Diner Reviews
  • "The flavors were outstanding. The entrees better than appetizers but overall amazing. "

  • "A very happy time with a good friend. Just fun. Interesting menu. Terrific service by Star. Friendly And alive on Fifth!"

  • "This was the second restaurant in Naples we dined in where the waiter was obnoxiously pushing us to order more wine and showed his disappointment at our party of four that we did not order more. Two of us only ordered 2 glasses of wine and the waiter never stopped asking us throughout the whole meal if we wanted more. I'm not sure if it was because the season was winding down there or not, but this ruined our evening. Two of us decided to order appetizers for our main meal and again disappointment was shown. The ricotta app was good as well as the meatballs, but not amazing. My husband ordered the seafood dish and was happy, but again, not special. We will not be dining there again."

  • "Sorry they have changed the menu so much. It was much more unusual before."

  • "This was our second time there since they opened. I had the Tortelloni which I did enjoy. We started with a Classico pizza which we didn't care for. The crust was too thick for us. If its' crowded don't expect to have a conversation with your table as it is very loud & tables are very close together."

  • "Even though the menu was inventive, I chose the special Rigatoni because I wanted to try their meat sauce. It was outstanding. They were willing to split our course which not many restaurants want to do. I would definitely go back."

  • "Great dinner at Tulia. Bread and eggplant spread was a perfect start to the meal. Ordered a 2010 Rossa di Montalcino at a reasonable price. The meatball appetizer was A quality and large enough for two to share. The Gnocchi di Patate (gnocchi &rabbit ) was A+. Very light and flavorful. My guest had the Stracci (wild boar and pasta) which was equally flavorful. Great food. We ate indoors and had a nice comfortable table. We choose indoor seating as we wanted air conditioning. Outdoor seating looked equally comfortable for space and ambience . Waiter was very busy this night as he had many tables but was able to keep us satisfied and answered our questions accurately and in detail. We will eat at this wonderful establishment again."

  • "We've dined here several times and Tulia may be the best restaurant in Naples. The dishes are all highly creative, detailed, cooked to perfection. The restaurant would fit in well in Charleston or Miami as well. James, our server was charming and professional."

  • "Nestled on busy, somewhat flashy 5th Avenue, this restaurant certainly meets the mark in all the noteable areas: from the ambience, to the food and service, it really is a step above the rest. We loved the rustic farm house decor. The food far outpassed my expectations. The complimentary caponata was excellent, the perfect balance of sweet and sour and salty; as it should be. I have had octopus at numerous restaurants before and this was prepared perfectly. The house made pastas are certainly the real culinary achievement here. The straci with wild boar ragu was one of the best pastas I have had at a restaurant since my trip to Babbo last Spring. All in all, this is a gem and I would go back anytime to try everything on the menu."

  • "Starting with fried pig ears, the menu is both interesting and consistently good. No bad choices."

  • "Creative menu. Food is excellent atmosphere authentic Italian Osteria."

  • "From waiter to atmosphere..then the food, perfect!!! Awesome presentation, food was perfectly salted and seasoned. Family owned/operated and a strong sense of passion and love in their food!"

  • "What a delight. The atmosphere was relaxed yet the service quite professional and friendly. The house-made pastas were sensational and the by-the-glass wine list offered good choices (the Malbec was particularly good). We'll be back for certain."

  • "We have had dinner twice during the season. The food was exceptional on both occasions. Great seasonings to bring flavor to the dishes. Not for quiet dining but a terrific place to eat."

  • "We went on the recommendation of the concierge at our hotel. While dinner was fine i doubt we would go back. The salad i had was fine nothing special or different there and the pasta entree with short ribs that came highly recommended was tasty but not amazing. I arrived cold and while i like pasta al dente it was hard around the edges. My husband loved the salmon. They were out of his first choice appetizer so he went with the octopus which he said was good. The waitress was nice but we had to ask for everything twice to actually get it. It was good but with so many places to choose from on 5th i doubt we would go back."

  • "This was my first time there and I was very pleased with everything. The food was great. We both had pasta dishes, which were very different, but very good. The home made pasta was wonderful. I definitely plan on going back."

  • "The pasta dishes are excellent as is the service. I have ived in Naples 26 yrs and this is my favorite dining spot of all. Perfection."

  • "Awful waitress. Brought wrong drink, no apology. Leaned over table with an open pen and marked a sweater. No apology. Food not worth the price. Would not recommend."

  • "TULIA offers unique dishes that are creative and delicious. They offer more than the standard fare. Come here to enjoy the unique specialties. This is a gem on 5th, just check out the full tables."

