Diner Reviews
  • "Great place to share a great night with your wife and a few friends. The food was outstanding. I had the Grouper special which was as good as I have ever had!"

  • "Although the stone walls and high ceilings made it not. quiet evening, the food and the service was great. Fine martini served with an skim of ice on top, and four meals (trout, duck, shrimp & grits, and short rib) were all excellent. Will go back for sure."

  • "Dreadful and rude service. Awful food. Do not go to this place."

  • "Tasty appetizers, great drinks, and good service! I came with a party of 8, one of which was a small child, and we all had a great time. The dinner food is rather pricy (starting at $20 a plate), but the appetizers were sufficient to fill our bellies and much more reasonable in cost. We had drinks, shared our apps, the cheese plate and flatbread apps are great! On a Sunday afternoon we were not crowded and the atmosphere was very nice. The server was attentive, almost too attentive as he tried taking some unfinished meals away that were still being eaten. Would I come back? Sure! Overall, I had a great time and my group did as well."

  • "Twisted Vine is a good restaurant with generally good food. If you can eat outside in the Courtyard area it is a very pleasant night. Inside it is a very loud restaurant and then with live music it is very difficult to have a conversation. However our downtown has very few quality restaurants, we seem to be a haven for Sports Bar type dining venues and one owner is becoming prevalent. Maybe that's what works but it would be nice to have some more good choices."

  • "Due to a special event in the area which snarled traffic and made parking difficult, we arrived 25 minutes late expecting to not be seated. To the contrary we were told that they wouldn't give away our table and were seated right away. Since we were going to the theater the staff made sure that our food arrived quickly and we were very pleased with the quality (salmon and trout)."

  • "Went there because of its great reviews. Service was not good (server was completely overextended and couldn't cover all of his table, kitchen was backed-up and food arrived late), drinks and dinner were mediocre and pricey (1/2 of flatbread was burnt but I didn't ask for a new one because server never returned to table and I knew it would take too long to replace). Only redeeming factor was that server recognized the issues and was very apologetic about our wait and the burnt food (removed the charge for it). Great location and outdoor seating, but wouldn't go back."

  • "Great Location Excellent wine list more entrees needed great service"

  • "The food is very good. I ordered the seafood lasagna and it was ok. However my two dining partners ate the duck breast which was excellent. The wedge salad is terrific and only wished I had room for dessert. Great wine list."

  • "Excellent service with a somewhat limited menu that was offset by nicely prepared, tasty food. The outside dining area was tranquil and very pleasant. However, the prices reflected a location in downtown Manhattan rather than downtown Fort Myers."

  • "Not a fan of brussel sprouts? Try these with bacon & onions as an app. Very nice! Delicious onion soup. Equally tasty soup du jour -- tomato dill bisque. Grilled cheese pot roast is mostly a tender, flavorful meat sandwich but very tasty & filling. Mushroom flat bread was enjoyable. Burgers are half-pound & cooked correctly! Bacon and a tasty soft cheese. Put the mustard sauce on the side. Homemade ketchup was super -- like a chunky marinara. Extensive wine list. Didn't try the entrees but they looked good! Bread & Olive oil dip needs to be more diner-friendly. One tiny dipping dish was served for 4 people. $10 for a well martini is high."

  • "Consistently good food and service. Great attention to detail."

  • "I chose this restaurant based on several website reviews. the food was average at best, portions are small, and overall it was very disappointing. To pay over $30 for a very small entree with a tiny side item is never fun, but it's worth it if the food is outstanding, which this definitely wasn't. Scallops weren't fresh and were rubbrery-overcooked; cheeses were a little long in the tooth - two of the five we ordered would have been tossed out at my own house due to age - the others were stale, and the breads were also stale. The fish was very average, nothing special although it was the 'special' - and two of the salads arrived without dressing, for which we had to wait several minutes. I'd say choose another location."

  • "Food was ok but not worth the prices charged. Would go back for a glass of wine but not much else."

  • "I have visited this restaurant several times and it never disappoints me. The wine list is extensive and the food choices are exceptional. The servers are friendly and knowledgeable. What a great evening!!"

  • "Great good, smaller menu but there's something for everyone. We went with a large group and sampled the salmon, rib eye, duck, and pork. All were well seasoned, good quality. Th pork was fall-off-the-bone tender, fish was cooked perfectly, rib eye had a great flavor, side dishes were not overcooked. The atmosphere is really nice in the courtyard. The tables are farther apart, giving diners more privacy and the seating is comfortable considering it's outside dining."

  • "Wonderful anytime, but especially before theater or other activities in the city!"

  • "We were going to see a play at at Florida Rep and this was recommended for the location....just half a block away...as well as the food. We weren't disappointed. Service was a bit slow however."

  • "Our first time at Twisted Vine ate outside just beautiful. Great service and good food."

  • "No table available for 7:00 reservation. Manager said problem was because of rain. She tried to be helpful but we ended up sitting at the bar for dinner. Prime Rib OK but at $40 should have been excellent."
    Dined on 3/21/2014
  • "Twisted Vine is a jewel in the dining crown of downtown Ft Myers. It is a great place to grab a cocktail or a good glass of wine after work. The menu offers a variety of choices depending upon your appetite or your pallet. It is a great spot for early dining before the show at FL Rep. We enjoy dining at the bar or at a bar-top table. The lobster mac and cheese is delicious. It is an appetizer that is a meal for 1 or large enough for 4 people to share. The burger is another item on the appetizer menu. It is handmade and cooked to order. Lunch, dinner or just a good cocktail or a nice glass of wine, Twisted Vine is the place to dine."

