  • "Tulio's never fails to delight. The scale of the restaurant is intimate, the tables and spacing are tight, and yet it feels like a sumptuous escape from the City. The food is invariably well-prepared, the waiters knowledgeable and attentive and the pacing is exactly as leisurely as the diners desire. I'm becoming a regular and that says a lot in a city like Seattle with a constantly-evolving and interesting variety of restaurants to offer."

  • "We're both born and raised in Seattle, but had never been to Tulio. Oh my gosh, we've been missing out. We noted that it was our tenth anniversary when booking with Open Table. We started off with a table for two, but then invited our best friends to come along. We changed to a table for four. When we arrived, they had already set up a horseshoe booth for four with two roses on the table. They served us complimentary Prosecco (because we were also staying at the Vintage Park Hotel next door). Our waiter, Antonio was totally familiar with the menu. Made amazing recommendations. The entire dinner was an experience. All four of us were saying, OMG over and over. Amazing! Four new fans for life!"

  • "We had a wonderful evening, and our waiter, Antonio, was fantastic. The food was excellent! We sincerely appreciated the multiple gluten-free options (which we had learned about beforehand on Tulio's web site, and which is why we chose Tulio's), and Antonio's kind sensitivity to our older daughter's special dietary needs. We were most pleasantly surprised and grateful for the delicious Birthday Dessert for my husband, and Antonio made sure that was gluten-free as well. We had a lovely Family Birthday Celebration! Please give Antonio our warmest regards! Most unfortunately, our daughter did fall ill after our meal, with serious intestinal symptoms."

  • "This is a perfect place to meet up for conversation - romantic and otherwise - and to experience excellent food. We selected it because we wanted to be able to enjoy our guests more than "the scene". Every dish was amazing; something special to enjoy with each entree - scallops, chicken, lamb, salads - even the antipasto platter had some tasty surprises. My only suggestion is that the hostess and wait staff might sharpen up a bit, talk less to each other. Guests should be offered a beverage option as soon as they sit."

  • "The service was perfect, the wine was lovely, the food terrific. We shared the sweet potato gnocchi which was fantastic. The bread before the meal was fresh and the olive oil for dipping was of top quality. I had the lamb sirloin on couscous. I love rack of lamb but have never had another lamb cut I enjoyed. Think rack of lamb without all the fiddling with the bones. Not sure what they did to the couscous but it was delicious and I am not usually a huge fan. My daughter ate a pasta dish (think it was with salmon) and she was very impressed. Sadly, we had no room for the wonderful looking dessert menu."

  • "We had been to Tulio's many years ago and it was wonderful. A friend was staying downtown for business, so we took her to Tulio's and, again, it did not disappoint. Two of us ordered the bass, which was so good. And, my husband ordered the clams and linguini and said they had just the right amount of garlic flavor, etc. Thank you for placing us in a booth by a window as well."

However, Erica made sure we did and while it was being set, bought us a glass of wine in the bar. She was exceptional in how she treated us.   • "This was a very nice italian restaurant with a lovely old world atmosphere. I sat in a booth in the back and enjoyed a quiet comfortable setting. The waiters were very attentive and the food was good. There is a fantastic pistacchio icecream dessert that I highly recommend. I would encourage the restaurant to label the menu items that are glten free , but they were able to identify and adjust an entree for me to meet this dietary requirement. I could see a number of other menu items that sounded very good, although I did not try these. The wine was excellent and so was the expresso. I will definately return to this lovely restaurant the next time I'm in town visiting my relatives. The restaurant is centrally located in downtown Seattle."

  • "We went on Saturday the day after Valentine's and were surprised to see a limited special menu that unfortunately was already out of the duck breast and the veal... so we settled for ahi and salmon ravioli. Not our first choices, nor our second choices. The ahi was delicious though. On the other hand, the salmon ravioli also included smoked salmon and was too salty."

  • "I had not been to Tulio for almost a year, even though I work nearby. We took a table in the nicely decorated main dining room at 1:30 for lunch, and it was an excellent idea as we were looking for a quiet table and the room was almost cleared out by 2 PM. I mention this because it can get loud during the noon hour as the tables are fairly close together. But the food, Ah! We had a misti plate for starters which is a house specialty and was simple and tasty as misti should be. Then a plate of beautifully prepared, lightly cooked tuna on a bed greens. Pinot gri from Oregon at $7 a glass. Very, very nice! Highly recommended for lunch, especially outside the busy noon hour."

  • "My husband and I ate at Tulio's, when I was in Seattle for a downtown writers' conference. We had heard about Tulio's from our son and his wife. We asked to sit at a counter near the kitchen in order to see and converse with the chef and staff -- although the white tableclothed set tables looked lovely (next time!). We enjoyed watching the amazing techniques in the kitchen and watching the wait staff communicate special requests from customers. The food was delicious, the decor richly traditional and the ambience was comfortable-special-night-out. Everyone was so nice to us - we will go back whenever we are in Seattle."

  • "Tulio was once a pretty proud little restaurant. Rustic Italian food in a nice space. Walter Pisano's flair is nowhere to be seen any longer. The food is still decent. The service was..... well, it's the first time I've ever felt "neglected" in years at a restaurant of this quality. We never did get any bread, despite watching diners who came in well after us getting seconds, even thirds. My main issue with Tulio? Good God, it's time to shake up the damned menu. The same items have been on this menu for nearly 15 years!! What's worse is the dishes taste tired, like they were made by someone working on auto-pilot. Still a decent restaurant, but this place needs a major shake-up. Think Serafina and you immediately understand the difference."

  • "My husband and I chose Tulio to celebrate our 42nd wedding anniversary. We were seated at a booth where two beautiful long stemmed roses were waiting for us. That was such a lovely surprise. Our evening got better because James was our server. He took care of us in a way that surpasses many experiences we have had in other fine-dining restaurants. Then, it got better. Our cocktail and food selections were outstanding. We can only describe the evening as a "10" and definitely memorable. We will return, and will ask to be seated in James' section."

Our server was fantastic and not only knew the menu and wines, but made numerous recommendations in a way that made the night and meal incredibly enjoyable and memorable.   • "I was hoping for a nice, quiet dinner but found the place packed and loud. Two items on the menu that I wanted, the buratta and the branzino, they were out of, and I noticed that my server was more attentive to larger tables than he was to me, dining alone. That's one of my pet peeves. I realized that he would probably get a bigger tip from those other tables (even though I tip generously), but he didn't have to make it so obvious. I did enjoy the hearts of romaine salad and roast chicken that I ordered, and the budino was one of the best desserts I've ever had. I would have licked the plate if I had been at home."

  • "What a great place to go before a play at the 5th Avenue. Every dish we had was beautifully prepared. We shared an antipasto plate and the risotto for starters. The antipasto was delightful and risotto was exceptional. We both enjoyed our entrees, scallops for my husband and the lamb dish for me. Our service was attentive but not intrusive. I told our server my preference in wine types and he suggested one that was excellent."

  • "Made reservations a couple weeks before for a Friday noon spot. If you want a booth you should call them because booths are apparently reserved for regulars. We sat at a two-top in the center of the small restaurant, so it wasn't private, but it was comfortable enough. Pizza of the day was great but why didn't I order the salmon ravioli? But that was "my bad." Service was friendly and efficient. I think it's a good value. I'll return!"
