I grew up in the area and was looking for a place where I could meet family with 2 small kids. This place could take a reservation for 9 and it was pretty quiet on a Sunday afternoon. The beer was good and there were no complaints about the food from anyone. I got the fish and chips, which were very good.

The food was good, portions were just right - but the service was only okay. The host was on the phone for more than 5 minutes before we were addressed and they couldn't find my Open Table reservation in their system. Fortunately no one was in there so we were seated. We told our server we were waiting on one more person and that we would wait for their arival to order. she came back 3 times asking if we wanted to order and we finally said yes because we felt like we were being forced.

Tried each of the beers they brewed. All very good. All shared the grouper, shrimp scampi, tuna and scallops. All were very good. Also had lounge singer playing top rock hits which was awesome. Plan to go again.

I dined at the Tun on July 22 with a friend. He ordered the Salmon Oscar. The presentation was poor, but it was tasty. I ordered the scallops. They tasted like frozen scallops from a TV dinner. I will never order them again if I go back there. My $11 Cosmo barely had any vodka in it. I was very disappointed with it.

I hate writing reviews but I almost feel obligated Because it was such a wonderful experience. Service was the best I had all week in AC and the meal was phenomenal. Ask for Shaun or Steve and you won't be disappointed. Chicken Marsala was best I've had in about three years and the beers and dessert were a fine end to our evening before partying. Will be back with friends in tow. Thanks CB

It seems the dishes at this spot are hit or miss. As an app, we had the wings which were just okay. For entrees, I had the mushroom ravioli which was tasty; however, the crab pasta was far from it. It was bland and their only suggested fix for it was to add parmesan cheese. The restaurant does have it own brewery and a nice spread of beer. The sampler was great. We arrived close to closing for the restaurant so the service seemed rushed although the waitress was nice. We were told we could not send back the pasta because we were told "the kitchen was closing"; huge disappointment. Regardless of timing, a customer should be serviced as normal. Although a quick visit, there were more cons than pros. I do not recommend this restaurant.

Great for beer lovers as they offer lots of options. I recommend the "beer sampler" which offers you 3 oz pours of 5 different varieties of the most popular beers offered at Tun Tavern. Good for bar food. Our party of 4 had wings, spinach & artichoke dip (super creamy), burgers and the 30 oz Porterhouse. They have their own parking lot across from restaurant, they do validate and it's a good option for people who are shopping at The Walk (outlet shopping) The down side: we went on a SLOW night (less than 8 tables were occupied in entire restaurant) and the service was still inattentive and the waitress hard to find

There is no reason to visit unless you are staying at the Sheraton & are looking for a decent beer. For the plus side, the brew selection of their own craft beers is excellent. Now for the "rub." The food was so-so, Sandwiches were ok, but the Spinach & Artichoke Dip was literally a sour cream cocktail. It would've been better to drink it than try to use a knife or fork.Despite the place being empty, the waiter was the worst. We asked to have our dinner order until after the appetizer, our entrees were delivered literally 3 minutes after the app. He seemed to disappear when we needed him & instead of checking on his customers he spent literally 15 minutes talking to 1 table. It cost the restaurant probably 2 drinks from my table.

Not very impressed especially after reading reviews. We expected a better menu and service. The lunch menu was very limited to basically bar food. Our service was lacking. When greeted by the host and when we asked how he was doing, he said he really wish he wasn't there. Our food runner was the only friendly member of the staff we encountered. It is a brewery yet our server never mentioned their beer once. Would not go back.

Hardly any crab in the crab salad. Pushed the salad around to try and find some. Told waitress and she immediately brough out a small plate of extra crab. Pasta dish with crab and cream sauce was watery and unflavorful. Pasta was overcooked. What saved the dish was the cheese or else dish would have been completely bland. Would not recommend to friends. The restaurant itself was nicely decorated and a fun spot for just drinks.

We have been to the Tun Tavern several times and have enjoyed our experience there each time. This time, however, was different. We made reservations for Restaurant Week. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were told that the manager had decided not to participate in Restaurant Week at the last minute. That was disappointing, and while I can appreciate that the restaurant was quite busy due to the car show next door, it is poor business practice to advertise for something that you can't do. In addition, the service was poor due to the many people in the restaurant. Our waitress was curt and rushed us out of the restaurant. Being busy is a great thing for a restaurant, but it is not a good reason to sacrifice customer service.