  • "The flavor of the food was overpowered by pepper in every dish. Black pepper on two dishes and red pepper on another. So it was impossible to taste the food, or determine if the food had any flavor of its own. The location is very nice, however I would not recommend dining here."

  • "We have eaten at Tulia many times and have always enjoyed our experience. Saturday evening was a bit of an exception. The caponata which I usually gobble up and enjoy, was bitter. The aioli served with fried artichokes was excessively garlicky. We were celebrating a birthday and had hoped for a great experience, all in all, was just OK. A disappointment from previous experiences at Tulia."

  • "Excellent meal especially perfectly cooked fish and homemade pasta. Great service with very knowledgable waiter. Pretty outdoor seating. With wine and tip, $50 per person. Expensive but normal for Fifth Avenue in Naples."

  • "A most delicious evening ... our server, Fred, was fabulous and made great recommendations. The fresh burrata salad with heirloom tomatos was mouthwatering - could have been a dessert! The eggplant concoction that we were given to go along with the bread & olive oil was delightful! Our pasta entrees were perfection on a plate! We loved it so much - we bought a gift certificate to give to my son to use on his upcoming visit!"

  • "We have a few favorite restaurants in the Naples area that we go to every time we're in town. This one was just added to the list. I'm only sorry we didn't discover it earlier. The menu has so many wonderful options it was hard to choose. The triple tail was perfectly cooked and delicious with spinach and a light white wine butter sauce that really let the flavor of the fish shine through. There were wonderful special options as well...fried baby artichokes for a starter were just way too delicious! Leave room for dessert. The marshmallow, black pepper meringue frosted chocolate cake is to die for. Service was impeccable!"

  • "Another great meal at Tulia. Delicious food plated up with a smile. We always feel that the wait staff are glad to see you. Wood charred octopus still one of our favorite appetizers. Regardless of what seafood we order, it is always fresh and superbly prepared."

  • "Based on a number of favorable reviews, my husband and I tried Tulia for lunch. We were pleased with the ambiance, interesting menu, and wait staff. They very graciously honored our request to move to a quieter table when we were initially seated next to a group of very chatty women. We'll be back!"

  • "We enjoyed a linen-clad table on the patio with a "people watching" view of 5th Avenue on a lovely evening. Our server was excellent ~ knowledgeable, helpful, warm, and fun to talk to. The Garganelli Pasta with Lamb Neck Sugo was absolutely outstanding. My companion had the Linguini "with all the seafood in the house"; loved the red sauce, was perfectly seasoned to bring out all the delicious and varied flavors. Wish we could have carried this restaurant back to our home town! Will most definitely be back, and recommend highly."

  • "We had company in from New York and decided to bring them to Tulia for diner. We all enjoyed the rustic Italian food, from the fresh bread to the excellent deserts, everything was wonderful. Cant wait to return again."

  • "We arrived early and sat at the bar for a drink before dinner. The bartender recommended a light craft beer and it was the best my companion had ever had. The wine was delicious. The wait staff was super friendly and service was superb. Food had unusual twists to it, which made it a stand out and the taste was incredibly good. One thing I liked it had "gluten free" pasta. YEAH. They understand there are some of us that like pasta but not the gluten. It was wonderful! Overall great experience. If you are in Naples, you have to reserve a night to go to Tulia's for dinner."

  • "this restaurant is in my top 5. Excellent food, impeccable service, and great ambience. I had the triple tail (a local fish) and it was perfect. Pastas are made in house daily. Wine list is awesome. You would be comfortable here whether for a romantic dinner, or a family with kids. If you do not like high noise level, might not be place for you, as it is chatty and vibrant---I like that, but some don't. The food is Rustic Italian and is spectacular. Prices range from 19-36 for entrees. In Naples, a chef with this much talent is a rarity....don't miss it. You won't be disappointed."

  • "This is one of the most innovative Italian restarurant menus you will find anywhere. Exceptional quality and unique choices. We recommend splitting the Cacio e Pepe as an appetizer. The Garbanzo bean app is a simple fun app. Don't miss Tulia when in Naples. (Make you reservations days in advance...this is a very popular restaurant )"

  • "This place composes consistently excellent dishes and delivers "high-end" comfort food, Italian style. We have dined in most of the Naples hot spots, and find Tulia to have a great friendly atmosphere and the most consistently delicious food. This last time, we had the grilled octopus and sausage crostini appetizers and they were both delicious - the octopus was very tender and served with egg, frisee, and a little chorizo, and the sausage crostini was very tasty as well. Tortelloni and Scacchi were both excellent as well. The servers are knowledgable and friendly and there is not the "tude" you find in some of the other places."
