We have been to Tun Tavern many times. The food is always excellent! If you are looking for a good steak or burger, this is your place. I had the Filet Mignon and was cooked as I requested. Its a little noisy but not bad for an open space and lots of people. I will be back!

We ordered the hot wings and calamari appetizer both were over done and to crunchy--not good. My husband ordered the crab cakes which were also over done and dried out. I wanted the Tuna and they said they were all out. it was 5 on a Saturday how could they be out? So I ordered the shrimp and rice again it was over done and dry. I would not recommend this place at all!!!!

We were seated immediately, the sevice was great and the restaurant was spotLess. The burgers were among the best I ever had. Very creative. I recommend the beer sampler. There are too many good ones. This is definitely on our must do list when back in AC!

Restaurant was uncomfortably hot, muggy . Two of salads were wilted and slimy..totally inedible. Shrimp was fishy. One order came out completely wrong. One order was not put in with the rest and didn't come out until the rest of us were halfway done. Two meals were sent back and the waitress took them off our bill. The manager never came out although the waitress said she would send him/her over. On top of everything, it was soooooo overpriced for what we got. OH... and the beer was a backyard keg...flat beer. Totally unimpressed. We left and went to Wing craft.

There was no one in the place and we were asked to move to a booth because there was a large party that had a reservation. We had a reservation. We did not really want to move. There were two other open tables behind this one that we could have been offered. In the end, our table was then removed from the group about 15 minutes later and remained open the entire time we dined. The food was OK, typical bar food, but underseasoned. We ordered an appetizer, a burger and crabcakes. I ordered a beer that I returned because it was flat. The second beer was also flat but at least drinkable and did have a nice color and taste. With AC prices the bill was almost $60. No one from the staff was smiling, ever. Overall NOT worth the time and money.

This restaurant caters towards private parties, however they don't have a private room to accommodate this. Our reservation was at 10:00pm and there was a "private function" along with a DJ; the music from the DJ was so loud it was unbearable, making conversation virtually impossible. The upside was that the food was really good. If there are private functions they should just close the entire restaurant or better yet build a private room.

Had dinner reservations for 5:30 on a Saturday night before a show. Probably should have just had burgers. My husband and I both had dinner - he had Chicken Parm and I had Salmon - both were just ok. Also, the material on the table top (had a booth) was very sticky. One bright spot was the Raspberry Sangria which was excellent.

This restaurant had such great potential... Booked a reservation for 6 people for a pre bachelorette party dinner. Checks could not be split, restaurant was out of 3 different menu items we tried to order and we got no help accommodating a wheelchair. One dish we ordered was amazing and the rest was nothing special. Waitress was impatient and forgetful and left us alone for long periods of time making it difficult to get drink refills or anything else. The restaurant was not busy whatsoever for a Saturday night. Live music was a nice plus.

Made a reservation & only waited 10 mins to be seated. Food was delicious & service was great, especially for how busy they were due to the Beer Fest. The only "complaint" we had was in order to accommodate such a large crowd, the pulled 4 tops apart to make 2- two tops, which works if the tables are in the middle of the floor, but the table next to us was up against the wall & the waitress had to lean over us to take their order & serve us & when the other couple was ready to leave, we had to stand up & move away from the table to let them out. This probably isn't typical, just a result of the Beer Fest going on next door, but definitely not an ideal set up. Otherwise, everything was good and we would definitely go back

Waited over 25 minutes just to get noticed by waitress only after grabbing her after seeing all 3 tables that surrounded us get waited on and served before we were even spoke to. After finally getting waitress I ordered soup and got none then ordered a crab cake sandwich for additional take out after our meal and had to be fixed due to order was given that I wanted a carb cake dinner instead, which was incorrect. Food was good, waitress was pleasant and we reserved tables so wait time was at a minimum. Been a customer in past and extremely unhappy with service. A manager should have helped this waitress as she got busier.

Tun tavern did not honor my open table reservation because it was a convention day. The restaurant is located across the street from the AC convention center. At last years convention, our wait for a table and our food was well over 1 hour. This year, the same exact thing happened. Tables all around us were seated and served while we continued to sit and wait for our food. After 2 complaints to The management and the promise of a discount to our bill, the food arrived cold- as if it had been sitting in the window waiting to be take to us for quite some time. Lightening does strike twice. At next year's Convention, we will pack a sandwich and eat it on site.

Our experience with the food was great. My friend enjoyed her beer. Our server had no personality with us and was frankly rude but would leave our table and be joking around with our server friends. Took forever to get napkins and ketchup since ours wasn't on the table. We asked for desert for my friends birthday and it was like a chore.

I made a reservation for 6:30 and arrived about 10 minutes prior. The lady taking names told me there was a screw up and they were not supposed to accept any reservations. They sat us at the next available table though and we did not have to wait for the groups before us (about 4) to sit. The area I was sat in was not very spacious. The waiter kept bumping the back of my chair when trying to tend to the table set up behind me. Out of 4 plates ordered, we only had an issue with one meal. My fellow diner order the crab pasta. When it arrived, it was only pieces of crab in sauce. There was no pasta on the plate. We notified the waiter and when he returned he stated that they had no more pasta. In return they comp'd that diners drinks.

I won a gift certificate for the Tun was never there before. At first we thought the service was going to be brutal because there was a large crowed from the convention center. But we were surprise they have a very good system where your server takes your order But then when your food is ready another server brings your food hot. I can't blame the rest. There was a cheer leading competition At the convention center and they place was a mad house. With that said our food was delicious and hot. We are going to give it a try one more time in a few weeks.

My fiance and myself arrived a little early to TUN tavern on New Years eve. We informed the woman we were early and was this ok. She grabbed the menus and handed us over. We previously visited the website and booked the reservation for 7 based on the New Years dinner special. We asked Adam if we could order the specials, he asked the what we initially thought was the hostess if this was alright. Adam said the manager said "If you want to order the special for New Years you have to get up and move to tables on a lower level of the restaurant". We were already sitting enjoying wine and did not want to get up and move. I looked at my watch and it was ten of 7pm the time of our reservation. I thought how rude. We wont ever be back.

The title says it all. We went at 930 on a Friday nite. There was one other table and two people at the bar. For a "Do AC" spot, this was dead. Our food was standard bar fare. Our sandwiches were very good, as was the crab soup. A bit more energy in the restaurant, which is not the fault of the establishment, would have made this experience much more enjoyable.

There was nothing negative to write about the restaurant, much like there was nothing to really rave about as well. The one thing that stood out was the pace of the service. Super fast from the point of ordering to the time the food was on the table. Standard pub fare with some higher priced options. The entire dinner with drinks for four people, including tip came close to $200. The IPA beer was very good and the rest of the beer line up was average compared to other microbrews. We will be back to try the bar again in the summer time when there is outdoor seating.

Had an early dinner- 430PM- with few people in the restaurant. the kitchen could not get things right. Starters overcooked, burgers not cooked to to our liking (ordered medium rare, recvd well done), forgot toppings on the specialty burgers, etc. The blue-crab fries were delicious, though. Waitress was great, and it seems that she dealt with this kind of situation often, where the kitchen keeps dropping the ball.
