Complete with its fresh fish market, turn of the century oyster bar, and open kitchen, our Melrose seafood restaurant marries the family mission: "to serve you the freshest, best tasting seafood you have ever eaten" with the promise to remain authentically New England.

Turner's operates on a requested seating list, so your name is on our list for tables estimated to open about the time of your request. Please check in with the host upon arrival and we do our best to seat you within 15 min. IF A TABLE DOES NOT SHOW AS AVAILABLE, PLEASE CALL US!

  • "love the restaurant week lunch menu. the tuna rolls and salmon burger were fantastic!"

  • "The best chowder in the Boston area by a mile. Great fish and chips and salmon. The wait staff is very aware and concerned about allergies - my wife is lactose intolerant and they voluntarily did not put a sauce on the fish as it had cheese in it."

  • "I ordered a simple sole cooked in butter and garlic, and it was breaded and overcooked. Sigh. I do better at home. I'd heard how great the food was. However, the Caesar salad, etc. were all good."

  • "Fresh New England Fish deliciously prepared. What else would a Bostonian want to eat? Outstanding menus selections. Relaxing atmosphere. Excellent service. Thank you Michelle for making our first dining experience at Turner' s a truely memorable one! We'll be back!"

  • "Returning here after a few years, we were disappointed with Turner’s. The food is good, but the place is noisy enough to make conversation difficult; the service, which was friendly and fairly responsive, was also distracted, e.g., drinks which were to be served with the entrées didn’t arrive until those dishes were halfway eaten. The killer for us, though, was that our reservation through OpenTable was, according to the hostess, “not technically a reservation,” and we weren’t seated for about 18 minutes after our “reservation.” This isn’t hard. Restaurants above and below Turners for quality of food and number of customers manage to do it every day. We don’t mind waiting a few minutes, but a reservation is a contract. We won’t be back."

  • "Best fried clams anywhere. Such a friendly place, our waitress was a phenom and the manager came to our table to meet and greet and make sure we were happy...which we were ! Delicious chowder, shrimp; can't wait to go back."

  • "I frequent Turners. This was the first time I got oysters. My only complaint is that they put the horseradish on top of the cup of cocktail sauce so it was impossible to get just the horseradish. I'm not a huge fan of cocktail sauce. We also had an order of mussels, the basil garlic broth was delicious but we were a little disappointed on how many mussels in the dish weren't open. Still a good meal."

  • "I love Turner's Seafood. They have such high quality fish and seafood and there are a lot of options on the menu. So there is sure to be something that will satisfy you. My favorite is their New England Clam Chowder and also Coconut Shrimp. The Clam chowder has so many clams and is really creamy and the coconut shrimp has a wonderful dipping sauce and is loaded with coconut. We were so full from appetizers and dinner that we didn't get dessert, but they have some nice options too, and you can get a pre fix meal for like $23 which is a steal."

  • "Turner's was very crowded and very noisy, therefore I felt like the staff did not have the time to be attentive Food was good, portions were moderate."

  • "The food is always fresh and so good! Great service and great atmosphere. We absolutely love Turner's!"

  • "Service was great! Food was good. Crab cakes were bad."

  • "It can be hard to find tasty, reasonably-priced seafood outside of Boston, and Turner's absolutely hits the mark. The selection of crab and cod cakes is delicious, and my advice is to stay away from the fried stuff and enjoy seafood as it was intended: grilled or seared. There is a lengthy lunch menu as well, so you can enjoy a culinary break during the day."

  • "My husband and I dine out every Saturday night. We chose to dine at Turner's Thursday evening as it was our 49th anniversary and thought we would try someplace new. As for the clam plate at $24, the appearance and quantity was poor. One of the local restaurants we dine at frequently can outdo Turner's clam plate by 100%. As to the lobster roll, I have had better at the 99 Restaurant and other local establishments. I do acknowledge that this restaurant is a very popular one in Melrose and draws a steady crowd. However, I would not recommend nor would I eat again at Turner's restaurant. I regret that we did not have the best experience celebrating our anniversary. I do not see anything unique about Turners's."

  • "I had some friends from Germany in town and they heard about the seafood of New England. If you are in North Shore, you can't beat Turner's Seafood - Melrose. While trying to translate the menu, in the end it didn't matter because everything we had was incredible. I strongly recommend it to those that want fresh raw bar, or simply a fantastic dining experience."

  • "Two of us had dinner - a salmon dish and a shrimp & calamari dish - both were excellent. Service was prompt. Traditional decor. A tad cramped and noisy, but nice vibe. Nice wine list but extremely small bar while waiting. Overall would recommend."

  • "It was our anniversary, but we did not want to go to anyplace formal - we wanted a casual setting, nearby, with terrific seafood. That is just what Turner's has to offer. The food was outstanding, the service attentive and informed, and all in all, we picked just the right place to get what we were looking for in celebrating our 45th."

  • "Made reservation had to wait extra 15 minutes to be seated. Very busy place. Oysters were well prepared and fresh. I had a stuffed haddock special which was disappointing."

  • "Turner Seafood has the freshest and best prepared seafood in the area. I would compare the quality of food with very pricey restaurants in Boston."

  • "While in the Boston region for business, I was referred to Turner's by my hotel. It was about a 20-min drive to Melrose, a charming town which I enjoyed walking after dinner. The waitress was outstanding in her service and recommendations for food (I'm a foodie). The ambiance was eclectic--a dining room, a bar and a tasteful seafood market. The lobster cocktail was fresh and generous, and the Chocolate Ganache Flan was outstanding. I was so glad I chose Turner's for dinner, and would recommend to ALL who like great food!"

