Nice place to go.. In the short north. Our waitress had no personality and was not very friendly for what I was expecting. Food was excellent but took a really long time for sushi.

  • Two Fish was Too Fun!

My girlfriend and I had a great time dining at Two Fish Bistro on Saturday night. Our dishes were quite yummy. She had the fish beignets, and I had the scallops. She loved the sauce on hers (which I did too!), and I thorughly enjoy a good risotto which this one was. It had corn and asparagus in it, and was delicious. The atmosphere was especially fun because we were able to sit by the window and people watch during the gallery hop. Quiet, relaxing, enjoyable, but fun too! The topper that made our experience great was our waiter Nick. He was so much fun! If he was allowed to and didn't have other tables to wait on, I would have invited him to have a drink with us!

My boyfriend and I went to Two Fish on Gallery Hop. It took the waitress at least 15 minutes to approach our table at first. After we placed our drink orders, it was about a 20 to 25 minute wait for our drinks. The whole time we were there, nobody was sitting at the bar and there were only two other tables, of two people each, that were full. Also, there was a multiple flies that kept buzzing around our table throughout the meal. We ordered the mahi-mahi and the fish beignets. The beignets were ok and the mahi-mahi tasted as if it had no seasoning. Neither dish was worth the high price tag. It is not a surprise to me that Two Fish had six guests during Gallery Hop, while we watched people line up outside Bakersfield across the street.

We appeared at the confirmed reservation date, time and location only to find the doors locked and the restaurant closed. Very disappointed in both open table and the restaurant. It seems open table failed it's primary function. Since I can no longer rely on the function of open table I will not use it in the future.

Our reservation was for 7:30 and at 8 we still hadn't had anyone take our drink order even though the restaurant was not that busy (open tables all around us). We finally had to be waited on by the manager after the person that was supposed to be our server told us that he was too busy. The manager gave us good service, but the food was not that great and the overall experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I don't plan on going back.

We've been coming to Two Fish for several years for Good Friday dinner due to the nice selection of seafood dishes. The fish taco appetizer is always tasty, and the entree selection always offers a wide selection of tastefully prepared dishes at a reasonable price. The chef made the dirty rice meat free for several of us since we were not eating meat on Friday. Service is sometimes slow, but we've never been in a rush to hurry out so it hasn't really affected us.

Having to entertain a pescatarian girlfriend isn't always an easy feat; however, the selection at this restaurant was amazing for both of us! We shared a starter and a specialty sushi roll-- both delicious-- but it made it difficult to finish our main courses. Definitely recommend this restaurant for dates or group meals since the atmosphere is great (not loud, not too bright and very modern layout), the service was great, and the food even better!

The food was wonderful! This was my third time coming and everything was just great. The problem was our wait to eat. It took over two hours before our entree came. It was my birthday so I didn't notice but it was a long wait. The manager didn't offer compensation until somebody else brought it up. It wasn't the waiters fault but he should have been honest with us and kept us posted with the situation. He just kept saying the food was on its way. Then later she asked if we all wanted drinks instead, which we declined. Our appetizers were taken off the bill which was good! She promised us gift cards so we will see if we ever get our emails with the gift cards attached.

This was my second time to Two Fish. I am a huge fan of Groupon and Half Price Hookups and any other money saving offers I can find. The Two Fish Groupon comes available pretty often so I buy one any time I have extra money to spend. Two Fish is a little pricey but the food is very good. We have had no problems either time we have been . The plates are a nice size even though you would suspect them to be smaller as it is a ritzy Bistro. Even the appetizers are large enough to have as a meal. I have not tried the sushi or sashimi yet as my man is not a fan and I only like my sushi cooked....I know cooked sushi? I am already looking to get another Groupon so we can go again.

For a Friday evening, the restaurant was not busy (red flag). The service was fair. I ordered a glass of plum wine that was served in a fluted glass and poured only 1/3. Really? We ordered sushi rolls to start. The Alaskan Roll that we had was not good with an exceptionally strong taste. For our main course, I had the scallops. It was served with risotta that tasted as if it was not cooked all the way. It was just terrible! My friend had the short ribs which the server recommended. They were extremely tender; however, entirely too salted to even enjoy. Finally, we had cheesecake for dessert which tasted as if it had freezer burn. I had ordered coffee that never came as well. I would not go back to this restaurant nor recommend.

It was New Years Eve, and our first time at the restaurant. The overall experience was very good. The food that we ordered was delivered hot, and was very good to eat. The service was slow. We really enjoyed our dinner! The hostess was very friendly and helpful - we had the potential for a last minute addition to dinner, and she went out of her way to accommodate us, even on the busiest night of their year. The peach martini was delicious, as were the short ribs and Two Fish crab pizza appetizers. I ordered the split salmon, my friends, the twice baked salmon and the Two Fish curry stew. All were excellent. I won't hesitate to return!

It may be good at night since it has a very good location. We went for lunch. This was our first experience and we don't plan to return. The server was really nice and attentive, but, unfortunately, the place was smelly, the sushi rolls were cut too big for a bite. The restaurant was empty, compared to other restaurants close by that were full of people and lively. That should have given us a good hint, but we wanted to honor the reservation we made via OpenTable.

The food here is great, will come back. The wine list is pathetic, there are 4 choices of reds by the bottle. We ordered the Merlot, after 10 minutes, we were told they had 2 glasses left. The place was half-empty on this Saturday night, couldn't have been a run on the Merlot. We finally got answers to our wine questions and inquiries, and we did order the cab, of which they had 2 bottles on hand. This whole process was slow and clumsy, our server did bring us a glass of merlot (they poured it assuming we would buy it) and gave it to us for free, thinking we may forget about the whole thing. Tip was reduced because of this wine fiasco, we were scowled at by our server and the bartender upon leaving . . . . but, did I say the food was good?

The fish taco's are delicious, and with the Happy Hour menu available throughout the restaurant instead of just at the bar, you can enjoy special pricing on food and drinks until 7pm each night. We also enjoy the wide variety of fresh seafood available at a decent price!
