"Fabulous. This was our first meal at Uchi Houston. The service was perfect as was the food. Having Chef Paul Qui in the house was an unexpected bonus. We have eaten a Uchiko and Uchi Houston was every bit as good even though it had only been open for a few months. Congratulations to Chef Tyson Cole and his team."

"This is our 3rd visit to Uchi...we made the reservation before we knew that Paul Qui would be there and there would be his 3 special dishes featured on Top Chef Texas. Tried the sunchoke dashi and uni crab...both were beautiful and delicious...freeze dried uni powder is awesome...love it like I love spanish bottarga! As usual the hamache nabe, bacon sen, mache cure were amazing and are becoming our favorites. Uchi is definitely our favorite restaurant right now. And they have by far the tightest, most efficient and organized service staff I've seen in a while. All restaurants should strive to be like Uchi."

"Uchi is one of my top 5 favorite restaurants! Everything we had was outstanding! We ordered 6 different dishes to start, and then after tastings all 6, we ordered each person's favorite one more time! I highly recommend the hot rock scallops - everyone can cook their own to taste. The machi cure was a delightful spin on cold nachos, and the flavors were well balanced. The bacon tataki was a heavier flavor, but wonderful! If you're looking for a new place with unexpected flavor pairings, Uchi is the place for you!!"

"Everything was great, and it was well worth all the hype I've heard. We were seated about 30 minutes late for a reservation, and even though it wasn't necessary, they made generous attempts at service recovery. This was the freshest seafood I've had since moving to Houston, and Uchi is exactly the kind of restaurant this city needs. I definitely recommend the Walu Walu and Hamachi Nabe."

"Uchi really is worth the hype. The food is fantastic and very creative. Our waitress was awesome and provided wonderful suggestions, but the overall level of service could use a little ironing out (e.g., table not ready on time and had to wait almost 30 extra minutes, but I know it's a popular place; brought wrong dish one time; a little confusion over anniversary celebration). Would definitely recommend to others and we'll be back."
