Turner's was absolutely amazing. The seafood was incredibly fresh and the presentation was great. They had a great menu with lots of options. It is located in the heart of Salem close to all of the attractions. The restaurant itself is beautiful and everyone in our group loved their meals. We told our waitress that we were in a rush because we had reservations for a tour shortly after dinner. Even though they were incredibly busy, they brought our meals very quickly and were totally accommodating. Try the sesame encrusted tuna. It was fantastic.

on a quiet afternoon it was surprising the lack of coordination between staff and management on orders. Food was okay but lunch sized portion of shrimp was tiny and chowder was very thick.

Very good, as always. 2 minor complaints: the waitress did not ask us if we wanted bread, although there were bread and butter plates on the table, and we noticed other diners being brought bread as we were finishing our meal. We all (3 of us) had full meals, so I wondered about this. Also, while the desserts (strawberry shortcakes) were excellent, the coffee was mediocre and lukewarm. Small matters, but they make the difference between 4 and 5 stars.

My wife and I were excited to spend our five year anniversary at Turners... since our reception was there.... when it was the Lyceum. Turners is FAR from the Lyceum. In fact , my wife and I were about to walk away after we were seated.....waiting about 15 minutes for a glass of wine. The food is nothing special and the prices are HIGH. I got the salmon, and my wife got the Lobster pie. The Lobster pie was not hot...barely warm.....it did have a good amount of Lobster. My salmon was good..but the rice they gave me was white rice...the had " wild rice" on the menu The portions are very good.but not worth the price of the overall experience. With so many choices to choose from within a 5 mile radius......we will not be returning to Turners

Too bad the service was so bad because the food was excellent. We had reservations, but were still seated in the bar area. Much too loud to carry on a conversation, sitting in the restaurant part would be much better. The service was terrible. We had to wait for drinks. After seeing our drinks sit on the bar for ten minutes, the waitress came by to take our food order. I reminded her we needed our drinks, and only then did we get them. After giving our food order, the waitress returned 10 minutes later because she forgot what we ordered. So we had to wait for our dinner much too long. I would try this restaurant one more time, if the service improves will become a regular. Otherwise, I'll cross if off my list and not recommend it to others.

Turner's knows seafood-- from raw bar to fried to classic dishes, our group had it all-- and no one went home unhappy. This restaurant is in the historic Lycem Hall, creating a wonderful atmosphere to talk to friends over oysters and beer. More room than the Melrose shop, but same good food and service.

First visit and it turned out to be a fantastic choice. No sooner had we left and I began planning when we could go back! The food was delicious, service was superb, comfortable seating and great atmosphere with "character". Loved everything about Turner's. Plus, if you have a non-seafood eater in your group, there is plenty on the menu for them to choose from, too.

This is the first time we were disappointed at Turner's after years of dinning in Melrose and more recently in Salem. We chose to sit at the Oyster Bar, big mistake. The same person was shucking oysters and getting drinks. One of our meals was wrong. We had to ask for napkins and utensils after our meals were delivered and for the dirty half full beer glasses placed next to us to be removed. When we told one of the staff we thought everyone seemed frazzled and a bit off we were told they did not expect it to be so busy on Labor Day. Other customers were also heard complaining and we saw one couple walk out. To be fair, they did offer us free dessert which we declined.

Again we had a great meal and our waitress wad very friendly. This time we asked for outside seating but unfortunately they did not have a waitress for that area. No big deal to us. The manager came over shortly after we were seated inside and said I can seat you outside if you would like. We told him inside was fine. He came over again later too check on how our meals were and apologize again for not seating us outside. Again not a big deal to us, but they cared. That's why turners is s great restaurant.

This was my second visit to Turner's Seafood and it was simply not exceptional. The noise level was loud and at times it was difficult to converse. As for my food, each item was individually good but the entire dish did not come together as one. The service was fair but the waitress did not seem pleased to be working. We left after our main meal to get dessert elsewhere.

My fiancée & her family went to Turner's to celebrate her birthday. I had the salmon special and cleared the plate. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meals as well. Our waiter was helpful. After hearing from the kitchen that the risotto dish is not a large meal, he came back to ask those who ordered it if they wanted a salad. The six of us fit comfortably at the large round table. Also, from prior visits, the bar is welcoming & enjoyable.

The Portugese seafood stew is outstanding. Staff was most welcoming. It was our first time here with our grandchild and they treated her exceptionally well. We were placed at a booth in the back which was the perfect for us. She could move between the grandparents on the banquette and we could relax because we were not placed close to other diners.

We enjoyed Turner's but had a few slight disappointments. There is a parking lot across the street. The restaurant is clean and attractive. Service was friendly and prompt. The table configuration in the center (along the bar) would be great for a big group, but the tin roof in this area makes it very loud. There is another seating beyond that looks quieter. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We had the shrimp scampi (great sauce) and baked combo. The serving sizes were ok for us but would be small for most people. Baked combo was mostly fries. Shrimp in scampi were a bit small. I would rather see the very low price raised a few dollars for larger shrimp. Over all, very nice place. Very pleasant staff. Will go again.

This was our second and last visit to Turner's Seafood. Noisy beyond any hearing level, served warm white wine, no busboy service, hence no water refills. Dirty dishes left on table. Haddock special under cooked. Service slow to the point of being totally ignored. 30 minutes wait for a glass of red wine. Waiter makes crack about how annoying we were due to a gift certificate and two others credit cards to pay.

This weekend was our first trip to Turner's, but it won't be our last. We heard many good things about them, and they did not disappoint. Although it was noisy and busy with activity, the food and service made up for it. The appetizers were delicious - baked macaroni and tuna chili (a new experience for me and well worth it). We enjoyed chicken piccata with penne pasta and char-grilled salmon for our main entrees. No desserts this time; we were too full. Brianna was our server; she was a delight. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. We highly recommend Turner's for a good meal and a lovely evening out on the town!

We so enjoyed our dinner at Turner's Seafood. Our party of four had delicious food-two of us had appetizers as entrée and the other two had the dinner special (Skate). The food was well prepared. The service was well done and the price of both food and drink was not overpriced. We would return again in the near future.

I had requested a table for 4 at 8pm. We arrived at 7:30pm hoping to get seated early. The host offered a table outside which turned out to be perfect. It was much quieter and more private than the somewhat energetic and lively atmosphere inside, and it was perfect for us. The waiter recommended the Tuna Sashimi, which was amazing, as were the Fish and Chips! The Crab Cakes were a little bready, but otherwise fresh and flavorful. The cocktails were creative and tasty, and our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable. What more could we ask for? We look forward to returning.

Someone in the kitchen here really cares. The menu offers fairly standard items, but the execution is notably good. For example, it would be difficult to find a better lobster roll in the Boston area. The welcome was warm, and our server was outstanding. On this my most recent visit, once again we where wowed! This was a casual Sunday night dinner with a friend. We shared 4 appetizers all of them outstanding! The Tuna Sashimi was our absolute favorite! Each dish came with small salads as part of the dish, and each salad was different. The cole slaw that came with the crab cakes was the best, crunchy with a bit of sliced apple in it. All this was paired with ice cold Grey Goose Martinis. Service was great!
