  • "The flavors seem to be dialed down for a "Chicago" palate – I wish the spices were a little more robust in some of the dishes. The Turkish delight is a great option for vegetarians, a medley of delicious sautéed veggies on a plate of hummus. The hummus isn't the best in town, but they make their own pide bread and it's served warm. Very delicious, so order a few spreads to accompany it. If you like meat, try the lamb sausage. Desserts are forgettable. Just head to Paciugo up the street instead. Service is a little lackadaisical but it's nice to be able to sit outside now that the weather is nicer."

  • "This was our 2nd visit to Turquoise Cafe and we'll be back for a 3rd! The food is beautifully presented and delicious. Staff members are friendly and efficient without bothering you. The baklava (sp?) is the best!! "

  • "Half of our party of four had never been to Turquoise before. They were glad I had chosen it and expressed great satisfaction with the food and service. We arrived earlier than expected, but were seated immediately anyway. We found the creamy lentil soup truly wonderful. Each member enjoyed their entrees -- one had a rack of lamb, more to eat than he had expected, two had lamb kabob and both found it delicious with good sides, and I had beef kabob, which I also found delicious with good sides. One of us had an order of mashed potatoes which he found superior. Desserts of ice cream sherbet and rice pudding were great, the rice pudding is especially to be enjoyed. We had a wonderful dinner, good conversation."

  • "The evening my friends and I met there was a quiet weeknight. The service was great and the food was tasty. The restaurant was filled and in additional there was a large party of 25-30 celebrating a wedding."

  • "I can't believe this is the first time I've been to Turquoise! What a gem--delicious food and a great date night spot for me and my husband. Would definitely head back...."

  • "Went for brunch. Good Turkish food. Friendly staff. Slow service that day due to being short staff but would come back again."

  • "We really enjoyed our experience here. I accidentally just left the review meant for Turquoise for Sola. Sola was not great. So expensive and the food did not wow us. This place is amazing though. Loved the hot, homemade bread. The food was sooo good and the wait staff was very customer service oriented. We like to bring friends here who come to visit us in Chicago. Delicious!"

  • "From the minute we arrived the service was great. Our server was very helpful describing menu options. The dinner was a ten from the warm bread to the main course, and our server was also a ten. Thank you to the entire staff for a wonderful night of dining"

  • "I used your service for a reservation on Valentine's Day. However, your website did not address the Prix fixe pricing for the evening. The restaurant's website also did not mention this. I was very dissatisfied with the failure to that evening's terms to your customers. I ended up going slightly over budget and did not get to prepare. I'm on a fix income but wanted to treat my girlfriend to a lovely evening. The service was great and we did enjoy a fantastic meal but the night was close to ruined before it ever got started."

  • "This is a neighborhood middle eastern food spot. They try to give you an enjoyable dining experience and for the most part they succeed. Because they are reasonably priced and attract many neighborhood people dining on the weekends should be avoided unless you are very patient. Street parking is usually available and there are three front barrier doors which help to keep people who eat near the door as warm as possible. If you try it you will want to return."

  • "Modest prices on the menu do not reflect the quality and variety found throughout the menu. The Turkish specialties are particularly attractive, providing several appealing options to the typical Mediterranean offerings. All in all a pleasant surprise for the wallet and the palate."

  • "Food is great! We were there on a Saturday night, and it was crowded and noisy. I'd recommend going at a less crowded time when it isn't so noisy - if you want to have a really good conversation and not have to yell. But the food is great!"

  • "Turquoise is really a hidden gem-quality of the food value for the price paid. The delicious bread and a beet, carrot and yogurt dip, then the lentil soup and fried zucchini. Entree portions were substantial with an interesting mix of flavors. Food is a really a nice mix of Mediterranean dishes. The service is a bit hit or miss. When seating was delayed Mahmut bought us drinks. Service was attentive, but we waited over 30 minutes for the entrees to arrive after appetizers. The wine list is reasonably priced and goes well with the food. Despite the service issues, we would highly recommend Turquoise for a nice meal. Just allow a bit of time, much like you would many places in the Mediterranean!"

