Diner Reviews
  • "This was our second visit & it was still very good. I had the Corvina Ceviche with the coconut lime dressing and Hawaiian sweet potatoes it was amazing, For the entre I had the short rib, very rich, a tad heavy on the smoke but otherwise delightful. My husband had the seared Loin & Tuna Tartare and his entre was Crispy-skinned Filet of Loup (Wolf Fish) with bouillabaisse infused couscous, littleneck claims, caramelized fennel he loved just wish it was warmer. We shared the house made trio of ice creams and it was excellent. All in all another beautiful evening before going to a concert."

  • "It was wonderful; they called an hour before we arrived asking if we were attending a sporting event or theater so that they would make sure to have us out in time to our show. We did the chief tasting menu, it was delightful the amuse bouche a ceviche, with a lovely coconut lime dressing was heavenly, a few items were not my favorite, our waiter was spot on & noticed I did not care for the cod fish croquettes & replaced them with small plate of cheese was good. The view inside & out romantic, sunset just happened to be picture perfect. The wine list is limited but enough of a selection to appeal to most wine lovers. Great for a special event &/or just to sit and see the city beautiful and delight in a tasting future Chef’s evolution."

  • "So rare in Miami to get a fine dining service where the staff truly treats you like a valued guest. The staff at Tuyo has been consistently enthusiastic, thoughtful and knowledgable. In short, real dine dining professionals. The ambience is romantic and relaxed second to none. And of course, the food.....out of this world. All at a reasonable price! Dinner for two with wine, desert and gratuity was $180, which is more affordable than a lot of places in this town where they treat you like cattle.... Tuyo......go there!!"

  • "Extraordinary experience at all levels. The attitude of the staff was cordial & respectful but friendly and approachable. We had the tasting menu which was exquisite, without exceptions. The noise level, thankfully, was such that one could hold a conversation without screaming. The music was also delightful. Overall superlative!"

  • "Arriving as they opened at 6pm worked perfectly for a pre-theater dinner before Arsht. On Sat we even found parking on the street. Our waiter was delightful and the servers were courteous & friendly. Service was not speedy, but that is not why you would come here -- more for a relaxed meal and a chance to take in view of Miami. Was lovely to watch changing sky as the sun set. We had salmon & snapper both cooked well & as we requested, snapper came w/latin accents; salmon with spring themed veggies & more "american" prep. We opted for dessert over appetizers-the chocolate lava cake with raspberry 'lava' and kahlua ice cream ended the meal nicely. Excellent for a quiet meal, relaxed, tasty, creative, good wine options."

  • "From the moment my husband and I walked in the door, we were treated like VIPs! The view from the eighth floor is spectacular.! The service is impeccable! We never had to ask for more water or bread. They brought a special little appetizer from the Chef before we even saw the menu! The appetizers are very unusual. My husband and I ordered one each and were very pleased. My salad had a brown piece of lettuce in it. I showed it to the waitress and within minutes, the Manager was at my table apologizing and offering to take it off the bill. But instead, I just wanted some more lettuce, so she brought me a new mini salad! For our main courses we both ordered a fish dinner. Both were delicious, and healthy ."

  • "Food was wonderful. Service was wonderful. Ambience was wonderful. Great view of the downtown area at night from any table. It is a limited seating restaurant so its quiet enough to have a conversation with each other or friends. Not over the top prices. All in all we thought it was wonderful."

  • "Gorgeous view of Miami at this restaurant. Very quiet with wonderful service. Husband loved his "fish sticks" appetizer. Be aware that portions can be on the small side. When reservation was confirmed I was asked if we were celebrating anything, and I said we were celebrating my birthday. When we arrived, the hostess very nicely wished my a "happy birthday", but that was it! I thought the restaurant might offer a complimentary dessert or drink, but this didn't happen...so why ask about celebrations??? Service was very good and food presentations are quite nice."

  • "This is an "interesting" experience - they try hard but since I like pure and simple food the attempt at uber foodie complicated dishes was not my love. Pretty views but strange entry for such a trying to be elegant place with such high prices. You enter what looks like a prison and the guard did not even know what floor the restaurant was on even thought it is the only thing open in the whole building of 8 stories. A sort of strange experience. One of our party of 4 loved it, the rest were neutral to negative. Food was great quality ( great meat and fish) but over prepared with too many embellishments that disguised the essence of the ingredients."

  • "Great restaurant with awesome views of the city. Pricey!!! Had my anniversary dinner there and for such an occasion is ok, just beware. The service was superb and the ambience/deco is very cool."

  • "Went on a Friday night with another couple. Easy to find and valet right in front of door. Beautiful decor. Food was excellent, especially the tuna loin appetizer. Main course was snapper which was perfectly prepared. The ladies had butternut squash that was excellent!!! Try the macadamia cruch ice cream and coffee ice cream in particular...great. Overall a hidden gem that I just recently heard about and will definitely be going back!!"

