Turn 12 Bar and Grill waved the green flag on October 1, 2013. The modern and sporty decor surround a spectacular 50 foot custom zinc bar top with tire tread inlay. Vintage motorcycles, historic racing artwork, and multiple televisions capture your attention upon entering. With a menu that serves a little of everything, from steaks and pasta, to pizza, burgers and salads Turn 12 is a casual American Bar and Grill with something for everyone.


The name Turn 12 is related to the famous Laguna Seca Raceway that has 11 turns and meant to invite guests to visit us at the corner of Tyler and Franklin as the last turn of the day.

  • "I am so glad Turn 12 opened and I was finally able to visit. I'd heard many great things and it didn't disappoint. Our waiter was extremely helpful and was able to offer recommendations on menu items given specific dietary needs. He checked in with us multiple times to make sure our food was cooked to order and that our drinks were always full."

  • "First time at Turn 12 and it was very good. The dining area was a little dark,but they turned the lights up when we asked. The service was fast and friendly and the food arrived quickly. The truffle oil french fries were tasty. Food was very good and everyone enjoyed it."

  • "SO upset with turn 12! We were so excited to try this place and we're let down. There were not enough servers so we had to wait over 15 minutes to even get drink orders. Our server was overwhelmed because the restaurant was so under-staffed that when he finally did come by to get our drink orders and food orders he was all sweaty and stressed out... Poor guy! We felt bad for him but we also felt upset that we could have chosen anywhere to go for valentines day and apparently chose the wrong place to go."

  • "I would return to "Turn 12" to see if the food is even better when they aren't overwhelmed with crazy fundraiser and entertainment supporter from CHS. We found the food and service to be quite good given that the restaurant was packed with people and the live music was loud. Perhaps it would be even better on a normal night? Whatever the case, the venue is perfect for gatherings of this nature as people were able to hang around and visit and enjoy all that "Turn 12" has to offer."

  • "Turn 12 is beautifully remodeled and huge. We had a small group meeting for lunch and the hostess graciously arranged the perfect table. The beet and goat cheese salad with chicken was perfect. Unfortunately, two of the others in my party had difficulty getting exactly what they ordered. The waitress was sweet, but perhaps needed more training. I would love to see Turn 12 do well, since it seems like it could be the perfect place for great food, casual atmosphere, and fun watering hole."

  • "We have been here several times for lunch, dinner or drinks. There is a good ambiance and the décor is comfortable. We had the lamb lollipops and pizza appetizer. The lamb was very flavorful. They are a real lamb chops. Basil and prosciutto pizza. It had great flavor and the crust was good. Caesar salad. It lacked the ZIP it thought it needed. Rigatoni with Italian sausage was great. It had wonderful flavors. Service in the dining room was just as friendly and efficient as the bar. The bar was packed with everyone enjoying the happy hour. Jason in the bar is a great bartender and host. I will be back and maybe this may be our local watering hole. The downtown and the restaurant is big enough to handle a crowd"

  • "Cocktail menu had weird drinks. However, they were kind enough to replace a drink that we couldn't swallow down. Food was good.LARGE salads, great fries. Turn 12 sandwich was good; although they need to serve it with a knife because it gets soggy. Pasta was very good!"

  • "Turn 12 is a welcome addition to the restaurant scene in downtown Monterey. The decor is cool and modern yet comfortable. By the time we were seated for our reservation (6pm), the bar area was quite full and the dining area was also beginning to fill up. It was a special occasion for us and the food and the staff were both excellent and really made for a great overall experience. We hope that they become a permanent fixture!"
