A word from Tuscany Ristorante
Offering classic and authentic takes on Italian culinary creations, Tuscany Ristorante gives diners a casually upscale space to enjoy it all in. The modest dinner menu features a mix of dishes, like the classic Caesar salad, linguini with wild mushrooms and cold lobster tail, risotto with asparagus and shrimp, whole baby chicken, filet mignon and others. A small lunch menu makes for an inviting afternoon meal with the likes of ricotta cheese ravioli in vodka sauce and the foccaccina con pollo.

A selection of wines and other drinks provide a matched accompaniment to the cuisine, while the romantic and elegant setting can help give almost any occasion a nice touch. Tuscany Ristorante is highly rated by Zagat has a number of great reviews available online.

We visited Tuscany in its new location in Fairfield. In Bridgeport it had been a fine restaurant but grew tired and even a little dingy. Now it is in a bright new space, much more welcoming than the previous incarnation, though a little difficult to find if you don't know where it is (behind Billy's Bakery). The menu is fairly standard but well done. I do wish, however, that they would stop the pretentious nonsense carried over from the old Tuscany of bringing a tray of fresh pastas and explaining in tedious detail how each one can be served. But overall the place is worth a second visit and although I don't see it as a special occasion place it could be a very popular local restaurant.

Several friends have recommended dining at Tuscany in Bridgeport. And I was not disappointed. The food was outstanding. You can tell Tuscany uses fresh ingredients and all the pastas are homemade. Tuscany is moving to Fairfield, and we definately be repeat customers once their new restaurant has opened

For those who have enjoyed authentic Italian dining at Mulberry St in Manhattan and Arthur Av in the Bronx, we are lucky to have just as excellent a ristorante here in CT. Tuscany served their last exceptional meals at Madison Av on Mother's Day and the experience was rewarding with top-notch service and outstanding food with the best home-made pasta available. Looking forward to dining soon at their new location in Fairfield!

Portions were markedly smaller than in the past. It was more like profit control than calorie control. Sorry to hear you are moving further away, but we will continue to visit. Just bring food back to the plate!

Greatest Italian food you can find - homemade pastas, perfect sauces, sizeable portions for the price. Cannot be beat, AND, I was able to meet the owner and learned that they are re-locating to Black Rock in March 2013, will be even easier to get to!

Once again, the service was exceptional with the food nearly as high a level. The appetizers were a great way to start the meal with the stuffed mushroom and the eggplant rollatini, along with the knowledgeable waiter's recommended bottle of chianti for only $36. The risotto adriatico was a bit too salty, although very creamy and loaded with seafood, and the pasta special of shrimp with lobster saffron sauce was excellent. As always, the freshly made tiramisu ended the meal perfectly. Planning to save up for our next special occasion meal at Tuscany Ristorante!

Very disappointed in the food. Ordered saltimbacco in which sage is one of the main ingredients. There was none and, when asked about this, the hostess replied that people don't like it so they leave it out. Maybe that could have been forgiven but the veal was of poor quality without much taste. Service is accommodating and they try hArd to please.

  • This revisit, with my 87 yr.-old

This revisit, with my 87 yr.-old Italian mom, turned out to be a delightful dining experience for all. The service was considerate and attentive, without being interruptive or hasty. The fresh olives and warm bread are a nice start, the waiter's tableside display of appetizers and -later- pastas was helpful and attractive. Explanations of the evening's specials were clear but- alas- without accompanying prices, a troubling trend in many restaurants (can't we change this?). Most entrees fall between $17-25. Although our pasta dishes were generally a bit overcooked, the servings were plentiful, attractive and, most importantly, tasty. Undoubtedly, there will be take-home leftovers for even the heartiest appetites. My mom says she'll be back!

Found this restaurant on open table. Not very convenient parking if you are not familiar with the area. Service was less than desirable. Appetizer was great but server never came back to take order until after appetizer was finished. We then waited over an hour for the food to be served from that point. Could have been a better experience but it seemed like they were a little too busy for a Tuesday night and were not staffed accordingly.

This was our third visit to this restaurant and had reservations for Friday night. We particularly liked the inspired fresh made pasta dishes and the selection of specials was wonderful. The wine list is more than adequate and the service outstanding. This is gem of a restaurant.

This was previously my favorite Italian restaurant in Fairfield county. Unfortunately I have to say it no longer holds that status. The entrees and appetizers we had were things we had ordered before, and they were not up to the same quality that they typically are. Also the service, while very polite, was very slow and the waiter seemed constantly nervous and overwhelmed. I had to send back my side of broccoli rabe because it tasted old/unfresh and overcooked. While I'd still say the restaurant is "good" for a new diner, for those of us who have eaten there before it will definitely be a disappointment.

We had a reservation for 10 people but we ended up being 8 and we were put in a back room that was very noisy, plus the service was very slow and it seemed we had almost been forgotten. We ordered an antipasto misto plate which was average at best and ended up costing us $150! Some of us ordered appetizers and some appetizers and entrees, but we had no coffee or dessert and the overall price per couple was $150 which I think is outrageous for and average food establsihment. We won't be going back anytims soon.