  • "Tuyo is a great restaurant if you want to have a fancy night out or celebrate a nice occasion. Be ready to spend as it is pretty pricey. But worth the price and you will not leave disappointed. Great Views and very attentive service. Staff is knowledgeable of what they serve and the chefs only cook with fresh ingredients delivered on same day."

  • "Loved the intimate size of the place. Very pleasant for couples to have conversation. Great view of the city. And to top it off the food was delicious! The snapper and black bass were amazing. The squash soup and snapper appetizer were also very good. Service was excellent."

  • "Nestled atop Miami-Dade College Wolfson Campus, I had a 5 star dining experience like no other! The mix up where I received soup instead of salad was handled flawlessly by our server, Eric. The bartender deserves applause for the Pacific Rim cocktail and the chef gets a standing ovation for steak which I shamelessly devoured in record time. A retun visit to TUYO is in order."

  • "Un lugar especial, con una vista privilegiada. La carta es corta, pero de muy buena calidad. Los ingredientes son frescos y perfectamente combinados. La atención estuvo muy buena, fui por mi cumpleaños y fue una muy buena elección!"

  • "It's definetelly very romantic for an special occasion , but the quality of the food has gone down hill within the past 3 months . We asked for the sea bass and the snapper either one was fresh and either one had any taste. It felt that they were put on a microwave and yo your table. There was only another table with a party of 2 and us. Although that was the case last time we were there in ictober and when we walked in on a Thursday evening there was only a couple of tables we almost left but decided to give it a try, and we were so glad back then we did . This time we made a huge mistake. Definetelly not coming back or recommending it."

  • "We enjoyed the view, the service, the meal, and the romantic setting of TUYO You have a view of the Port of Miami, AA Arena, Freedom Tower, ARSHT CEnter and much more. The setting is very romantic and quiet from the entrance to the table overlooking Miami. We have found a place to take our-of-towners to 'show off' Miami."

  • "As soon as we got off the elevator we were greeted and seated. The service was on point, the food was excellent and the view was delightful. Overall, the atmosphere and experience was incredible. I don't dine out frequently so I don't have very much to compare it too but I can definitely say this was one of the best dining experiences I have had in Miami. Highly recommend it."

  • "Although Tuyo is upstairs from the Miami Culinary Institute, it is independent and all the kitchen and waiting staff are fully professional. All the tables have a great view over Freedom Tower, looking uptown. The atmosphere is subdued, and the tables are not crowded together, in summary a very pleasant place to dine. The menu, while not extensive is creative, and the waiters know it well. We keep it on our list of places to return to."

  • "From the moment we walked in, we were greeted , welcomed and whisked away to our table with an amazing view of the downtown Miami Skyline! The servers were all very welcoming and took the time to introduce us to the choices available from the varied menu. We chose the Chefs Tasting menu with a with 7 different dishes including dessert, which was delectable and delicious. Then came dessert...... The Chocolate Goddess Bar (Chocolate layered cake with Ganach topping) and Ginger Ice Cream. OMG!!!! It was indeed an amazing night where our taste buds very constantly being tantalized!!! A first class dining experience soon to be repeated!"

  • "Our kids were going to the Miami Heat game 0,2 miles away so we decided to try Tuyo. What a great decision. The views of the Port of Miami are spectacular. You ride up to the 8th floor and are greeted by a lovely hostess. Since we had plenty of time we did the tasting Menu. It was five courses (not bite size like you expect with a tasting Menu). Dishes included butternut squash, "fish stcks" with salad, snapper, short ribs and a delicious dessert. All served with perfect timing and elegance. All of the dishes were on the regular menu as well so if you just want two bigger courses you could do that as well. I recommend this place without question. We come from New York and a dinner like this would be double the price there."

  • "I went on a dinner date and I was looking for something romantic. This place is on top of Miami Culinary Institute located downtown Miami. The dining hall is fairly small, nevertheless with an awesome ambiance. Low light, nice fireplace and awesome scenery, as it overlooks the American Airlines Arena and The Freedom Tower. Small menu, but the food was great, my only complaint would be that the steak came out cooked medium well instead of medium. Nice wine list as well, great service! Kitchen closes at 10pm. I recommend this place for special occasions or for intimate dinners."

  • "only reason to go is excellent food and very friendly service. Very plain restaurant, views depending on table outstanding. Nice change to overpriced, overly loud, average food restaurants on Mia beach. As said if I want gourmet dining my first choice!!!!!"

  • "We were blown away by the Foi Gras French Toast appetizer and found our main courses --Brazilian-style lobster tail and grilled chicken with risotto-- to be equally delicious. The view of downtown Miami is impressive and the atmosphere is romantic and cozy. Definitely a place to bring someone you would like to impress! Best of all, the staff members were extremely nice, very accommodating and completely lacking in the typical Miami attitude. The food is pricey, but well worth it, and parking was free."
