TulsiJust wonderful! What a wonderful experience at Tulsi! Amazing delicious food, simple but real Indian flavors, not Americanized or modernized. Spotless service. There are very few restaurants now days where you can feel the true hospitality extended and this is one of them. Our service staff was genuine and very helpful with menu selections. Well priced for midtown neighborhood gem. We will be back.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstandingThis was one of the best, if not the best, Indian meals we have ever had. The lamb chops were, as other reviewers have mentioned, terrific, with perfect accompaniments. The spinach and corn kofta were wel-seasoned and delicious. Even the plain naan was great! Service was attentive and pleasant, and the seating was very comfortable. We had a wonderful lunch, and will return!5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMHaving just come back fromHaving just come back from India, where are last meal in Mumbai was at a 2-Michelin star restaurant, we wanted something more upscale than the "typical" Indian restaurant: We found it in Tulsi! Everything was fantastic. The Tandori lamb appetizer was wonderful. I've never had chutneys as fresh and excellent, nor have I had pickles any better. The okra was amazing as were the curries. Chef Hemant Mathur definitely deserves his Michelin star (and another). We loved everything about Tulsi and can't wait to eat there again when we are back in NY next month.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMAbsolutely delicious and elegantlyAbsolutely delicious and elegantly presented. Service attentive and professional. Tulsi proves time and again a special place to bring family, friends and business associates. go. You'll be delighted!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything except dessertI would highly recommend Tulsi. Food was delicious, service was great. But, dessert was a disappointment. The chocolate samosas did not cut it, and the nut base on the mango cheesecake just did not work. The pistachio kulfi was decent but nothing out of the ordinary. Overall though, I loved the place and would definitely go back.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful food served by accommodatWonderful food served by accommodating waitstaff. Their service is top notch, which the first sign of their excellence. Their food follows suit and is not the rich tomato sauce laden offerings of their competitors.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMOur table of 3 all tried theOur table of 3 all tried the tasting (meat) menu with wine pairing. The entire table loved the food. The food was creative and yummy. I didn't care for the red wines but I normally don't like red as much as white and am not a wine drinker to begin with. The waiter was accomodating and offered me white instead of the red after I tasted it and didn't like it. Loved the overall decor. I would definitely come back.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMTulsi is simply the best IndianTulsi is simply the best Indian restaurant in town. Service was prompt and friendly. The mixologist was terrific. The wine list was a bit pricey for the bottles offered, but the array was varied and decent. Overall a very nice evening at a restaurant to which we will definitely return!3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst-Rate Indian in MidtownTulsi is a real find, every bit as good as Junoon or Tamarind. The food is inventive, portions are generous, the staff is attentive, and the room is elegant. What more could a diner ask? A real addition to the neighborhood, too!3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat evening! Food and serviceGreat evening! Food and service perfect...Hemant and team are doing something right, great synergie!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Best Modern Indian CusineAn amazing Indian dinner with by far the most attentive wait staff and management that I've experienced.
The chef has put an interesting touch to modern Indian cuisine. Amazing flavors. Appropriate levels of spice. Presentation of the meal surpasses that of many Indian and other resteraunts that I've been to.
On top of the food, the staff helped create an amazing experience. Any time we rose from the table and returned someone was there to help with the chair and place a new napkin on our lap. The management, chef and owner all visited with us in a polite way as well. We felt like we were visiting celebrities.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food with such attentiveGreat food with such attentive service. I have sent friends and they have all loved it.
