A word from TWO urban licks
TWO urban licks has been heating up the Atlanta restaurant scene with its “Fiery American Cooking” since opening in the fall of 2004, making it one of the city’s busiest restaurants on a nightly basis. The scene features “Fiery American Cooking” prepared in a magnificent nine-foot, wood pit rotisserie in the dining area and live blues nightly. TWO has garnered an abundance of local and national accolades including Conde Nast Traveler’s “Hot List”, Bon Appetit’s “Hot 50 Tables” and one of Rachael Ray’s “favorite restaurants” in the country as told to InStyle Magazine. Nominated year after year as Best Restaurant Scene and Best Place to Take an Out of Towner, it is no wonder that guests keep coming back for more.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Two Urban Licks is truly an urban chic restaurant with great, great food. As TUL fills up it get noisy, smoky so this is not the place for a simple, low keyed meal. We ate several appetizers and the lamb ribs were the best ever. Be sure to order the summer salad, excellent TUL needs to come up with a no hat policy as so many young men sat at tables with backward baseball caps on their heads, so rude. They also need a cell phone check in policy. Why do people go out to dine if their are going to text the entire meal?"

  • "The food is great- the salmon chips and bistro steak especially! Their drinks aren't the best- pop a bottle instead. It tends to get pretty smoky when dining indoors due to the wood-fire grill but overall- I could eat here everyday!"

  • "I love brunch here, but I've been 20 or so times and the menu rarely evolves. Also, cocktails before 12:30 would be a blessing. By 12:30 its no longer brunch, its lunch time."

  • "The food was tasty, and filling without being heavy. I will definitely be back!...Thomas and DJ were exceptional servers too!!"

  • "We've been to Two Urban Licks several times for dinner and to hear a specific band, and found the crowds and noise level less than desirable (warehouse setting and conversation is difficult due to the number of customers talking). The food and service are always great, regardless of how crowded. Sunday Brunch was a very pleasant surprise. No huge, loud crowds, same great food and service and a much less harried, busy ambience. Conversation was easy, even with a band playing."

  • "Great food, great service. one of our favorite restaurants! Live music was outstanding!"

  • "All in all a great experience. Food, decor, music was fabulous. Only negative was the ventilation. We were at a table on the left side close to the kitchen open pit area where they grill. The smoke from the grill was over powering and at the end of the meal started to burn the eyes of everyone in the party. Walked out smelling like we sat next to a camp fire all night. Just need to work on the ventilation system for the grill area."

  • "The place was filled with smoke from the kitchen. The food was very overpriced. Service was good. Long wait for drinks from the bar. Drinks were very strong."

  • "Excellent food, not a place for a milestone anniversary!"

  • "Everything was perfect food, service, staff, but the smoke level from the grille/smoker was too much. When I left my clothes smelled like I had been standing near an outdoor fire."

  • "Worth the 10 min cab ride from midtown Atlanta. Among the best that Atlanta has to offer. Great atmosphere, service and food!"

  • "I really enjoyed the atmosphere. I've been for brunch and now, dinner with a friend, and I really enjoyed the experience both times. We sat outside and watched the sunset. It was beautiful."

  • "Thank you for the best server!!! She was AWESOME and knew all about the food and had great suggestions."

  • "We were anticipating our first trip to Two on our first anniversary, but were a little disappointed. The brisket was chewy and substandard, which came HIGHLY recommended from the server. The scallops were just O.K. Not sure we felt it was worth the $70 price tag. We will look for other eateries in Atlanta to spend that much or more in the future."

  • "We arrived a early, had drinks at bar. Bartender uninterested, bringing a different wine choice when one selected was unavailable. Should have sent it back but our table was called. My Mojito was weak. He was either distracted or just full of himself. Bad start to evening. Group of 4 sat at table with 2 seats against wall, the 2 on an ottomanseat. Very uncomfortable seating - garage doors opened, making area uncomfortably hot on a warm evening. High noise, amplified by the warehouse-like space and large crowd. Best part of was food - good but not spectacular. Salmon chips very good. My brisket was a little dry but tasty. Wine list OK, but full priced. Skipped desert. Packed at 930p, so place to be seen."

