"The very best fine dining in Austin-and I ate everywhere; congress, barley swine, etc. this is the best. I lived in Japan and the fish here is just as perfect. Paul qui deserves that James Beard award.
Service matched the magnificence of the food: most of the hospitality in Austin is lacking, this was not so at Uchiko. Thanks again for a truly memorable meal!"

"was great food and awesome service in the beginning. towards the end of the meal when we added on a couple extra dishes, service became very slow. we waited 25 minutes for a order of sashimi. otherwise a good experience, but unfortunately happened at the end and ruined the first impression"

"We love Uchiko. THis was our first visit back since we left the neighborhood.

The servers are very knowledgeable, which is great since we aren't always familiar with all the ingredients in the dishes.

The Cobia with fresh peas and chorizo was one of the best dishes I've had in a long, long time. The kind of dish that you go back to the restaurant specifically to order.

The avocado sushi and eggplant appetizer were also fantastic.

The only low point of our meal was the dessert. We took our server's advice and went with the tobacco cream. Didn't really like it at all. But, everything else more than made up for the dessert."

"I seriously can't say enough about this place - we are still talking about it days later. We wanted to celebrate a huge personal landmark and went all out with an appetizer (golden beets), the 10 course Chef's selection menu and an extra dessert (because we couldn't decide!). It was an outstanding experience. With the Chef's selection, you put yourself in his hands and don't know what you'll get. It made the whole experience so fun! Of the 10 dishes, 7 were incredibly unique & delicous (lobster, scallops, shortribs), 2 were really great (oysters, sushi) and 1 I definitely didn't like (duck), though my husband polished it off. And the desserts - amazing. This meal was very expensive but it was a special celebration and so worth it!"

"It doesn't get better. Enjoy the adventure! Hot tip: Order the fried brussel sprouts as a side regardless of what your prior thoughts were about that vegetable.
We visited the restaurant several times before Paul Qui deservedly won Top Chef. Congats Chef, you made Austin proud!!! I was very impressed with how well the restaurant is handling its mega-popularity. Walk-ins were gladly waiting two hours for a seat, yet we were seated within 5 minutes of our Open Table reservation. Spectacularly creative food. Well organized service. A great high end dining experience."

"The food was excellent. It was sharply presented with bright flavors and tastes. Several things had me wondering how this was going to be and then we tasted it and it blow me away. Try the beef tongue sashimi and the fried milk dessert. And of course the brussels sprouts are just heaven in the mouth. The service is maybe the best I have ever seen."
