Diner Reviews
  • "The entire staff is amazing there! Food and service is always excellent!"

  • "Food was very good but not remarkable for the price. Had pasta and scallops which was nice, but sauce had a little too much hot pepper for me. Chocolate mousse cake was more like frosting than a mousse. Service was great. Waiter was very timely and staff kept our glasses full. Had a live band playing on a Saturday night. Overall, a good time."

  • "We we're visiting the Oakbrook area and wanted to find a local restaurant for a special evening out. For the atmosphere it was very reasonably priced. I could tell that there were some regulars that were recognized by the family of servers - not in an exclusive way so as to shun the rest of the guests, just enough to say that we like seeing people come back to our place. The live music was a nice addition - appropriate for the atmosphere and well placed in the bar area so that it did not interfere with conversation in the dining area. My wife and I were able to enjoy great conversation even though the place was filled with people. The food was as described and delicious with good presentation. I would like a little more variety."

  • "My 3 brothers and I enjoyed a very nice meal at Tuscany-Oakbrook. We'd never been here before, although I had eaten at the Tuscany on Taylor Street a number of times in the past. It was certainly good, but not great. I seem to recall larger portions at the one on Taylor. The service was knowledgable and friendly."

  • "Anyone who has been around the Chicago restaurant scene for a while might remember Stefani's on the North side. Both our waiter and the front end manager were original employees of that wonderful place that ultimately spawned the first Tuscany in Little Italy. They carry on the tradition here. Domingo our waiter, was wonderful with both his suggestions, and service. He was attentive but not intrusive. Dinner was not rushed, water and wine glasses were never empty. Each dish that was served at our table was outstanding. Everyone enjoyed their selection. The fish was fresh, the pasta was delightful, dessert was delicious. Our only disappointment was realizing that my son forgot to bring his leftovers home. The other plates were clean."

  • "I had called Tuscany to ask some questions about the band as to what kind of music as I was going to be coming the with a group of 8 for dinner. they were right on with the music but they suggested we sit in the lounge here's the problem, I decided to make reservations via open table which is great and requested the lounge which is what we got but I was never told hi top small round table were all they had in the lounge If I knew that I would have either not gone there or asked for a table close to the lounge but at a regular table because before they added more hi tops for us it would have been very hard to have meals."

  • "Tuscany Oakbrook is tucked away in the Towers across the street from the Mall. It's worth the search as the food reflects the best of Northern Italian Cuisine. Parking is rarely a problem especially for dinner as most of the offices are closed. There's also Valet available for a minimum charge. The wait staff is very courteous, helpful and attentive. The Menu varies with the seasons but pasta dishes are always a good choice as well as seafood and other dishes. The roasted garlic that accompanies your bread is awesome and you never leave hungry. The desserts are also a cut above if you still have room."

  • "great food and service and good time. The people that work there are so nice."

  • "I love the one on Taylor St. But this doesn't match up. Ambience, service and food preparation was all lacking in comparison. Still decent, but there are better options in the area..."

  • "They've changed the menu in recent years and there are very few selections that appeal. I turned a side salad into a meal as a result. It was OK, but just not what I was looking for at Tuscany. We have a group that has gone there quarterly or so for years and we've decided to pick a different place."

  • "But you have a reservation in name only. We were not seated for another forty minutes from our "reservation". Several other parties were there with the same reservation time and all were in the same boat. Waiter was excellent, food was great."

  • "Had the ravioli in brown butter sauce - it was to die for! Service could have been quicker - we waited quite some time to be greeted by our server, and another long time for drinks to arrive. But it was a busy Friday night, so it was kind of understandable. The food was definitely worth the wait!"

  • "setting great for lunch, but dinner not very romantic and looking a little dated."

  • "Ambience is great with a comfortable bar. Food is very good but the service was mediocre. It seems as though they were short a server. If not, they need to hire another one. It was a Saturday 6pm reservation and they were slammed but I would assume this is a usual occurrence at that time on a Saturday. If this was typical then they are short staffed. Unfortunately, the noise level in the restaurant area was more than energetic. At one point I leaned over to my husband (and I had to lean, even though he was adjacent to me) and told him we can never come back here for dinner as I could barely hear the three other people at the table."

  • "We took my daughter to Tuscany's in Oak Brook for the first time. She is in her twenties and she had always wanted to go but schedules just conflicted. Well, I have to say she was "WOWed". She loved the ambiance, the decor and the food. We had appetizers, salad, entrees and dessert and she loved it all. Our waiter was excellent also. Very attentive and helpful to all of us. Thanks for making this occasion as special one especially for her."

  • "Servers wer very attentive, making sure that we got refills without asking. They worked like a team. Environment was nice but food is not amazing. However, its healthy. Service is better. Our reservation was 7:30 pm and we wsre seated at 7:35 on a busy night. You should go there at least once if you have never tired it before. Also not too expensive for a fine dinning experience."

  • "We had a nice time at Tuscany! I had the lobster ravioli and it was very good. The prices were reasonable and the room we were in was not too noisy."

  • "We ordered a bistecca (steak) dinner and a chicken dinner. Both dinners were very tasty. The steak was ordered "Medium well - slight pink in color", and was served on the rare side. Twice. The third time it was cooked a bit past what I hoped for. We were given a tiramisu dessert (on the house). We're not generally fond of tiramisu in general, but Tuscany's version is quite good, and we enjoyed it. We had also ordered some decaf tea to go with dinner. We were not told that there were two varieties available, and we were initially given the chamomile lemongrass version. UGH! I hate chamomile tea. When asked if there was anything else in a decaf tea, we were given a ginger-based tea. Would that we had the choice initially!"

