A word from Tutti Matti
Tutti Matti serves traditional, authentic Tuscan cuisine, prepared using only fresh seasonal ingredients.
Everything is made in house, including our fresh breads and pastas. Some dishes are permanent productions of our kitchen — gnudi, pinci, papardelle, tagliatelle. Others are more seasonal, like stuffed zucchini flowers in the summers and polpetta and hearty soups in the winter. From day one, we have served venison, wild boar, fennel pork sausage and we love to produce delectable trays of antipasto, which change seasonally and daily (sometimes even mid‐service!)
Discover a great list of Italian wines, carefully selected to match the flavours and spirit of Tuscan food.
Tutti Matti has been hailed by critics and received both local and national awards, including the prestigious 2009 "L'Eccio D'Oro" for Osteria of the Year (an award previously won by Mario Batali and Alain Ducasse).
Located downtown Toronto, steps from the Theatre / Entertainment districts.

Diner Reviews
  • "I understand that it was summerlicious and being a group of 5 the service was bound to be a little slower than usual but our server was none existent. We had to ask to order drinks and then again to order food. She stated the specials incorrectly and was chewing gum loudly. She didn't remember what anybody ordered and had to tell her where to place everything. We got some attitude when we asked to order like if we were putting her out of her way. It took forever to pay the bill. Hopefully next time we'll get a more experienced server....if there is a next time."

  • "We were throughly impressed not only by the attentive service we receied from our waiter but also by the food. We were seated promptly upon arriaval, and from that moment, our waiter along with all of the other staff there were very attentive. At one point, i turned out to check out the restaurant, and the waiter thought there there was something wrong, and rushed over to make sure we were fine. The food was also fresh and tasted just awsome :) we will surely return!"

  • "We had sth to catch up at 8pm so I told the server to get us the dessert assp when it was 7:40pm. The server looked really really anxious for us and then run to the back to get us the food. I was so touched with this: best service ever! But the food... is not as good. I think the portion is too small... I got very hungry at 11pm after having 3 courses at 8pm... I don't know whether this is because of the Summerlicious thing... But overall, I feel good."

  • "We had fantastic service. Our waiter was just the right level of attentive, giving us time to talk and eat, but still keeping things moving at an appropriate pace. The food itself was also fantastic. Personally, I had the prosciutto and mozzarella appetizer, which was delicious. My honey glazed pork chop main was cooked perfectly and was incredible- my brother had the same for his main and said the same things, so they're definitely consistent as well. The only disappointment I had was my dessert. The chocolate and rice torta was very well made and nice texturally but it didn't have a lot of flavour. This may have been a personal taste issue- the other two desserts that were tried by my dining companions and both were enjoyed immensely."

  • "Our visit to Tutti Matti was in thanks to the Summerlicious event. The food was very tasty and artistically presented but the portions were very small leaving us contemplating grabbing a snack at another restaurant. It was very loud inside with all the chatter and a pretty difficult to carry on a conversation."

  • "Food chosen was excellent and portions abundant. Service was excellent and our waiter suggested the wine which was a perfect fit with the food we ordered and reasonably priced. It's to bad the restaurants decor does not reflect the quality of it's food. But rather pay for excellent food than decor."

  • "Had dinner at Tutti Matti recently. Service was friendly and professional. Room was pretty basic in terms of decor. Food was very expensive for the small portions received. Every dish was under-seasoned which made for a bland dinner. This was particularly noticeable with the pasta course. The pasta water was not salted enough, and the finished pasta (noodles and sauce) lacked flavour. I had read good reviews of Tutti Matti, however, my experience was disappointing. Will not go back and will not recommend."

