Diner Reviews
  • "My husband and I took our 2 kids to dinner Monday night. We ate early because we had the kids with us. Our waiter was Gideon and he was charming, professional, attentive, perfect. The food was excellent, as was the decor and service. Highly recommend! In fact, we're going back again Thursday night."

  • "The food was underwhelming for such a "premiere" resort - very average. As a foodie, I was quite dissapointed. The view was spectacular though - so perhaps, better for a drink or lunch."

  • "28 Atlantic on a beautiful July evening is as romantic and scenic as anyone could ask for. The food was exactly what I hoped - interesting and delicious. Tried the watermelon carpacio w pan fried goat cheese and was not disappointed. Highly recommend."

  • "I have been to Twenty Eight Atlantic twice and last night was my third time. We took some friends who were visiting the Cape because I thought it would be a great place for them. I was seriously disappointed, because the food was not as good as last years. My shrimp appetizer was very blain, and simply had no taste. My cod was very good. My husband ordered chicken and he said it was so salty that he was hardly able to eat it, he should of complained but did not want to ruin the mood for our friends. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and the views are gorgeous. I just wish they were not resting on their laurels and would maintain the hight quality they used to have."

  • "We've been here twice for special occasions, and it's been a consistently great experience. The combination of view, lovely service, a great wine selection and creative food makes it a favorite. Wish there were more spots like this on the Cape!"

  • "Perfect in every way. The food was incredible the service was very well done. The views of the bay are breathtaking. The new waterfront is superbly designed and executed. Wequassett truly makes the most of their location, while Chatham Bars Inn shamefully does little justice to an otherwise superior location. Bottom line, Wequassett is head and shoulders above Chatham Bars Inn."

  • "Wonderful view of Pleasant Bay and gorgeous hotel with live jazz in another area of the hotel after dinner. Our waiter was superb and our food was delicious. I was disappointed that they didn't have scallops that night. How can you run out of scallops on July 2nd when you know how popular it is and how busy of a time it is? The menu is limited as is so this did not go over well with us from a Preferred Hotel!"

  • "28 Atlantic is simply spectacular. The dining room is beautiful with incredible views of the bay out to the ocean. The nautical theme is enhanced with lanterns and soft lighting. Our waiter Daryl was fantastic - and the service overall is superb. The food is a dream - a complex menu with something to delight everyone. The lobster ravioli appetizer is delicious and the main courses all good. Save room for the dessert - I highly recommend the chocolate Brazil. Best thing on the menu! Just an amazing night for our group of 5."

  • "There were four of us and we had to sit there waiting for the waiter. Another 15 minutes before he took our drink order, another 20 minutes before he brought it (half of the order was wrong) 10 minutes before he took the dinner order and then when he brought it out two of us sat there without silverware."

  • "One of the best restaurants with incredibly attentative staff. We arrived early for 7:45P reservation and were seating immediately. Upon seeing a table by the window we requested to be moved and the staff promptly and agreeably relocated us. My fiance had the octopus appetizer which he found to be rather chewy. The waiter took immediate notice and offered to remedy as desired. The remaining dishes were elegantly prepared, professionaly served and thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you for a very special dinner."

  • "We were greeted warmly as always and were seated at a table by the large windows over looking Pleasant Bay. The appetizers were unique and very tasteful as were the entrées. The server was attentive and helpful. Unlike many newer restaurants the noise level allowed for quiet conversation."

  • "My husband and I live in the area but had not made it over to Twenty Eight Atlantic, so glad we finally did. We celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary last night and couldn't have been happier. We have had a lot of special dinners in our marriage but this was by far one of the best, only surpassed by a sunset dinner on the beach in Aruba!. Our waiter Nicholas was very attentive without being obtrusive, food was unbelievable (salmon and cod entrees) and they greeted us with a lovely Happy Anniversary card.......we were more than pleased."

  • "My wife for Father's Day took me here to the Inn and I'm still raving about the place, the view (we were seated in the main dining room by the window) the food and the service. This is a bit more upscale than other places on the Cape but well worth the visit. Yes it's also a bit pricey but worth it."

  • "This may be the best restaurant on Cape Cod. The food was exquisite!"

  • "We have frequented this restaurant many times and have always had excellent service. This time we were disappointed in our waitress. She was not up to par for this restaurant. Food on the other hand is excellent and the view is spectacular and other wait staff is right on the ball.."

  • "Spectacular water view, all staff focused on providing excellent customer service to their patrons. The dining area was beautifully appointed, appetizers were delightful and entrees wonderful. it was a dining experience that left us knowing we would return again on our next trip to the cape."

  • "From the moment we were greeted until the time we left, the experience was top notch. Our server, Vivienne, was very knowledgeable and patient with our many questions. The food was not only unique in preparation, it was also artistically presented and delicious. Finally, there was the setting. The room is elegant and the view is spectacular. What more could one want?"