When we were here some years ago for a different convention we found the food to be very good. This time it was awful. Many times when we are out to eat we order two entrees and split them in half and switch with each other. It gives us to try to different things at one time. I ordered a Chicken Chessesteak and my husband ordered their version of French Dip Roast Beef Sandwich. The roast beef looked like it been sitting for hours in it's Au Jus and had no flavor, just boiled beef. My Chessesteak was on a huge roll that made it look like you were getting a lot but once you cut the extra bread away you had a moderate sandwich that was fair. I would compare it to a typical Truck Stop Restaurant. My advice go find somewhere else to ea

Went on Valentine's night, a weeknight, with my wife. Easy to get to. Free parking directly across the street. Casual dress. Not crowded. Had a couple drinks at the bar before dinner. Tried 3 different Tun beers. Enjoyed them all. The calamari appetizer was awesome. I got Wasabi Tuna. It was good though not mouth watering. My wife got Jumbo Lump Crab Pasta. That was very good. Lot of crab meat. The warm apple cobbler w/ vanilla ice cream for dessert was very good. The steaks on the menu looked mouth watering though pricy. I will probably try one the next time. Was so full I didn't buy a growler of beer to take home but kind of wish I did. Overall we enjoyed our evening at the Tun.

i have been at Tun's tavern several times. This time there was a huge event at the convention and the football playoff's. They were out of 2 popular appetize's that a tavern should always have, onion rings and chicken wings . They are the best,I have to say they gave us a 15% discount to compsate us. All in all ,I would go back . I hope they learn how to stock up by checking what event's are going on .

We have dined at Tun Tavern every year for the past 6 years. The food was always excellent. This year however they must have changed chefs or something. Three of us had the chicken & shrimp marsala. The chicken in this dish had a rubbery consistency tasted like prepared in advance chicken teriyaki from costco. Not what we have experienced in th past. On a positive note the crab bisque was excellent and the crab cakes were not bad. The service was excellent.

as we found the food quite tasty, parking was a breeze, i found it overpriced and they overcharged one of our couples credit card. When calling about it the customer service person said they never did. But calling the bank proved to be the most expedient way of resolving the issue. The bank pursued and took care of. Sorry, but will never go back there again. You only have one time to make a good impression n they just lost 4 couples from ever going back there for a mistake.

We had an early dinner here for my sister's bachelorette party. The food was okay: great selection, but not particularly outstanding taste-wise. The seafood dishes came with a side of rice and grilled vegetables, which was a refreshing alternative to fries. Altnough it was a brewery, we were able to still get a variety of drinks at the bar, but they weren't very strong. Nonetheless, it was a great time for a lively, AFFORDABLE dinner in AC.

The food was pretty good but our server disappeared for long amounts of time. We had to cancel our dessert order because after 25 minutes of waiting for our sweets to show up, we were running out of time for our evening plans. Then, a waitress dropped a tray of cocktails on us and we never even got so much as an apology. Everything was fine until the last 40 minutes of our meal.

The food was pretty good. The portion of the meals could have been a little bigger. I also had gotten the beer sampler and 2 of the 5 beers were not available, which was a little dissapointing. I had made a reservation and asked for them to provide a dessert (which I obviously would have to pay for) and to sing Happy birthday. I did have to remind them of that. Overall it was good. It was not crowded considering it was a Sunday night, but it was romantic and the waitress was absolutely devine. I will definetly be visitng again.

Would not recommend. Beer was warm, burgers were 1/2 size of buns and no taste, still trying to find bacon on bacon burger, chicken sandwich the same, small size chicken and bun was gigantic. Was charged $4.99 for 5 spears of asparagus (substitute for fries). Server was very inattentive. Had to ask for appetizers plates, had to ask for salt and pepper, had to ask for napkins. Atmosphere was good but overall very bad experience and will never go back or recommend.

We had a very large group coming in for a birthday and had to put a credit card down to hold our table. When we arrived the restaurant was nearly empty and it remained so. This made the deposit seem unnecessary and off-putting. The food was boring and the whole place felt too much like a chain. And all of this was colored by the 45+ minute process of waiting for through signing our checks - all after we'd completed our meal. Not someone I'd return to.

2nd time at the tavern and food experience was about the same as the first. The burgers and sandwiches were average. Their house IPA beer was excellent and wings were good. The Tavern wouldn't be my first choice for a burger but certainly not my last. Service was good though the waitress was quite dry and indifferent. Bottom line: Price is right for what you get. I would return given the other choices in the area not located in the casinos.

Although I was concerned since I heard some negatives relative to boring food and bad service, everything was wonderful. There were eight of us, our server was attentive and quick and he was fun as well. The food was good (not unbelievably so, but good) and great choices for the variety we brought to the table... meat eaters, vegans and pescatarians alike. Desserts were yummy and beer selection added another level of fun. The only downside was the music. We sat right next to the solo guitarist who was good but way way way too loud and screamy at times. Overall, a good fun experience. AND, it was far cheaper than most other places down the shore.