  • "if you are tired of the same dining experience you should definitely try this out on a weekend night! Open late for all the late workers in the city, and i frequently take all my friends that celebrate birthdays her!, live music on certain nights playing a variety of music. The menu always changes, but has more than enough selections to choose from! Love IT"

  • "This was our monthly ladies night out! The service was great...The ambience was great. The menu has changed. My pecan salad is no longer on the menu. I was disappointed because about that and ceasar salad was not good at all. I had to ask the waitress for macadamian nuts to spruce up the salad."

  • "One of the reasons we wanted to dine here was to enjoy the outdoor setting. There is also a windowed wall that can be raised to provide those indoors with an outdoor experience. So we requested outdoor seating on our opentable reservation. However, when we arrived we were told that they were not seating outdoors (a concern about rain which didn't happen) and could not raise the wall (something about fog), so we were disappointed in that regard. It also gets smokey indoors (not from tobacco, but from the kitchen) which was starting to burn my eyes a little (they're sensitive to smoke) so the outdoor air would have provided some relief. The food and service were great, if not a little pricey for us to dine there regularly."

  • "This is a great first date spot! Excellent food, drink and the noise level is just right for holding a conversation but still keeping the vibe of the place. I've been going here since this place opened and have never been disappointed. Keep up the great work!!!"

  • "My friends and I always choose Two Urban Licks when we are hosting someone from out of town. So when one of our sales reps offered to take me out to dinner, I immediately made reservations. We got the calamari, a must order, and the pimiento cheese hush puppies. Both were delicious but watch out for the chili jam with the puppies, very spicy! I generally don't order an entree but this night I decided to try the Mahi Mahi, great choice. My colleague got a beef entree that she loved. Even for a late dinner (830pm) on a Monday night, the place was still pretty hoppin' and we had a great time."

  • "The food was absolutely delicious and the ambience was great! It would have been helpful to know upon booking the reservation that brunch would be served during that time and dinner menu items are unavailable. I went based on a "craving" for their prawns, but obviously I booked an early reservation that was "too early" to be able to order this. Needless to say, the food was still very delicious and I highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "After having had a lovely time previously at brunch, I took my husband last Sunday. The food was very good. The waiter was a little distracted. We felt like his interest was somewhere else. The doors were open which would have been fine but no fans were running and we spent the majority of our meal shooing flies away from our food & our face. Yuck! Instead of the lovely Jazz combo that had played before, we were treated to a too loud, not very good blues band. We ate and left."

  • "Previous reviews helped, so I knew I'd be valet parking and that 2 Urban is in warehouse. Otherwise not sure I'd have found it. Loved the re-use of warehouse, down to the loading dock arrival. The restaurant is large scale beautiful with roll up bays looking out on Atlanta skyline and the beltway. Bocce court out back and easy access for a walk (or arrival) from the beltline. Food was delicious, and just a little different. Salmon chips were a favorite. Only "wish" was that there were a few more lunch items on the brunch menu -- my partner is not an eggs in the afternoon person. (the cuke salad did him well, tho). Saw the dinner menu and can't wait to return."

  • "My husband and I went to Two Urban Licks after visiting the High Museum. It is a lively resturant with excellent food. I ordered the duck while my husband ordered the brisket. Both were delicious! There was a classic rock cover playing creating a fun and lively atmosphere. I will add this to my arsenal of awesome resturants."

  • "Visited here in September and loved it! Came back down from Nashville and brought my wife this time! She loved it as well. The food is great and the atmosphere is very nice. Everyone I have sent there has loved it. I'll be back."

  • "My daughter had her 21st birthday dinner here with family and friends. Alec was our server, and he did an incredible job. He recommended the black & blue infusion cocktails, and my daughter chose that for her first legal drink and loved it! The food was amazing, the appetizers were tasty, everything was cooked to perfection and we all left with happy full stomachs. Would definitely dine here again!!"