  • "Thoroughly enjoyed our anniv. dinner at this newly remodeled waterfront resort. With a window table overlooking Pleasant Bay and an absolutely well prepared 4 course meal, The Wequassett Resort is not to be missed for special occasions or just a cocktail on their outside waterview patio."

  • "The evening was unbeatable - perfect weather, superb dining, excellent wine, great service and some special touches to make our anniversary most enjoyable and memorable. We will certainly be repeat visitors. "

  • "This is a very nice restaurant. Be prepared to spend a chunk of cash. The food is good, but not extraordinary, like a Bobby Flay restaurant or some of the great places in Napa. We were definitely not blown away. The best part of the evening was the lovely view. Ask for a table with a view of the bay. Service was a bit iffy. It is the beginning of the season and I suspect there were some newbies serving. For example, salad was served but no one asked if additional pepper was desired. Soup was served, but alas no spoon. We noted a guest sending her food back and another complained about flat champagne (which was quickly taken care of). The duck was very nicely prepared as were the day scallops. Dessert, so so. "

  • "Not happy with the new chef. They no longer do soufflés or pressed coffee. That is a big disappointment. I had scallops for dinner with gnocchi. There were 4 tiny pieces the size which was less than a dime. I didn't want the ham with it so it's to bad they couldn't give me one more gnocchi. In the past this was a to die for restaurant and I no longer think that. The manager acted as though he was interested at first and when we offered our disappointment we were quickly dismissed."

  • "Such a fantastic place! Food was fantastic, the view was awesome, the service was great! Of course the prices are what they are, a place for special occasions, however I am certain I will find more reasons to Celebrate on special occasions!"

  • "If you are looking for a breathtaking view of the ocean, impeccable service, beautiful and interesting food, and vibrant yet elegant ambience, then 28 Atlantic won't disappoint. They accommodated by vegan diet by preparing the lemon and fresh pea risotto to accommodate my dietary needs. It was one of the most complex and interesting dishes I have eaten in awhile. My husband started with the lobster and tarragon ravioli and was delighted. He also enjoyed the poached flounder. All of the dishes were superb and portion sizes do not leave you overwhelmed. Do not skip dessert! The citrus tart was almost too lovely to eat, but we did, and it was a real palate pleaser. We will definitely return. "

  • "We were in Chatham to attend a wedding at another Inn. Having arrived a day early, we had dinner at the Wequassett, based on our son's recommendation. We were delighted! Food, service, ambience, setting were all perfect. We will return. The wedding, BTW, was at a lovely Inn down the road, but we had been spoiled."

  • "The maître d' was terrific. We had notified the restaurant that we were celebrating our 38th wedding anniversary. We were seated at a corner window table overlooking Pleasant Bay. We were also given a signed card & small gift. The meal was outstanding as was the service."

  • "What an incrediable evening. We invited friends who are re-locating off Cape for a send-off meal. They had never been. The room was warm and inviting, service was impeccable, and our food just fantastic. We had codx2, and scalliops x2 for our entrees. There were lots of wait staff moving around the room but we did not feel hovered over, nor did we feel the least bit of pretention on their part. They were just THERE when we needed them, and even when we didn't even know we did The squid app a little disappointing but the parsnip/almond cream soup was amazing. Soft maple cheesecake and the Brazil topped it all off. Glad I planned the dollars. It's really okay to list the prices on the website. "

  • "We dined Saturday evening and had a lovely experience. Service was top notch just the right amount of attention. The setting was beautiful. The menu is high end fine dining. Our food was good but not memorable- my husband had the scallops and they were slightly over cooked and I had the halibut that was under seasoned. We enjoyed our night out but the food was not the highlight."

  • "This was the best meal we had on our 6 day trip to the Cape. The restaurant is a little on the fancy side (there is a dress code), but the ambiance, setting, view, service, and food are all outstanding. I would recommend this for a special occasion. Wonderful. "

  • "We have been dining at 28 Atlantic for many years. The food is always terrific, the service is always outstanding and the views always spectacular. Pricey, but worth every penny. The landscaping throughout the resort alone is worth a visit. Renovations completed over the last several months have brought this already exceptional venue over the top. We'll return many times during the season. "

  • "The evening at 28 Atlantic is an example of a restaurant exceeding lofty expectations. The sole and the the turnip soup appetizers were spectacular. The soup was one of the two most memorable soups I have ever had in my life, with subtle and complex flavors. The entrees of mushroom risotto and scallops ina butternut squash puree accented with pomegranate seeds were both memorable. The wines by the glass were both excellent, with generous portions served, unusual these days in fine restaurants that seem to focus on maximizing profit from the wine list. A great experience with gracious service."
