  • "We had a small group of 7, 3 of whom were vegans which we let the restaurant know ahead of time. Our vegan guests had reviewed the menu before coming, and felt comfortable that among the sides offered, there would be something they could eat. The owner/chef came out to meet our group and to ask specfic questions from our vegan guests so that he could offer specific options for entrees. They were delighted with the choices, as were all of us. We were also celebrating a big birthday - made very special by the extra nice touch of the staff's acknowledgment of same with an staff-signed birthday card presented at the end of the night."

  • "Who knew Flower Mound could have such a treasure. Wine was fabulous, the "new" American food choices were fun (deviled eggs with a kick), the bread was homemade and delicious, and the service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. I love that they try to use locally-sourced ingredients when possible. Wish I could keep this one to myself so that I can always easily get a table, but I have already recommended it several times."

  • "We had such a great experience this past weekend. Your server was outstanding and very knowledgeable - she had great suggestions and the food and wine to follow was awesome. I had the "Smoked" petite fillet. They cold smoke it and then grill it. Outstanding - I have never had anything like it before. The smoke was not overpowering - it was perfect. The best part about this restaurant is the Chef. An IT guru for 18 years turn Chef because he loved to cook. Normally you would get some type of diner - not such an upscale, hip, trendy location with an imaginative menu. Really worth the visit!!!"

  • "Twelve Stones was recommended by a friend. It turned out to be a great find! The bar serves great prohibition era cocktails, and has a nice inventory of select spirits. The food is fresh, tasty and a nice size. I don't feel like I'm paying for more than I can eat. Service is friendly, the manager and chef both came by to check on us, and the staff was never far away if you needed something. Definitely our new place to go in Flower Mound."

  • "What a lovely surprise to find an oasis of fine dining in a busy shopping area. Our waiter was helpful in tchoosing wines and beer for the table and explaining the specials and menu choices. The entire experience was delightful and we found ourselves watching the entrees others ordered and planning what we'd have next time we visit Twelve Stones. Congratulations Chef on a wonderful new dining experience."

  • "Overall the night was good.My major complaint was that I had to ask 3X to get the parmesan garlic fries because they were only “bar items”.to supplement I ordered the regular salad. Only after I asked to speak to the manager did I get my fries but then they didn’t comp the salad and I was stuck paying for the salad , which I really didn’t want, and the dang fries. The other strange thing was that I saw the chef walking around asking patrons how there meals were yet he never came to our table. Which isn’t a reason not to go eat there but I thought it was odd simply because I have received that type of service when eating at Fearing’s, Pyles, and Abacus all in the last year. Also it seemed like our server just disappeared for about 15 min."

  • "Party of 4. Bland pasta/chicken special 18$. Roasted chicken and the salmon entrées just average. Deviled eggs not special. Out of choices of red wine 'by the glass'. Restaurant too loud, couldn't carry on a conversation. Over priced for what you get. Rather eat a Z grill. Dessert menu looked good, wasn't worth the risk. Too bad, live near by."

  • "Wow! What a great find!! Food is highest quality - farm to table. Dishes are creative, delicious and well thought-out. The owner/chef came to our table a couple of times to make sure everything was perfect. Service was incredible - attentive without being in our faces. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and was very good at helping pair wines with our food. We came back after a movie for dessert. It was well worth our time. Both the blueberry cobbler with buttermilk ice cream and the peppered cheesecake with candied jalapeño were fantastic! This restaurant is one of the two best we have found in the Metroplex over the last 7 years. We will definitely be back here - and will come often!"