  • "Turquoise is located in a small space in Roscoe Village. From the outside, it seems pretty quite, but when you walk in, you will find a vibrant, warm, happening scene. Once seated, they bring out bread with a cabbage, vinegar, sour cream salad to place on the bread which is a beautiful pink color and is delicious. They have also low cost wine ($20) The menu is large and has many interesting choices. My wife had the seafood risotto and I had the lamb shank. The Risotto was very rich and very good. The lamb shank was also good, but not exactly what I was expecting. Overall, the food is very good and the atmosphere is terrifically fun. This is a place where you want to commit around 2 hours for dinner, it is worth it."

  • "Great good. Mussels, chicken Gorgonzola and flambé almond parfait rocks!!!! Relaxing atmosphere. Good selection of wine. List of the wine of the month - great deal! Relaxed, typical Mediterranean service with little lag in timing. Ask for seating in the middle of the dining hall - too close to kitchen is little to busy and to noisy; too close to the front doors - between October and March you can catch cold from a draft anytime patrons enters or leave the premises. Overall two thumbs up."

  • "Turquoise is a small restaurant on Roscoe that my wife, daughter and I dined at on a Sunday night after a play. All of our selections - chicken, lamb and scallops were perfectly prepared. The seasoning was subtle but distinctive. The restaurant was only moderately crowded on a cold December night. We were surprised with a free dessert of raspberry accented flan - absolutely yummy. It looked like their patio would be a fun place to be on a warmer day."

  • "Loved the food here – the closest to authentic Turkish cuisine I've found in Chicago, along with some other standard European dishes. Monday through Thursday they have a four-course $25 prix fixe as well, with huge portions, which is a great value. Several vegetarian options are available. I loved the Turkish delight, which is a bunch of sauteed veggies served over hummus with pine nuts and golden apricots."

  • "This is one of our favorites. Not only is the food always delicious, it is completly affordable. The wine selection is good and their prices encourage me to consume. Save room for dessert, the almond parfait is heaven."

  • "Maybe it was because it was a Friday night, but the service was really slow and took very long for each food item to arrive at our table. That being said, the food was delicious."

  • "We've been regulars at Turquoise for several years now. This time, we went to celebrate our anniversary. The food here is always terrific and the service is always pleasant, but not entirely efficient. We were seated in perhaps the worst table in the restaurant - at too-large a table for two and nearly blocking the servers entrance to the bar, so our table was bumped repeatedly. The weird table, the erratic service is all more than accommodated by the high quality of the food and the pleasant-ness of the staff. We'll keep coming back."

  • "The waitress/hostess hardly acknowledged me when I walked in. I came here with 7 people. The only reason why we came here is because my boss likes the food. If it was up to me - I would never come back here."

  • "This little gem of a restaurant has terrific food and moderate prices, especially if you stick to Turkish dishes, which we did. We tried lamb in three different preparations, as well as lovely appetizers. Meats and vegetables are perfectly seasoned and cooked, and the restaurant makes a variety of its own delicious breads. Service is attentive but not rushed, a real pleasure on a busy Friday night."

  • "We've lived in Roscoe Village for six years but truly discovered Turquoise 2 years ago. I cannot say enough amazing things about it! It feels like a neighborhood restaurant but is definitely a destination restaurant. It is always packed and the food and service certainly reflect why! Reservations on the weekends are a must. Outdoor tables are adorable!"

  • "Went to Open Table searching for a restaurant in Roscoe Village. Saw this one had open tables and good recommendations. This place lived up to its reviews. Food was excellent. Service started out slow but once they engaged it was the perfect balance of being attentive and giving us space. Will definitely go back when in the neighborhood again."

  • "Interesting food, well prepared. The veal Valencia was nice but not something I'd rush back for. The lepta was rich and the osso buck was delicious. The service while friendly was extremely slow. They seemed understaffed anth kitchen over taxed. A good but not great dining experience."
