A word from Tutti Matti
Tutti Matti serves traditional, authentic Tuscan cuisine, prepared using only fresh seasonal ingredients.
Everything is made in house, including our fresh breads and pastas. Some dishes are permanent productions of our kitchen — gnudi, pinci, papardelle, tagliatelle. Others are more seasonal, like stuffed zucchini flowers in the summers and polpetta and hearty soups in the winter. From day one, we have served venison, wild boar, fennel pork sausage and we love to produce delectable trays of antipasto, which change seasonally and daily (sometimes even mid‐service!)
Discover a great list of Italian wines, carefully selected to match the flavours and spirit of Tuscan food.
Tutti Matti has been hailed by critics and received both local and national awards, including the prestigious 2009 "L'Eccio D'Oro" for Osteria of the Year (an award previously won by Mario Batali and Alain Ducasse).
Located downtown Toronto, steps from the Theatre / Entertainment districts.

If you like unique meat dishes that are unusual but excellent quaility, that this is the place. We went expecting a typical Italian type restaurant, with some variation perhaps, but were surprised at the creativity of the dishes and high level of quality. If you are a foodie looking for a interesting place to go, that this should be on the top of the list. It has been a long time since I actually chatted with the chef at the table about the dish and how it was prepared - an added bonus to the experience.

Good food true to Tuscan food principles (local fresh ingredients, cooked to bring out the natural flavour). Had burrata as antipasto, wild mushroom parpadelle as primo and grilled Mediterranean sea bass as secondo - all were delicious. The baby grilled vegetables accompanying the fish were also excellent. The wine list has a lot of high end Italian wine, with a few at a lower price point - very knowledgeable chef/owner who was onsite and offered some good wine suggestions. Good list of wines by the glass.

My recent visits to Tutti Matti have been amazing. From the moment that you enter, you are immediately welcomed by polite and friendly staff; and your senses are overtaken by the wonderful aromas enveloping the quiet and warm inner space. Service is expeditous and timing of food delivery is impeccable. Food quality, preparation and the diversity / complexity of flavours is perect given that the owner is passionate - that is clearly observed. Food and alcohol pricing is more than fair (they could easily increase pricing by 10 - 20%) for the overall experience. Return patrons fill the restaurant - return patrons are easily identifiable by the warm and friendly exchanges between patron, chef / owner and staff. Prior to this recent visit, I attended Tutti Matti for an October 2014 business lunch - I had not been to the restaurant since 2008 - The owner completely recognized me from 2008 when I visited with my wife - now that is something that really blows my mind and I am now committed to revisting much more regularly. Thank you for a first class experience. I tip my hat to the Tutti Matti Team. Respectfully Yours, A Newly Devoted Customer.

I've only been here for lunch time. Food is excellent! I love their pastas! They also have a reasonably priced prix-fixed lunch menu. The service is attentive and not intrusive. Had a great experience the first time coming here and have now brought others to enjoy this fine restaurant.

I have had dinner here a few times in the last year and I want to like it more than I have. I like the ambiance and the menu. It was a little loud. It was not too loud for me but I may hesitate bringing my parents for a weekend dinner. However the food is a little "hit or miss." Among the diners at the table - we each had varying reactions to our respective courses - some dishes were very good and some were merely decent. Unfortunately, it was the server's recommendations that tended to be the weaker dishes. I think the restaurant space is stylish without being pretentious. The service has always been very good - dish suggestions aside. Notwithstanding, I would go back but it would not be my first choice.

This place has got it all figured out. Don't expect to be asked how your food was or if everything was to your satisfaction, because they are already on to the next thing. The food itself was ok, but the pasta portions are small. For over $20 a pasta dish, they could afford a few more noodles.

Went for lunch with a friend to celebrate her bday. We opted for the a la carte menu but they do offer a $20 lunch prix fixe. Started with the crostini with roasted peppers and buffalo mozzarella drizzled with olive oil/balsamic vinegar. Simple but amazing with use of high quality olive oil. Shared the pappardelle con stracotto.. the pulled brisket was very tasty and melt in your mouth. I had the porchetta di maremma while my friend ordered the costole di manzo. We ended up sharing the dishes. All we could say was OMG!! How delicious!! Having been to Tuscany last year, I can honestly say the food here is true to the region. They use the freshest of ingredients and you can tell with each bite. Will be coming back soon.