  • "We had a large group (21 people!) which unexpectedly needed a place for dinner on an hour's notice. The folks at Twisted Vine were super nice and we ended up enjoying a very nice dinner. The food is excellent; every dish seems to have that little something extra to make it special. And the people are very committed to providing a wonderful dining experience."

  • "4 different meals and each one was wonderful. Presentation was awesome. Service was great. Nothing negative to say. Only regret was that we didn't eat in courtyard on a beautiful evening."

  • "Four of us ate at Twisted Vine to mark a special occasion for one of the couples. We ate in the courtyard next to a trickling water feature and among lots of greenery and great people watching. Each couple split a salad - wedge for my sister and brother-in-law, Caesar for us. The salads were, as usual, outstanding. Two of the party had crispy skin salmon with roasted potatoes. My sister had duck breast and I had an upscale version of shrimp and grits. The grits were spicy with chopped pancetta; perfect shrimp topped the grain. All of the meals were perfect and left us with little room for dessert. We, however, did manage to split an outstanding pecan pie and a key lime pie. The only down part of the evening was the decaf coffee - forget it."

  • "The Twisted Vine's courtyard is a relaxing counterpoint to the indoor seating. Great food without all of the hustle and bustle."

  • "We came upon the Twisted Vine accidently a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. So much did we enjoy it we took out of town guests there this week. Our server, Joel, was polite, personable, refined and friendly. Our starters were served, as were our dinners, with perfect timing and the quality was great. We had range of dinners from a combination of starters to steak and seafood and all were very nice. We will go again and soon and we will keep this as a goto place for out of town guests. Nice food and experience."

  • "We had the BEST waitress "ever"…such a shame it was her last night! Our meals were nicely flavored and interesting! The calamari exhibited the most interesting preparation and presentation. I don't think we will ever order Calamari anywhere else. We were fighting over the last morsels! We particularly enjoyed sitting at the high tops in the bar area. The lower tables on the opposite side seemed a bit too close together. The food was hot."

  • "We had a res for 8 at 8:30pm. The restaurant was packed & we found seats at the bar. Unfortunately, when our table was ready the hostess took us to the courtyard. The courtyard is pretty, but we wanted to be inside with the music. we love the live music at TV. She said I didn't specify inside on my reservation and I responded that I had no idea they even had a courtyard. I've made lots of reservations on OT and if there is ever a question on something the restaurant always calls. Twisted Vine didn't do this. So, we went for a drink somewhere else .. the hostess told us she would call when our table was ready. She NEVER called. This is the 2nd time they have botched our res on ArtWalk night. Last time was a year ago. Very disappointed."

  • "My husband and I had dinner at the Twisted Vine Bistro on Saturday night and had a great meal. No need to drive all the way to Naples for a great dining experience. My husband had the braised short ribs and I had the scallops both we sooo delicious. The martinis were great too. We will be back soon."

  • "As much as we enjoy outdoor dining, the restaurants with seating out on the sidewalk are not vey appealing. TwistedVine offers a fabulous dining experience with a great menu & a lovely courtyard setting.."

  • "My wife and I decided to book a reservation here for a romantic night out. We arrived about 10 minutes ahead of our reservation time and were told quite rudely by who i assume was one of the hostesses that we needed to go stand outside and wait for her to get to us so she could even take our name and match it to the reservation. We were a little surprised at the response, but went back outside and waited for another 15 minutes to no avail. I went back to the hostess station and luckily there was a different woman there who took my name. About an hour later we were finally seated. We ordered and another 45 minutes passed before they brought our food, which was overcooked. Needless to say we will not be returning."

  • "My husband and I went to Twisted Vine Bistro a couple of weeks ago and we had to wait about 45 min. for our entree's because there was a large party in the courtyard and the kitchen couldn't handle it all at once. This Sunday we went again with another couple. We arrived at 5:30 pm. The food was delicious, well presented and the staff was quite attentive. We told the wait person we had theatre tickets and did he think we could make the 7 pm curtain. He said yes. Unfortunately, we had to rush through dinner and barely made it on time. Our suggestion is DO NOT go to Twisted Vine unless you intend to wait a long time to eat. We will definitely go there again but not until the "season" is over."

  • "Made reservation in open table more than 24 hours ahead for a courtyard table and asked for a call back confirmation. Did not hear back so called in mornings spoke to owner who assured me we would be seated outside. Arrived early for our reservation and checked in with hostess explaining that we would have a drink at the bar until our reservation time. Made sure she knew about the request for outdoor table. The reservation with the note was on her screen but she told us she did not have any outside tables. I told her I had spoken to the owner so she went an talked to her. Were seated at a high top inside that was designed for 2.food was okay but it was very expensive, $250 for 4. No apologies for seating. Will not return."

  • "When we return to our Florida home, one of the first things we do after getting settled in, is to head to the Twisted Vine for lunch. It starts our week off on the right foot! The food, the great place to relax, helpful staff, for us a great start!"

  • "We had a group of 8, and I think every person remarked that his/her meal was excellent. We went at lunch so it was not loud; it could be loud later in the evening I imagine."

  • "Two of us waited ONE HOUR AND FORTY MINUTES for our dinner to be served. In our behalf and at my request our server politely asked when we could expect our dinners to be ready (medication issues.) She was told "Tell them they'll be ready when they're ready," and then was physically moved away from the serving counter. Four people at the table next to us gave up waiting and left the restaurant. The restaurant's excuse was that they were swamped with two large parties at the same time. My retort is that a major restaurant in a busy downtown theater district has to expect to be busy at such times and must be prepared for it, especially when you have a discount deal with the theater!"
