We just visited Salem and had a wonderful time. Thanks to the reviews from Open table I picked Turner's seafood for dinner. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the service was excellent. I can't say enough about how friendly the staff was and helpful in picking out choices on the menu. I had a salmon special which was cooked perfectly and if you love chowder you should not pass it up when you visit. Its a gem not to be passed up.

My son and I were in the area to look at colleges and this restaurant was recommended by the hotel. The atmosphere was great and the service good. The food was tasty and enjoyable and not over priced for the quality. It was noisey but I feel this was part of the experience. This is an historic site and it felt good to share the dinner with the spirits of Nathaniel Hawtrone and the likes. We dined during the halloween season so Salem was in a festive mood.

I actually found this restaurant on Open Table and I'm glad I did. The food was wonderful and the prices reasonable. I had a New England Favorite Baked Scrod and it was delicious. Best I've tasted in a long while. My sister had the stuffed shrimp and she thoroughly enjoyed it. My Dad had the Lobster Bisque with lobster added and he reported it was delicious as well. Our waitress was attentive and very helpful. I have a food allergy and the staff made sure I'd be safe with my chosen selection. Overall a great experience in dining. I would definitely go back again.

We went to Turners this weekend for my mother-in-laws birthday and I would say it was an okay experience. When checking in the hostess had to record of the reservation I made with the Salem location via OpenTable App. They kept telling me it must be for the Melrose location but I pulled up the confirmation email and it had their location and phone number. They apologized and were quick to seat us after a 10 minute wait. The staff was mediocre to accompany over priced seafood. I think there are better seafood resturants in Salem and I don't know I would go back.

The menu at Turner's is perfect for a fish restaurant, and every piece of fish around our table was moist and perfectly cooked. Portions a bit large, and fries and onion strings nothing special, but A on the fish preparation.

This place was fantastic! The restaurant had a great ambiance, wonderful decor, schoolhouse glass lighting pendants, exposed brick walls, and serving fresh lobsters and oysters without it's customers breaking the bank. My wife and I who both cook were very impressed and can't wait to come back!

My husband raved about the scallops wrapped in bacon, which had crisp bacon and tender scallops. The caesar salad was also a stand-out, with fresh, sharp dressing on crisp Romaine. The service was prompt and attentive and the atmosphere is really special: exposed bricks, comfortable booths and tables, and pleasing nooks. Large, clean, mullioned windows give you a view on to the activity in Salem. Prices were reasonable: appetizers, dinner for two, dessert and drinks, including two martinis, for about a hundred dollars before tip. We will definitely return.

I took a chance and chose this restaurant for a special evening out with visiting friends- it was an excellent choice! Spectacular, fresh fish cooked to perfection, large portions and the prices were reasonable for the quality of the food. A wonderful dining experience! We will definitely be back & recommend! (My favorite of our dishes was the salmon w/figs - and try the asparagus as one of your sides- cooked to perfection- had a bit of a crunch but not at all fibrous). Loved it, will definitely be back.

This has become our go-to restaurant for seafood after outstanding experiences in both of Turner's two locations. The family owners are very visible and the service is excellent. Haddock piccata was delicious and perfectly cooked. Traditional fare is the way to go here. Branching out into creative Asian inspired flavors was a mistake. Their idea of shrimp scampi is disappointingly off the mark. Creativity is not their forte. But you can get a solid cesar salad, generous kids meals, fresh cuts of fish cooked well.

We enjoyed our meal at Turners very much. Comfortable table, noise level ok on Mon. Night. Service a bit inconsistent but friendly. Only real complaint is that vegetables, while delicious, weren't hot. Fish was, but not the sides. Plates should be heated, otherwise some food is almost room temp. We would return and recommend nevertheless. Nice not to have to drive to Melrose for good seafood.

My wife and I dined here last weekend. We had a reservation but weren't seated until 20-25 minutes after our reserved time. We spent the extra time in the bar area, which was lively. Once we were seated at our table, the service was slow and the waitress forgot to bring a glass of wine that was ordered after the appetizer came. The food was mediocre. I had the lobster pie. It was a small bowl of warm lobster meat with some butter on it. I certainly wouldn't call it lobster pie and it wasn't worth $30.99.

Our reservation was for 5:30 and although we were seated quickly we were informed 45 minutes into our meal that we would need to vacate by 7:15 as they had booked the 'area' for 40 people at 7:30. Bum's rush and nasty about it. Ours was a very special evening and to be seated there in the first place was mistake #1. Our server was delightful and caught in the middle of this mess. Embarassed etc. I was not so pleasant and I will NEVER darken their doors again. Overpriced and rushed out of there. For that money we should have been offered more than a token GC and an over to relocate.

Turner's was absolutely amazing. The seafood was incredibly fresh and the presentation was great. They had a great menu with lots of options. It is located in the heart of Salem close to all of the attractions. The restaurant itself is beautiful and everyone in our group loved their meals. We told our waitress that we were in a rush because we had reservations for a tour shortly after dinner. Even though they were incredibly busy, they brought our meals very quickly and were totally accommodating. Try the sesame encrusted tuna. It was fantastic.

Very good, as always. 2 minor complaints: the waitress did not ask us if we wanted bread, although there were bread and butter plates on the table, and we noticed other diners being brought bread as we were finishing our meal. We all (3 of us) had full meals, so I wondered about this. Also, while the desserts (strawberry shortcakes) were excellent, the coffee was mediocre and lukewarm. Small matters, but they make the difference between 4 and 5 stars.

My wife and I were excited to spend our five year anniversary at Turners... since our reception was there.... when it was the Lyceum. Turners is FAR from the Lyceum. In fact , my wife and I were about to walk away after we were seated.....waiting about 15 minutes for a glass of wine. The food is nothing special and the prices are HIGH. I got the salmon, and my wife got the Lobster pie. The Lobster pie was not hot...barely warm.....it did have a good amount of Lobster. My salmon was good..but the rice they gave me was white rice...the had " wild rice" on the menu The portions are very good.but not worth the price of the overall experience. With so many choices to choose from within a 5 mile radius......we will not be returning to Turners

Too bad the service was so bad because the food was excellent. We had reservations, but were still seated in the bar area. Much too loud to carry on a conversation, sitting in the restaurant part would be much better. The service was terrible. We had to wait for drinks. After seeing our drinks sit on the bar for ten minutes, the waitress came by to take our food order. I reminded her we needed our drinks, and only then did we get them. After giving our food order, the waitress returned 10 minutes later because she forgot what we ordered. So we had to wait for our dinner much too long. I would try this restaurant one more time, if the service improves will become a regular. Otherwise, I'll cross if off my list and not recommend it to others.