  • "Love this place - the food, service but the only catch is the tables are a bit tiny - if we decide on a group of four then it can be a bit cramped"

  • "I've come this place for several times with my family. The servers are so friendly. I love clam chowder. Also raw oysters are so fresh!!"

  • "This place is a great find. Parking is tough with Main Street or the crowded lot behind, but it is a cute walk through the center of town. We were seated right away with a Friday night reservation. If you want a quiet area, request a booth. If you don't mind some excitement, then middle of the room dining is for you. The service was very good. The waitress knew the menu and had suggestions. Food was timed well without being rushed or too slow. Mussels were delicious appetizer! Prices were reasonable. I would visit again."

  • "It is apparently crab week (which I didn't know when making the reservation). Lots of great crab specials going on this week - we got the "crab salad" which turned out to be more of a crab salsa served with chips. The restaurant ended up taking it off our bill even though we ate it all because it really wasn't a salad per say - the description on the menu wasn't exactly accurate. It was unnecessary since we ate it but such a nice gesture on the restaurants part. The rest of the meal was great! I recommend the quinoa swordfish!"

  • "We were looking for fresh seafood a little dressed up but not at the usual chain. Turner's delivered very nicely with a wide variety of fresh seafood in very pleasant surroundings. It didn't soar to great gastronomical heights, but it never let us down. Everything was fresh and tasty. "

  • "Turner's is an incredible seafood restaurant. They serve fantastically fresh seafood, and pay attention to everything on the plate - the sides are just as good as the main item. Service is great, and we were seated upon arrival at our reservation time. The restaurant does get very loud though, but it's an open design with hard floors and tin ceilings, and it's almost always crowded, which is really a testament to how good the restaurant is. If I have one criticism, it is that the wait staff tend not to be able to describe the raw bar items (what the difference is between oyster varieties, etc.) without checking with the expert."

  • "Legals is excellent but Turner's is a notch above for seafood. One of the owners came around to each table during dinner."

  • "Delicious food and yummy, though not particularly inventive, cocktails. We tried the fried seafood platter, crab cakes, and lobster pie, and I'd recommend each one. Everything was well executed and tasty, right down to the french fries and onion rings. The fried scallops were perfectly done, which is always a good sign, and the crab cakes had very little filler. The lobster pie had massive hunks of lobster, bathing in a butter bath -- completely sinful, completely divine. Even though I live closer to the city, I would go back in a heartbeat."

  • "It was a very pleasant experience. I addition to great food the management and the wait staff are great, too. We started with chowder and bisque which were delicious, a Caesars salad (fresh and crisp) and lobster pie (which was loaded with delicious lobster meat) and a surf and turf w/baked stuffed shrimp. Oh, did I mention a great Cosmo, too. All were terrific and would go back again and again. "

  • "Reservations were for 6pm. The place was packed and everyone looked like they were really having a good time. We were seated in 5 min. Food and service excellent and will definitely return."

  • "I use to really love this place, but I find that the service was slow, the food was okay with some returns to the kitchen. The noise level is very loud. Seems like a locals place, but for a Saturday night it wasn't lines out the door like in the past. The food lacks an artistic flair that you would find at other restaurants. "

  • "I was in Boston on business and wanted to take my Woburn-based brother to dinner. This restaurant caught my eye: fresh seafood, highly-rated. I Was pleased to find that the clam chowder was gluten-free, as my brother requires a gluten-free diet, and had mentioned that chowder was an issue for him. We both enjoyed the chowder, and our entrees. For dinner, I had the haddock piccata. It was great. Side of garlic spinach was small and unimpressive. Next time, I'll have salad as my vegetable....and there will definitely be a next time. I look forward to my next trip to the area!"

  • "Turner's offers several gluten-free entrees for those who require it, and a polenta option for diabetic diets. In keeping with many other quality restaurants, it would be great to see more whole grain or brown rice options. While the crab cakes were more cake than crab, the tuna sashimi and the sesame-encrusted tuna were gorgeous, fresh and served beautifully. If you love fish, this is certainly a good restaurant choice. It is a busy place at dinner time and if you are looking for a quiet meal for two, this might not be the best choice as there is no effort to manage noise levels, but apart from that personal peeve, it was an overall very enjoyable dining experience. ...and there was no skimping on the cosmos! "

  • "My son had just completed his Army enlistment and had returned home after several years in Afghanistan and Fort Bliss Texas, neither location a hot spot for good fish. We wanted to have a family dinner to reintroduce him to the joys of New England Seafood, and I had enjoyed Turners several times previously having lunch and or dinner with my daughter. We were NOT disappointed. First and foremost, all the seafood was top notch and cooked perfectly as it should be. We also enjoyed what I think is a very cozy atmosphere. Had a terrific time and yes, my son also loved the Haddock he had. Thanks Turners!"

  • "There were 6 in our group and the restaurant was very crowded when we arrived but we were seated quickly. The food and service were excellent. We started with oysters, calamari, and Portuguese Fish Stew all very fresh and delicious. Our entrees were also great and everyone in the group was very happy with their meal. If you're looking for sensational seafood this spot is perfect but reservations are a must especially on the weekend."

  • "I was referred by a friend how great your restaurant was. She said the food was out of the world, the service and ambiance of the restaurant was just as good. I was very disappointed with my fried seafood plate. The grease that it was cooked in was old, it should have been changed the day before. And I was very surprised by the portion. Usually a seafood plate takes two people to eat, this was just the right size for one."
