing the specials, wasn't sure of the vegtables with the special and seemed to want to be somewhere else, the other wait staff were considerate and efficient. I found Uncle Jack's on Open Table and made a reservation, then when I arrived I asked to sit at the bar. The bartender knew her wine list, and had three very good and uncommon cabernets by the glass for me to choose from, so I had to try all three. The oysters were perfect, the salad was very good. My New York strip steak, a house specialty, was very flavorful but not quite as tender as I expected.
Steak prices were modest by New York standards.