We started with the fried green tomatoes, and my husband had the ceaser salad and the rib eye and I had the pork chop with the chorizo risotto, amazing! We shared their pepper cheese cake which was house-made and delightful! Strongly recommend and plan to come back many more times to try more of their menu! Great service, chef came to the table to chat and the food was delicious! The bar look real nice and comfortable, Steve and I will love to come for Happy Hour in the future too! Yvonne Stewart"

  • "My husband and I tried Twelve Stones on our 30th Anniversary. The food was WONDERFUL. We started with calamari; my husband is usually not a fan but he was literally scraping up the last morsels! Calamari was fresh with a light batter and served piping hot. I ordered the market fish, which was snapper, and it was out of this world. It was served on top of butternut squash and had a light sauce underneath. I cleaned my plate. My husband ordered the rib eye; it was one of the best steaks he's ever eaten. I tried a bite and sighed with delight. Service was attentive without being intrusive. We loved this place and will be back"

  • "This was our first time at 12 Stones. The ambience was calm and conversational. It is not overly complicated or stuffy. I had the butternut squash soup as an app. It was smooth with a flavor that allowed the sweet natural flavor of the squash to shine. As a main I delighted in the "Surf and Turf." With tender baby carrots, spinach that was perfectly sautéed in butter and mash potatoes that kept my wife interested in my plate, the apple smoked "turf" stopped me in my tracks, made me roll my eyes and say "damn that's good!" Paired with a Argentinean Malbec this was the best meal I have had in quite some time. I would like to tell about my wife's meal but I ran out of space. Go to 12 Stones you will not be disappointed. Ask for Brenda."

  • "Talk about being blown away! From the moment we walked in, we were treated like royalty. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive. The bartender was very, very passionate about the wines and made it a point to come to our table, serve us and educate us on our selection. The food was absolutely phenomenal and the presentation was perfect! Our special highlight was when the chef/owner came to our table to make sure that we enjoyed our meal and to thank us for coming in. We will definitely be back for dinner and can't wait to try their happy hour!"

  • "The Spring menu will be ushered in shortly, yet, there is still time to enjoy the current dishes. Dinner was quite good and service was an excellent example of teamwork. We have eaten here numerous times and it seems that the food was again some of the best we have had, there seemed to be a slight drop off in terms of presentation and level of quality from prior experiences. Level 4 versus prior 5 for food. It seemed they stayed busy for the hours we were."

It may have been my oversight but we went for Valentine's and I thought the regular menu was available. However, it was a fixed menu with 4 courses, more than we would generally order and rather pricey (as were some other restaurant options that we skipped). I will likely return to the restaurant but not for a special "holiday" menu."

  • "Saturday night dinner, so it was busy and that was great. Although the menu is short, it does provide with enough choice. Food was good (filet was a tight dry... not over cooked, just seemed dry). What I really liked was the care & love every one puts in there. From the manager, to Eric the bartender and the server who truly seems to care and manage the guest expectations. Seeing the chef work the room was refreshing and means he cares. Good job and keep it up !!"

  • "Solid 3 star experience. Great food in very small, almost stingy, portions. The prices are high in comparison to the competition in Dallas Fort Worth. Service started slow but overall was acceptable. Unfortunately the value is low here. We wanted it to be better since Flower Mound is in such need of this type of restaurant. Dined with another couple and we all agreed the pours at the bar are simply not acceptable for the prices charged. Wine, bourbon, and mixed drinks are all poured extremely small/weak. Not a comparison to the value of other high-end restaurants within 20 miles. Assume that is how they can get away with the pricing since there is no real local competition. We hope they fix these issues. Will try again."

  • "Nice selection of martini's and 'prohibition cocktails' to choose from... Wine list is a bit limited. Mixed greens salad was good but nothing great. Nice selection of 'home made' breads. 6oz filet was tender and tasty (cooked medium). Chipotle-Honey Grilled Salmon was a bit undercooked to my liking (requested 'medium', but was more like medium rare). I didn't taste any Chipotle and the strong taste of the brussel sprouts overpowered the dish. The chef enjoys offering unique flavor combinations. Some hit / other miss... A nice neighborhood find in an otherwise unremarkable strip-mall location."

  • "We've been three times since Twelve Stones opened, and have had a great experience each time. The food's been consistently excellent, particularly the salads & appetizers. The special Valentine's menu also really excelled. Even better is the services. Our servers have all been friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The chef, David, has also come out to the dining room to talk to the customers every time we've been in. He really makes the whole place feel great. You can tell it's a true labor of love for him. The bartender is also excellent. Good cocktails and wine & beer selections, and he knows his single malt Scotch as well. We can't wait to see the new menu based on spring ingredients when it changes."
