A word from TWO urban licks
TWO urban licks has been heating up the Atlanta restaurant scene with its “Fiery American Cooking” since opening in the fall of 2004, making it one of the city’s busiest restaurants on a nightly basis. The scene features “Fiery American Cooking” prepared in a magnificent nine-foot, wood pit rotisserie in the dining area and live blues nightly. TWO has garnered an abundance of local and national accolades including Conde Nast Traveler’s “Hot List”, Bon Appetit’s “Hot 50 Tables” and one of Rachael Ray’s “favorite restaurants” in the country as told to InStyle Magazine. Nominated year after year as Best Restaurant Scene and Best Place to Take an Out of Towner, it is no wonder that guests keep coming back for more.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Nice people. Terrible drinks. Poorly run. So many better places on town."
    Dined on 7/29/2014
  • "I have dined here many times, but this time was bleh. My peas weren't cooked well. Flies buzzing around. My glass for my beer wasn't chilled. And the valet copped an attitude concerning his tip. Unfortunately I had a newbie with me who did not get a good impression."

  • "I have visited the restaurant many times before and enjoy the experience with the dynamic menu. However, this experience was not so good. Our server was slow forgetful and not very attentive. I had to instruct him on everything and casually made jokes about the slow service to him. He did not catch the hint. I hope he was just one server vs. the new experience at 2 Urban Licks."

  • "Saturday night crowd was very energetic. Nice vibe, great ambience. Very nice for special occasions or group get-together. Food was okay but way too expensive in my opinion. Lots of options for wines. Cocktails had little or no liquor."

  • "Don't even bother making a reservation, our entire party was there at 928 for our 930 reservation and did not get seated until 1009. The hostess never informed me that they would text me when our table was ready. She seemed more bother than me. We were there for dinner before we started the bachelorette party. The group was small 4 ppl. Once we got seated it was very warm and we never got our bread. Service was slow and we had two servers assigned to our table. We are a group of professionals ranging from an RN to a prosecutor. The food was great but the service was very disappointing. Lesson learned, I won't be back."

  • "So you can't get a reservation until 9PM and you take it, then you get there and you wait in a cramped hallway in everyone's way and are not seated until 9:25...irritating. The wait staff was great, and altho the host was incredibly nice, poor guy (bad position to be in), the low service score is due to their inability to seat you within 15 minutes max of your reservation. In Europe if you wait they come by with drinks or appetizers while you're waiting at least. There's just something wrong with it, felt like I was at the doctor's office and you know what, I don't keep those doctor's very long either."

  • "Excellent food and service. The only downer was the room was hot and the exhaust from the kitchen burned my eyes. The food came out quickly and the waitress was great."

  • "That's exactly what you and your party will be doing at Two Urban Licks! Our server Shawna was very attentive. One member of our party has a gluten sensitivity and Shawna was able to help him out by giving him a menu in which she checked off all of the items that he could have which helped move the ordering process along tremendously! After ordering, we didn't have to wait that long for our food to come. Everything was excellent! There was never an empty glass on the table, Shawna came to check on us several times, and shortly thereafter, the live band came on for their first set. Glad I used OpentTable to make reservations; that place fills up fast after 7!"

  • "Food was pre-prepared (which is ok) but was delivered two minutes after placing order. Need more time to enjoy experience and company."
    Dined on 7/26/2014
  • "Been here several times and it's always delightful! We had a great time. The only issue was we made a reservation for 8:30 and weren't seated until 9:15, which wasn't a problem for our group. But, if it's a busy Friday night just be aware this may happen!"
    Dined on 7/25/2014
  • "Menu was a little intimidating for us. Our food ended up being excellent though. Cocktails were good, VERY strong. We definitely came a bit too early for dinner though, the sun was blinding inside & it was very warm. We had dinner at 7, id recommend a later dinner."

  • "Really a great spot with an electric mix of people. Noise level kicks up once band starts so don't go if you want a quiet place. Hard to believe this restaurant has now been operating for 10 years. Wife had empanadas which was excellent and I had scallops"

  • "Two Urban Licks was highly recommended and it exceeded expectations. Brisket appetizer had a kick and was outstanding. All dishes were fabulous! Definite return on my next trip to Atlanta."

  • "Salmon Chips are the best thing gong the menu! Had dinner with friends for a birthday, everything was good, had a great waiter who knew the menu well. Portions were big some of us split entrees. Great food, loved the garlic spinach and the Mac and Cheese sides!"

  • "This is my go-to place for bringing out of town visitors, amazing food, impressive ambiance and a cool little view of the city. This time my mom came to visit and wanted to take my boyfriend and I to dinner. Both of them had never been and absolutely loved it. Definitely a good choice!"

  • "This was an old warehouse. It was decorated eclectically. It had great outdoor seating with a view. The menu was slightly limited, but the food was delicious."
    Dined on 7/20/2014
  • "I went here for my birthday with a group of friends and it was great! The waitress was attentive and knowledgeable if the menu. Our food came out quickly. Each of us ordered a different entree and each was delicious. We ordered the bar steak, salmon, lemon herb chicken, calamari, and salmon chips. I was a little disappointed in the dessert menu. Also, the drinks I ordered were a little too stiff for my taste, but that's a preference thing. Also, the ventilation for their wood fire grille could improve. Overall wonderful experience and I will come back."

