They were able to change the time of my reservation to accommodate my friends who were coming from San Mateo. Service was friendly and prompt. Food was delicious. The interior design and table settings were modern and nicely arranged. In this case, we got the best! Delicious food, tasty Turkish wine, a charismatic owner, and a cool setting made for a great meal with friends. The cold meze plate was filled with wonderful flavors (that salad in the middle!) and the grilled chicken skewers were delicious. It's worth the trip to find it in the Mission, though it's off the beaten path. I had a standard Adana Kabab which was listed as a specialty and Cevizli Ezme for the appetizer and my cohort had a shrimp dish. Right from the time I was seated the service was responsive and I had Pinot Grigio to go with my dishes. The bread that's served at the beginning is really quite tasty and I highly recommend the Cevizli Ezme. The ambiance is casual without being sloppy and designed without being snooty. Good vibe, good food and the waiters were efficient. The chocolate-shell creme brulee was served without spoons, and the cream filling was runny; they still need practice on this one. Thanks tuba!5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of a kindTuba is a true neighborhood gem. The Turkish cuisine is fascinating and delicious. The waiters seem enthusiastic about the offerings as well. They all seemed like one big happy family even though they probably aren't. Two of us had dumplings stuffed with beef in a yogurt sauce that was absolutely sensational. We were later told that the dumplings are hand made at the restaurant. Tuba is very affordable too. The wine list, though not extensive, is decent and very well priced. We had a very nice Malbec for $39. We were pleased with our find in Tuba. The restaurant is cozy. The service is friendly and efficient and the food was very good. We asked for dishes that represented the foods and wines of Turkey and were given good recommendations.