  • "We went to Tuscany for Valentines day and had a great experience. We were promptly seated and our waiter was very quick to our table. He explained the specials in detail and left for our drink orders. We started with a appetizer of antipasto and it was delicious. I had the.Caesar salad w/anchovies, fantastic the lettuce was fresh and crisp and the dressing perfect. My wife had the filet and lobster tail which arrived perfectly cooked. She said the filet was one of the best she has had. I had the crab stuffed gnocchi and they were succulent, cooked perfectly in a very flavorful cream sauce. Overall we enjoyed this restaurant and will return."

  • "Food was good, but not great. Service started off great, but faded to okay. Ambiance was good, but not great. Noise level was surprisingly low which made the time more enjoyable. It is not a place that jumps out and says remember me for food, service, or ambiance and as such is not a place I would hurry back to. We had a good time for our Valentine's dinner, but were held there for about 45 extra minutes for dessert and check (which both occurred the last 10 minutes of our stay). You will not have bad food here, all of it was good."

  • "The roasted garlic/parm/EVO paste is always my favorite thing here. I loved the fact that they didn't do a "special" (read: limited) Valentine's menu - everything was available including specials! Also love the round tables! It makes conversation so much easier."

  • "We just thought it would be a little more romantic of a setting. Very loud and noisy for an occasion like Valentine's Day. Also, very cram packed. Too many tables, where the next table is against your seat. Also, no scenery outside because it was was an interior restaurant. Little food for the price, with no salad or soup for the price you pay. The place was good because of the food, but that was it. Wasn't thrilled. Maybe their other locations are better to go to. Not on the top of my lists to go back."

  • "I've frequented the Wheeling Tuscany, so I had a very specific idea about what I'd experience at a Tuscany restaurant. The Oak Brook location did not disappoint. I took my wife for Valentine's specifically because I have wanted to enjoy the food I do when I have work lunches at the Wheeling store. The food was great, the service was first rate, and the location itself made me forget we were in the lobby of an office building. I'd return in a heartbeat."

  • "Four of us dined at 8pm 2/14/14. Our server consistently ignored our table and did not fulfill our order THREE times. I would understand if she was incredibly busy but she doted on her other three tables. I feel because we looked younger she thought we were not big tippers (which is incredibly inaccurate being as one of us is a restaurant manager and knows the industry). Overall the food was good."

  • "We set our reservations at least 2 weeks in advance but when we arrived the place was packed and they were seating a lot of other people ahead of us. I asked nicely when we would be seated and was told we would be next. After watching 3 other parties get seated ahead of us I finally got mad. I guess thats what it took for them to realize we wanted to eat. We did get a free desert for our troubles but it shouldn't have comes to that!"

  • "Being vegetarians, we were looking forward to a few items on their menu, but it appears their menu has changed since. They pared down the vegetarian entrees to 2 and appetizers to 1. And I was thinking of the Caprese as I was driving down there. Sadly that was gone from their menu too. But for Valentine's day menu, they had an excellent Fettucine Al Tartufo. It was amazing. My wife had their Ravioli Alla Pera. Pretty good. So both of us left the restaurant content with the food."

  • "Went to Tuscany to celebrate Valentine's Day at the request of the girlfriend and was treated to her favorite part right away...the oven roasted garlic and olive oil they supply to every table. Besides the after effect of smelling like garlic for a day or so after, this stuff is avsolutely amazing. The whole meal carried this trend throughout. I can't wait to visit again."

  • "We waited about 20 minutes, even with reservations, however it was worth the wait. the food was excellent! About halfway through the meal we all realized that while we enjoyed the live music, everyone seemed to talking that much louder and it was very noisy while dining. That would be my only negative. Otherwise I would recommend Tuscany, and would return again as I had a good time and loved the food."

  • "Waited 40 minutes for a 7:00 pm reservation. We made weeks ago. Hostess was obviously in over her head and couldn't care less that the lobby are bar were packed full of ticked off patrons. Finally got us to our table and didn't even make eye contact. After dinner, as we were leaving we were ignored by the same hostess. No thank you or good night? Business must be great to treat people this poorly. Too bad, as we liked this place in the past."

  • "On a cold snowy nite it was a comfort to arrive at the restaurant. The dining area was warm, the food was excellent and the waitress was exceptional. The three of us had a warm and comfortable dining experience on a bitter cold and snowy nite."

  • "There were 4 in our party and we were celebrating a birthday. We ordered the soup for a starter which was very good. The server was attentive and was able to recommend wine to go with our meals. For dinner we ordered from the specials menu. We got the beef medallions with sweet potatoes, and we also got the risotto with bay scallops. Both items were well prepared and delicious. For dessert we ordered the chocolate mousse cake which would be good for sharing as it is a large piece, and we also got the chocolate cake from the special menu, but I don't recall its name. These were also delicious and a nice finish to our meal. It is definitely not an inexpensive meal, but it is a great place to go to celebrate a special occasion."

  • "This is a busy restaurant with a vibrant noise level. There were a lot of groups dining. The wine list is extensive. The service was friendly, but our waiter was so busy, that he did not come back frequently enough to check on us. The octopus appetizer salad was great! The lobster ravioli with vodka sauce was just ok. Portions were generous, and I had leftovers for lunch the next day."