  • "The menu is a little on the adventurous side. However, we loved everything that we ordered"

  • "I should preface by saying that I love Tuscan food, but even so, the food was delicious"

  • "We eat at Tutti Matti almost once per week. Chef Alida Solomon's cooking is truly authentic. Her portions are meant such that you can enjoy an appetizer, main and dessert. Split one of the pastas before your main if you are truly hungry. There are always a couple of specials that augment the already solid menu. Seneca is one of the best front of the house guys that we've ever met. Engage with the wait staff, chat with the Chefs at their open kitchen and enjoy truly solid northern Italian cooking. Molto bene!"

  • "Difficult to find anything to criticize. Everything was excellent and had a very enjoyable evening."

  • "This was our second time at Tutti Matti (we live in another province). The food is outstanding and you will enjoy items you do not find in other Italian restaurants. The appetizer daily specials are very unique. Outstanding, knowledgable service compliments the food and wine perfectly. "

  • "Service was at the top. Food was very good. Not a ton of it. Price was a bit Rich. "

  • "Traditional Tuscan dishes prepared perfectly. Sophisticated and very efficient service. The $20 prix fixe is one of Toronto's best bargains. Tutti Matti is one of Toronto's very best restaurants and deserves a lot more accolades and a lot more customers."

  • "We were in Toronto from Edmonton for four days, and Tutti Matti was recommended to us. It was an amazing spot for a special Italian dinner, with outstanding food and service. It brought back memories of our trip to Italy the month before. It did get a tad noisy towards the latter part of our evening, eliminating the ability to have a private conversation. However, we would go back, given the opportunity as the food and service really was Outstanding!"

  • "The beef carpaccio was spectacular. The rest was very, very good. "

  • "Tutti Matti is consistently great. The menu changes, so it makes sense to check out new flavours. It's rare that we are not moaning about something. Our waitress was wonderful and very knowledgeable about the menu and the wine. We had fish and it was prepared to perfection. The pasta was outstanding. We are bringing other friends next week. "

  • "Hi! Every single dish was on point! Perfectly balanced and had a purpose. When it was all said and done the dinner was followed up by the most perfect tiramasu. Thank You for focusing on the guests and delivering memorable food."

  • "Tutti Matti is on a bland stretch of Adelaide which is even more forgettable due to the endless construction in the area. Which is a shame because I find the food to be consistently excellent and so superior to the other restaurants along the same stretch of king west."

  • "Food was delicious. Everything is freshly made in house. Service was ok. A bit slow, had to ask for more bread, poured our own wine. I can get over that cause we were having fun and were not in a rush. What disapointed me was that our server did not like that I asked to put the alcohol on a seperate bill. It seemed too complicated for her. Again, most restaurants in Toronto don't split bills but I think it's a shame when Micros and Maitre D' (computer systems used in most restaurants) makes it so easy for you to do so. Why is the customer accomodating the restaurant when it should be the other way around? We had a great welcome but leaving with a bad impression unfortunatly negates everything else out and does not entice you to go back. "

  • "This is a great restaurant, I'm so glad that I found it, brilliant service, great food, very relaxed and romantic setting just like the little Italian restaurants from the movies, I would highly recommend this restaurant "

  • "We had dinner there recently, and we had the short ribs, with the scallop dish. The short ribs and reduction were quite good, but unfortunately the wine by the glass wasn't memorable - in fact, the most expensive wine by the glass had to be sent back it was so terrible. Not off, just terrible. It was replaced with a Sangiovese, which was drinkable. The scallop appetizer was interesting, but the scallops were quite small and hard to identify. The dish just didn't present well, but was reasonably tasty. Overall, I was looking forward to a great dining experience, but was left wanting."

  • "Never dined before, took a chance on read reviews, and glade we did. The food was excellent, just portioned right and full of flavor. The service was excellent, always attentive to our needs and we never had to ask for anything as the waiter was always a step ahead. The chef was walking by and she even took time to tell us of her travels as we were admiring the photos in the dinning room. Will dine here again and again. "

  • "We had been to Tutti Matti for lunch and enjoyed it, but dinner was a different story. Slow service, barely Luke-warm food, scallops that were not fresh - chewy and fishy - and poor wines by the glass. Very poor value for the money. "

  • "The food is extravagant. The Chef is delightful. The service was exquisite. And the menu is always fresh. Every visit makes me fall in love with food again. P.S. Tutti Matti is a great place for enjoying the company of that special someone in your life."