On this night the place was so loud to the point where I couldn't wait to get the bill and leave. But, for the last part of our meal, we were basically ignored. Our appetizers were very good. We had wonderful Porchetta Di Maremma and Anatra. For Primo, we had Polenta with braised rabbit and Pinci. Both were good. The Pinci better than the rabbit. For desert, my spouse had the Bombolone which was a treat. I was hoping for a non-dairy gelato....no luck and no counter offer of fruit or anything for me. But, the real disappointment was the Cinghiale. It took nearly a half hour to get it, and second there was virtually no meat and all fat....for a pricy $30. My recommendation is to go earlier in the evening and stick to the appetizers.

As always the main staples at Tutti Matti do not disappoint. The porchetta marema is delectable. So much so, that we had to order another portion. In addition, the short ribs are exquisite and the new ribs on the menu were a party for the palate. However, the desert was very disappointing. We ordered the Torta Della Nonna (a classic Italian desert) and to our dismay it was served "deconstructed." News flash, Italian's don't serve deconstructed dishes. Overall the food is delicious but more notably, the service was outstanding. Andrea is a gem as a waiter and one of the main reasons we continue to return to this restaurant.

Tutti Matti was recommended to me while I was on tour in Italy - from a resident in Montalcino who knows the chef/owner and could vouch for the authenticity of the cuisine. On return to Toronto, made a reservation for lunch and was not disappointed. The food was exception and the prix fixe a bargain with just right portions and balance. The pasta of the day was excellent as I am sure that it is everyday. The signature pork sandwich very tasty and unique - great ambience and service, although the restaurant was very busy. Glad we have found Tutti Matti, "authentic" Italian food representative of Montalcino in Tuscany right here in Toronto!

I have to say that the food was absolutely amazing!!!! Would definitely go back. I also loved the atmosphere. One note is that we were there for summerlicious and were on a timeline. We work at King and Bay so the walk to and from was a bit long. We ran out of time for dessert and even though we said it was ok and declined dessert, our server insisted on packing up our dessert for us. Am I ever glad she did.

I understand that it was summerlicious and being a group of 5 the service was bound to be a little slower than usual but our server was none existent. We had to ask to order drinks and then again to order food. She stated the specials incorrectly and was chewing gum loudly. She didn't remember what anybody ordered and had to tell her where to place everything. We got some attitude when we asked to order like if we were putting her out of her way. It took forever to pay the bill. Hopefully next time we'll get a more experienced server....if there is a next time.

We had sth to catch up at 8pm so I told the server to get us the dessert assp when it was 7:40pm. The server looked really really anxious for us and then run to the back to get us the food. I was so touched with this: best service ever! But the food... is not as good. I think the portion is too small... I got very hungry at 11pm after having 3 courses at 8pm... I don't know whether this is because of the Summerlicious thing... But overall, I feel good.

We had fantastic service. Our waiter was just the right level of attentive, giving us time to talk and eat, but still keeping things moving at an appropriate pace. The food itself was also fantastic. Personally, I had the prosciutto and mozzarella appetizer, which was delicious. My honey glazed pork chop main was cooked perfectly and was incredible- my brother had the same for his main and said the same things, so they're definitely consistent as well. The only disappointment I had was my dessert. The chocolate and rice torta was very well made and nice texturally but it didn't have a lot of flavour. This may have been a personal taste issue- the other two desserts that were tried by my dining companions and both were enjoyed immensely.

Had dinner at Tutti Matti recently. Service was friendly and professional. Room was pretty basic in terms of decor. Food was very expensive for the small portions received. Every dish was under-seasoned which made for a bland dinner. This was particularly noticeable with the pasta course. The pasta water was not salted enough, and the finished pasta (noodles and sauce) lacked flavour. I had read good reviews of Tutti Matti, however, my experience was disappointing. Will not go back and will not recommend.

It's to bad the restaurants decor does not reflect the quality of it's food. But rather pay for excellent food than decor.

We eat at Tutti Matti almost once per week. Chef Alida Solomon's cooking is truly authentic. Her portions are meant such that you can enjoy an appetizer, main and dessert. Split one of the pastas before your main if you are truly hungry. There are always a couple of specials that augment the already solid menu. Seneca is one of the best front of the house guys that we've ever met. Engage with the wait staff, chat with the Chefs at their open kitchen and enjoy truly solid northern Italian cooking.
