If its your first time, get the Ottoman.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMTulip is a delightful gemTulip is a delightful gem in Milwaukee. It is tastefully decorated in Middle Eastern materials. The details are carefully attended to with fresh flowers and candles on each table. The food is earthy. Not your usual shish kebab restaurant. I had the lamb shank wrapped in thin slices of eggplant with a delicate tomato sauce over it. The serving sizes are just right.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMPortions of food seemed aPortions of food seemed a bit small, especially since most entres included no vegetables. A side dish of vegetables needed to be ordered separately for what I'd consider a complete, rounded meal. I like the atmosphere and fireplace. I'd like to go back when they have musicians performing.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMSuch a beautiful building!Such a beautiful building! The decor was very tasteful and romanic. I loved it I loved the cherry sauce, warped grape leaves the Greek olives. The Great salad. Eggs tasted smokie and the bacon was over done should have had sausage links instead of turkey sausage those were the only bad thing. The Guitar & Violin serenaded through our Brunch that was lovely.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMWent to Tulip on a WednesdayWent to Tulip on a Wednesday evening and found it to be a quiet, peaceful place to dine. The service was excellent and the food delicious. I had the lamb shank wrapped in eggplant and it was tender and flavorful. Wonderful specialty cocktails, too.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was wonderful!Everything was wonderful! One of my husband's favorite! (Mine as well!)3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMIf you like MediterraneanIf you like Mediterranean food this is the place for you. Their lamb & chicken kabobs with bulgur pilaf are excellent. For dessert the kunefe is a must have. After or first visit my husband & I found out that to split one is not enough you should each get your own. A couple next to us confirmed on the second visit when they saw we ordered two. They said we did it right because they split theirs & it left them wanting more.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a great dining experienceWe had a great dining experience and our table was ready for us as expected thanks to OpenTable!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food and good entertainment.Good food and good entertainment. Will be back next time we are in Milwaukee.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMDon't be afraid to try Turkish foodThis restraunt has great ambiance, sleek and modern with a touch of old world Turkey in the lamps over the bar. Leather couches flank a working gas fireplace. I had a salad which was crisp and appealing and the chicken stuffed with apricot and pistachios (not as flavorful as I had hoped)and bulgar pilaf which was very good. I would go back again and try other menu items.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellentThe staff was very friendly, and the food was outstanding. We'll be visiting again.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food and AmbianceWent for dinner with my wife and in laws. The four of us ordered lamb chops, peacan appricot chicken, and two different types of skewers with . All of the food wthe special of fried artichoke as an appetizer. All of it was cooked to perfection and tasted great. The service was wonderful as well and the ambiance was very elegant as they had an older couple that played live music on the violin and guitar. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys mediterranean food.2/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThe specials are always veryThe specials are always very good and the staff's recommendations on native Turkish dishes are very helpful.2/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWill return to TulipWe went to try Tulip again after not going there for awhile Our server was very nice but didn't know about the wine list.; brought the wrong wine but quickly corrected her mistake. She didn't tell us about entree specials; we probably wouldn't have ordered them anyhow, but she still should have told us. We asked about the special appetizer (pan fried artichokes) are were glad we did. They were very tasty and well seasoned. Hubby had lamb kebob and I had spicy meatball kebob. The lamb was very mild and the spiciness of meatballs tingled the tongue without burning. The bulgur side was good too. We both enjoyed our entrees. We tried an unusual dessert (can't remember the name) of shredded wheat with sweet cheese. It was great; not too sweet.2/16/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our 2nd visit toThis was our 2nd visit to Tulip and both times we had a great experience. The food is awesome! We had cocktails from a large menu which were excellent, but perhaps a tad on the small side. We ordered the combo appetizer plate and wanted to lick the little bowls that contained the various spreads - each one was amazing and delicious. Must try the Sak Suka, which is similar to ratatouille but with wonderful Turkish spices. We shared the Ottoman Grilled platter - 5 kinds of meat, all expertly prepared and delicious. Often chicken kebabs are dry, but these were juicy and fabulous. The side dishes of bulgur pilaf, rice and sauteed spinach were wonderful, too. There are good wines by the glass with a healthy pour. Highly recommend Tulip!2/16/2013 12:00:00 AMconsistently great.Consistently great. The food is very good, wait staff is attentive and I love the decor.12/31/2012 12:00:00 AMGreat surprise findThis was a very pleasant surprise. We were looking for items that would be good for both vegetarians and meat eaters and we found it. The artichoke heart appetizer was to die for. The vegetarian eggplant dish was one of the best I've tasted. And the chicken with pistachio and appricot was excellent also. We'd definately come back to try more of their dishes.12/27/2012 12:00:00 AMThe food and service was outstandinThe food and service was outstanding. There was a privat Holiday party going on in one side of the restaurant was a bit loud at times, but not bad. All the courses were brought out at our pace and we didn't feel rushed or wondering if our food would ever come.
Great way to try traditional Turkish food and drinks right here in Milwaukee.12/12/2012 12:00:00 AMFood was very good. ServiceFood was very good. Service outstanding. Great decor. Tables for 2 are small and along the walls, it would be nice if they were scattered in several areas in restaurant12/8/2012 12:00:00 AMAlways a hitWe have dined at Tulip 5 times now and have never been disaapointed. The service is prompt, attentive and very professional. The food is always reliable and delicious. I have tried something different each time I have dined there and have never been disapppointed with the flavors and creativity.11/27/2012 12:00:00 AMFood and service were wonderful.Food and service were wonderful. Live music really added to the evening. Only downside was that the openness makes it loud and there was cold air blowing on us the whole time so we had to keep scarves around our necks.11/17/2012 12:00:00 AM
