  • "Our first visit, but we'll definitely go back. The potato leek soup was excellent. My wife had the scallops, which were prepared perfectly. I had the crab cakes, and I must say they were the best I've had at any restaurant not near a shoreline - very little filler, lots of lump crab meat. We shared the black pepper cheesecake, and it was very, very good. Our server, Tien, was excellent, the ambiance was nice. There was a singer playing contemporary music on an electric piano. Nice, but a little loud for my taste - we were directly across from her, and had to raise our voices slightly to have a private conversation. Entree prices are generally in the upper 20's, but well worth it. Very nice experience. Highly recommended."

  • "Considering the venue, a bit pricey. The food is fantastic and on par with finer steakhouses. I hope the chef is successful and able to relocate into more suitable surroundings. The venue lends more to cozy than romantic or business related. The service on my visit was painfully slow. With reservations, and arriving 15 mins prior to the reservation time, the wait was more than 20 mins after the time the reservation was set for. There were issues with the server I was told that delayed the check for at least 20 mins. The chef made efforts to visit each table for feedback and personally thank everyone for their patronage. That was a nice personalization I thought . But in all fairness the dishes were well prepared and worthy of acclaim."

  • "Celebrated our anniversary there. The food was great and our steaks incredibly tender. It was also very nice that David Burdick came out to talk to us (and other guests). The Servers were polite and efficient, while not being intrusive. We are definitely planning on going back again. It is so nice to have a local restaurant to go to that isn't a cookie-cutter chain."

  • "The dinner had its positives and negatives. We had to wait 10 minutes or so for our server to get to our table, but the chef heard of our wait and brought us an appetizer. The server had to be reminded to bring a salad, but the salad was delicious. My guest's asparagus was undercooked. Overall, there are much better New American restaurants out there, but for Flower Mound, it is a nice change of pace from the limited choices. It is comparable in price to what you would expect from restaurants with similar cuisines, but without the pomp and formality."

  • "...but please reduce salt usage! We've been twice now, ordering calamari our first trip and fried green tomatoes on this trip. I love salt and even I could tell it was overdone. Even steaks are salty. I love this restaurant, fabulous menu and prohibition cocktails! But my wife will probably only give it one more try before she bails if food remains so salty. I suppose we could ask for reduced salt when ordering, but I suspect the seasoning for the fried apps can't be altered."

  • "A varied selections of both starters and entrees. Group experienced and shared in the spring menu of the pork chop, chicken, crab cakes and hangar steak. All were outstanding. The pinot noir we had complemented all meals. Dessert was shared with the blueberry crisp with homemade ice cream along with the bread pudding with coffee ice cream."

  • "I dined there for dinner around 6:00pm. There were < 10 other diners when I was seated. The tables were close so private conversations would be hard. Wait staff was sufficient. My meal was a mixed green salad with pine nuts, entree of chicken fettuccine with pesto, and chocolate cake for dessert. The cocktail I had was a cucumber jalapeño martini. The salad, dessert, and cocktail were good. The entree was mediocre. There was way too much pesto and oil, and the fettuccine tasted starchy. The waiter could have been more attentive as I had to wait awhile between courses. I don't drink wine but it appeared that other waiters around me were knowledgable and that their selection was varied. I will try it again for lunch to see if it is better."

  • "After hearing about 12 Stones, I thought I would check it out for myself. What I found was that, while the staff and Owner were friendly, the staff was slow, forgetful and frustrating. The food was good, not great (and the portions small) much like many "High End" restaurants, but the service was un-believably bad. My expectations would be that if you are going to pay $150 for 2 people to order a Salmon dish (and have 2 glasses of house wine each) that the service would be outstanding and that the servers would be on the ball....this was not the case. Given the "value to benefit ratio" that I experienced, I will not be returning unless I am certain that things have changed."

  • "Fourth or fifth visit - this time on a busy Friday evening. Great to see it busy, this place needs to succeed and stay around for a long time. Usual amazing and innovative cocktails from Scott at the bar, with explanations for WHY they are built and layered as they are. Fun, quirky service from our server - and everything we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. I had the crab cakes, which were great - not humdrum breadcrumb patties at all, but full of sweet tender crab. Their bread pudding and maple ice cream is to die for! Great place for a romantic dinner or to meet up with foodie friends. Bring people from Dallas and show them we have an awesome chef-driven restaurant in the NW suburbs!!"

  • "This restaurant meets all the qualifications for trendy! Chalk board signage, Edison bulb fixtures, rustic chic decor, low key and classy atmosphere. I loved the restaurant from the moment my husband and I walked in. Outside of the trendiness, the reason I was at this establishment was for the food. Thankfully, the satisfaction did not stop at "the look," the food was actually really good! To top off the experience the chef/owner made his rounds to greet each table. I love when this happens, it makes you feel special (which sounds cheesy but whatever)! But it didn't stop there. This dedicated owner/chef worked the room, from refilling drinks to seating incoming guests. It was impressive and humble. Hats off to this place."

  • "I enjoyed the food, decor, and personal & friendly service. Nice place that has unfortunately outpriced itself from a return. Was about $30-$40 too much when compared to a III Forks or Brazilian Steakhouse. For that $ I will drive the extra 20 minutes. When the novelty of a new place in town wears off I think there will be a big drop off in business, which would be unfortunate for this nice restaurant and good effort. Hopefully they will adjust before they just fall off that cliff with low return rates."

  • "Has been open for a little under a year with the premise they will change their menu with every season change. Their current menu is outstanding. Scott, the bartender, will make you cocktails found usually only in downtown Dallas. The bar area is outstanding. It's nice to drive to a local place and get the same food/drink as some of the in places in downtown , without the stuffiness. "

  • "Hassled when we first walked in about wanting to sit in a booth in a completely empty restaurant. Said booths were reserved an hour later and that it would take at least two hours for us to eat. We were done in an hour. Best-selling wine was sold out. This was a Saturday night before a holiday weekend. Seems as if the bar would've been better prepared. Food was served lukewarm. Portion sizes were small. But waiter told us we would not need sides as what we ordered was a lot of food. That was not the case. For example applesauce listed as a side with the bone in pork chop was literally just three drops on the plane. More for show. Could eat at Bob's for about the same amount and food, portion sizes, would have been much better. Won't be back"

  • "This was our first time dining at Twelve Stones. The smoked 10oz filet was very tender and flavorful. The salmon special was also very good. The wine list was somewhat limited but we were able to find a nice pairing. The 2-top table was too small, which required some shuffling during the meal. Seating was also a bit tight, but you do get a chance to meet your neighbors. Overall it was a good experience, and we will return."

The bar area consists of a large array of liquor choices with a mixologist named Scott who is very knowledgeable and strives to enhance your visit with new and different cocktail choices.   • "I was skeptical about a nice resturant being in the same parking lot as a super market. However, I was pleasently surprised. My wife had steak and I had salmon. Both were excellent, by any standard. Sides were delicious. It was loud and there is a very limited wine list, but the food was as good as I have eaten anywhere. Reasonable prices too. "