  • "This was an expensive meal for us but the food was a special treat. Everything we ate was a little bit unusual and each bite got better. The very Italian waiter was a delight. Fun to be able to see in the kitchen. "

  • "Tutti Matti which roughly translates to "Everyone's Crazy" is a great place for those crazy about food; real food expertly prepared in ways you don't see every day. This is not a spaghetti and meatballs Italian restaurant. If you like food, you'll love Tutti Matti."
    Dined on 4/10/2014
  • "I was so impressed the first time that we came back. This time, the food was a let down. The pork special with porchetta and sausage was so disappointing. The sausage was salty and the porchetta was nothing but lard!! The fish special was bland and the potion quite small as a main dish. Given the past experience maybe it was an off night. We'll give them another chance but just one."

  • "The food is divine. The surface friendly, attentive, professional. It never disappoints. The tortellini (sp?) brings me back time and again."
    Dined on 4/5/2014
  • "Tutti Matti celebrates the cuisine of Tuscany in a city overrun by hundreds of red sauce, pesto and cream sauce overpriced pasta joints. The entire menu here speaks of fresh flavours, lovingly prepared and graciously served. If you are tired of the same old repeated Italian menu, come here to experience Italian cuisine at its highest level of expression. Both the menu and the wine list are carefully limited and curated and reflect the chef's passion to make everything as perfect ,as possible. However,if you are looking for a Caprese salad in February, along with pasta and clams in red sauce, this is not the spot for you."

  • "Decided to try out Tutti Matti for our Anniversary and it did not disappoint. Started with the Toscano (antipasta board) which had an excellent array of choices. We also tried a daily special appetizer which was fantastic (Crostini with pork, figs and cheese if I recall). The pasta are homemade and are very good, though portions a bit small (though more then enough for us by that point). we tried the Pinci which was recommend and excellent and then the Pear Ravioli which was good. Dessert we tried the Bombolone which was ok, though I suggest they serve it with gelato (for that price). We ordered gelato to go with it and it was better that way. Overall, the food was very good and we thoroughly enjoyed it."

  • "Although I had read the reviews, I was still a little skeptical on Tutti Matti. Fortunately, my skepticism was incorrect. We truly enjoyed our dining experience. Servers were very attentive, and knowledgable on the menu. The food was excellent and tasty. Would definitely recommend this place to our friends."

  • "Tutti Matti continues to serve up excellent, authentic Tuscan food. The night we were there the place filled up at 9pm with about 20 winemakers from Tuscany - cant get a better endorsement than that! One of Toronto's top sommeliers was also there."
    Dined on 3/10/2014
  • "Our group of 5 was able to sample almost half of the items on the menu, and we were all amazed at the authenticity of this fine Tuscan resto. The presentation of the inventive menu items was excellent, and only the best and freshest ingredients were used. The service was attentive and professional. My favourites: the porchetta in tuna sauce, the white anchovies in pesto, the octopus and pork belly, the venison and of course, the famous hand rolled pinci with wild boar ragu. When you're at this place, you can sense immediately that everyone there, be they staff or customers, are there for the love of the food and wonderful ambience. Bravo, Tutti Matti!"

  • "Before a Leaf Hockey game on a Saturday night, my buddy and I went here cause we know from previous dining it is always good. The server was unrushed as it was 6 pm and the place not very busy. We shared an antipasti which was clever, abundant and tasty. For mains we had pasta , which is reasonable fresh and home made. The mains were too expensive for us to consider. Everything went well and the serve even ventured out to the chilled night to fetch us a cab. How more Manhattan can you get than that. Go there..you won't be disappointed."
