Went there for a bachelor party. Decent food and quality service although it was a step below what I has expected. Would be a good place to watch an afternoon ball game at the bar. If given the choice, I would certaiblt not hesitate to go back.

Hostess argued with me about the reservation and would not honor it until I became adamant. "don't you know we have a special event going on?" was her comment. I replied "that's why I made a reservation.". Claimed open table should not have let it through. Another lie because I made my reservation early before they realized it was "AC Beerfest.". Food was horrible. The burgers tasted frozen and reheated. I will never go there again.

We had dinner on Friday night and the steaks were excellent. I had the New York Strip and my wife had th Filet both were perfect. The mashed potatos on the other hand were dry and lacked flavor. Could not eat them (both my wife and I felt the same about the potatos) need some cream, butter and sesoning.

This place is as terrible as they say. Take the time to walk a few blocks away and eat a decent meal. Unprepared staff, slow slow service, and mediocre food. Hummus app was terrible, ditto the crab pasta. It took about 40 minutes for entrees to come out, and 20 for initial drinks to be served. Water was refilled only upon request. If you have to come, stick to the burgers and fries, the only worthwhile items on the menu.

Went for lunch during rest. wk. I had prix fixed which included fried calamari, a chx, spinach, pepper and cheese sandwich and delicious(but very cold) carrot cake. There were several choices on rest wk menu. DH had a burger. All were good except the calamari and FF were very oily. I know they're fried but could have been drained a little more. Except for this food & service were very good. Rest. was very crowded due to the fact it is near the convention center and they were having a show.

Do not bother. My friends told me not to go but I liked the Restaurant week menu so I went for lunch. I ordered the Greek salad. I thought it was weird to find a heap of green peppers on top. Looking through there were no greek olives. I asked the waiter who then asked the cook. Waiter comes over and says we are out of greek olives but will have them TOMMORROW!!! No offer to take back. Salad was subpar. Then dessert. I ordered a brownie. Waiter said would you like vanilla or chocolate. I said chocolate. Dessert comes with over with vanilla ice cream!!I say that I ordered chocolate. They say with a smile "we do not have chocolate today but will have it TOMMORROW!!!"

We decided to visit during restaurant week. We were never offered the special menu so we asked for it. The food was average. The tables were too close to each other. I felt like I was there with as well as the one next to me. I was able to participate in conversations with both groups. Would probably not go back there are too many other places nearby with a better atmosphere and food.

I have been to the Tun Tavern on a few occassions in the past. My wife and I do not live in the immediate area, but generally eat at the Tun tavern when we go to AC for a show, genarlly once or twice a year. In the past my experience has been quite good. However, on January 28, 2012, my experience was very poor. Service was very bad, and the food, for simply ordering sandwiches, was below adequate. Regarding the service, our waiter had several tables, and it seemed as though our table was simply an afterthought. To make matters worse, our table was a booth in line with the entrance doors to the bar. At about 7:45pm, for some reason, the bar doors were propped open, giving a steady flow of cold air directly to our table.

We waited about ten minutes for our server to come take our drink order. I used to work there in college and they were not as busy as I've seen them be. Our waiter was fine until a ten top sat and we felt ignored. Waited fifteen minutes after he dropped our check off. Overall, the food is great and the atmosphere can't be beat.

Do not go here if it is during a big event. They apparentaly do not know how to handle large crowds or their own reservation system, especially through Open Table. One of the crew bussing tables saw us waiting and bypassed the hostess and got our table for 10 ready while the hostess insisted they didn't take reservations or have any tables available. The Bus=person seated us and our waiter was very courteous and hustled. The kitchen is not prepared to handle large crowds as well. One child's hotdog was FROZEN still when we got it, the Tuna dish was not cooked, and the pasta dish still had water in it which made the sauce thin and runny. For a restaurant that is directly across from the AC Convention Center, I grade it poorly.

The Tun Tavern is a brewery bar-restaurant. We were there on a Saturday night and they had live music that made conversation impossible. The place would be much better without it. The typical bar fare was only fair. The half rack of ribs had 5 ribs, which is less than half a rack and the 2 of us that had them found them to be extremely tough. The Caesar salad was good. The burgers were average. Service was slow, but it was the end of the season.

The steaks were a tad pricey, but they delivered. Very big and very tasty. Apps and deserts were fantastic too. The beverages were another story. I don't know if something was wrong with their kegs, but it seemed like every beer on tap had zero carbonation, regardless of whether it was one of their own brews or a Budweiser. We all eventually switched to bottles. Otherwise, the service was good. Deserts took forever (definitely longer than the apps, and about the same time-frame for the entrees). The waiter, who was extremely friendly, explained that a large group had just entered and all their salads were prepped by the same people who do the deserts. But seriously, how hard is it to cut a piece of cake? I'd still recommend it, though.

Just a horrible experience. Called in advance due to dietary needs of friends we were with. Ordered a pasta dish. After some time waiter came back to say they were out of pasta and it would take an hour to make more. I asked if they would hire me and I could make the pasta in 10 minutes. Person ordered something different. One persons sandwich came out and the other 3 meals came out 15 minutes later. Manager had no interest in customer satisfaction. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!

Tun Tavern brews some really great beer. I would highly recommend a visit to the bar for one of their flights (tastings) and a pizza. Dinner was hit or miss. My filet was cooked perfectly and was tasty but was hardly a great cut of beef. Seafood salad was OK, Pork Chops were very good, gigantic turkey sandwich was a big hit, and the scallops were cooked perfectly but a very small portion. Across the street from "The Walk", I would plan a day of shopping, then to Tun Tavern for bar food. Parking is free at Baltic & Michigan, a bonus.