  • "Salmon chips were good. We ordered brisket and chicken as our entrees....neither was good. The brisket was loaded with fat and flavorless and the chicken was dry.....we won't be coming back."

  • "It was a beautiful evening full of awesome surprises."

  • "The empanadas and salmon chips are a must. Our party had the bronzed scallops, the flat iron steak, and the duck. Everything was delicious."

  • "Great dining experience. Met a friend for dinner and drinks. Bar area was very nice with live music. Food was pretty good as well but I think I would go again more drinks and the scenery"

  • "The brisket is to die for! Good wine, good food, good service, and a wonderful time."

  • "Besides the point that when we left we have to come home and change because our clothes smelled like we were the ones doing the cooking and that one empanada was $11; I would never come back because of the service. The waiter said "sorry I'm too busy everyone came in at the same time and you guys are to blame; I'll be right back" only to come back 15 minutes later with silverware and 10 min later with water. Then drinks and took the order. Never to be seen again. Only to drop off the check and get it back. That was his easiest $18 tip that night because at the other end of the restaurant he had 3 or 4 tables with 4+ people each and he was working them. We sent a guy to get them to order more drinks... still waiting... awful experience..."

  • "My wife and I have been here several times. Some things have changed (the outdoor scenic view) - someone put up apartments or condo's - BAD. You use to be able to see the ATL skyline by sitting on the back of the restaurant. The food is still great. I will say that it was a little hard to listen to our guess. We will sitting less than four feet from one another."

  • "Love, love this place! i would go everyweek if I could."

  • "This is my 4th time trying this restaurant. And the only time it was great service is when the owner made reservations for me. I hate this because I feel u should have great service and food no matter what. We waited for a hour with a reservation. And then we had to find our waiter he had many tables. I think he gave as much time as he could which was not enough he was very rushed which made us very uncomfortable. When u have a server that is rushed u feel like your bothering them. Sad because I want to like them"

  • "While this is not the place for intimate dining, its food is always excellent. The steak dish is superb, flavorful and filling. Notably, meal prices have increased and wine selections are iffy. But the food and service are always good and you will want to return again and again."

  • "The service from the second I exit my car until I return is outstanding! I am warmly welcomed inside the door and my servers are attentive and knowledgeable. The variety of appetizers and entrees make each visit unique. I love the decor and the view. My favorite Atlanta dining experience."

  • "Two Urban Licks is one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta where I take friends and coworkers alike. For this visit, the food was as good as usual but my favorite dish, the Bistro Steak, had been removed from the menu. To me, it was one of their staples (along with the Scallops and Salmon Chips). I'm highly disappointed and hope they bring it back."

  • "This restaurant is very "hip" and the food is fantastic, but the night we ate there the service was slow, inattentive and apathetic. First approach by a waiter was long after we sat down, then drinks took even longer. However, our dinner orders were barely out of our mouths and the food appeared. Very odd. Had to flag down the waiter for another drink order, asked two runners + our waiter for salt and pepper....never did get that! It's a great place ambiance and food-wise. Will assume we just hit one waiter on an off night :-) Would definitely give it another try next time I'm in ATL."

  • "Fabulous food, great service & beautiful view. What more could you want?"

  • "Had the frittata and salad. Frittata was perfectly cooked and made for a light brunch. Friends had the brisket and eggs also very good."

  • "Great Food. Service was good. Not good if you wash your hair once a week. You will smell like you've been in a forest fire. Go the day before you get your hair done."
    Dined on 7/12/2014
  • "The food is excellent here. The service was pretty poor. The bar was way overcrowded and the bar staff was not very attentive. I canceled my drink order because they were taking way too long. If they are that busy they should have more bartenders. Service at our table was not that great either. Our server forgot one of our drink orders and he rarely came back to check on our table..... We did get two free desserts because of the poor service."

  • "Arrived 30 min before reservation, was seated 45 mins later. Had group of 4 (1 pregnant), tried to seat us at bar/kitchen, and asked to be seated because of pregnant wife. Were moved to a nice booth w/ scenic view of city, but the service was terrible! The food was alright, everyone's meal at the table seemed to be a little under cooked."

  • "we visit two urban licks twice a year when we come to market. the atmosphere is a bit loud, but the food is really great. the menu is changed often, not the entire menu, parts of each category. love the watermelon salad. tried the hush puppy appetizer, they were great too. definitely a must try if in the Atlanta area. (just wish I could have gotten my tshirt)"

  • "Good spot for casual dining...restaurant is an old warehouse...tucked away...but not far from downtown Atlanta nightlife...Very noisy, lively venue...the restaurant packs you in...need to allow more space between tables...party of two seating is very tight so be prepared to get engaged in your neighbor's conversation and have them in yours...View of Atlanta skyline...Roasted Chicken is the best..."
