I had invited two friends who had
been to Turkey a few times for both academic and holiday purposes - they also found the food at Tuba exquisite, the service personable and wonderful, the ambience inviting, and the noise level ok for conversation. From the wonderful selection of appetizers, the more wonderful entrees, the delicious desserts and the wonderful Turkish wine - it was again a delight!"

Great mezes and lamb chops. Very
good service. Comfortable atmosphere."

We knew Celal back when he ran New
Kapadokia in Redwood City, and it was one of our favorite restaurants. Tuba is even better! Food is fantastic, and the service is awesome. This is one of the best restaurants around - for foodies, for families, for couples. Highly recommend it!"
Dined on 2/15/2014
Service was great! As a first
timer to try turkish cuisine, we were recommended to try the sampler appetizer, it was delicious! The signature dishes were so good as well. I will go back and try more of the other dishes."

Another birthday celebration -
more exquisite food, outstanding service - and always such an awesome dining experience!"

We met an old friend for dinner in
this MIssion District restaurant and had a wonderful time. We shared a number of appetizers, main courses, and desserts. All the food was consistently excellent with authentic flavors and restaurant-quality presentation. We tried a bottle of red wine recommended by the owner, and were very pleased. The service was excellent: friendly but not obsequious and the timing of the food delivery was perfect (wonderfully leisurely without being slow). Our server was very attentive to our desire to talk and linger over the food. This is a pleasant, cozy restaurant with a comfortable level of noise/activity such that we could carry on a lively conversation (5 of us) with no trouble hearing each other."
Dined on 1/3/2014
From the moment we were greeted to
the time we left, the level of service was outstanding. The menu had a lot of great options both for meat lovers and vegetarians. The restaurant has a lot of character and it had a quiet atmosphere, good for either chatting with friends or having a romantic laid-back dinner."
Dined on 2/7/2014
I want to eat everything on the
menu. So good and cute, friendly neighborhood place."
Dined on 2/7/2014
Not on big radar screen but worth
the meal and friendly attention!! I will return"
Dined on 2/7/2014
The food here is delicious! Try
some Turkish specialties, unique to Tuba. We enjoyed all of our dishes. It has a friendly atmosphere, comfortable for families, groups, or couples."
Dined on 5/22/2013
I went to Tuba with a group of 4
total and it was a great experience. It was a Monday night, so not very crowded, but the family who owns the restaurant rotated serving us. They had great recommendations of apps/entrees/wine and were very friendly. The food was excellent and we had a great time!"
Dined on 2/3/2014
I was looking for a neighborhood
restaurant we had not tried yet, and no one in our group had sampled Turkish cuisine before. The four of us ordered different entrees, one appetizer, and one dessert. The appetizer was the white bean salad, with different types of yogurt and eggplant; the four entrees were the dumplings, the lamb cubes with rice and salad, the lamb shank (special), and the lamb chops. I do not have enough space to rave about the food, because all of it was exceptional; everything stood out because it was all excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner, down to the bread, butter with spices, and the Efes beer, and look forward to coming back to try more dishes. Everything was tasty, not overspiced, and perfectly cooked."

Great experience! Very flavorful
and great service!"

The Somon was baked to perfection.
The usage of the various spices was impeccable. Excellent presentation. Staff very hospitable."
Dined on 4/25/2013
Food was delicious, the signature
dishes were amazing. The waiter was really nice and helpful. I would go back, soon and often."
Dined on 1/28/2014
Running late for our reservation
and the person on the phone put me at ease especially since the restaurant was able to accommodate. Foods were tasty, servers personable and happy to help explain the foods we were ordering, plate were beautifully presented. I would definitely come again. Thank you."
Dined on 1/26/2014
We were just two and my partner
was a bit in arriving but the restaurant was very accommodating and I ordered a wine while waiting which didn't quite fit my taste buds they replaced it very easily. Immediate +++ points for that. Thank you. Then with my partner we had ordered a couple of appetizers - Dolma & Sigara Boregi. Both quite delicious and we ended up sharing a main course since we weren't that hungry at the point. Adana Kebab for the main course was great except it felt like the spices were but over done. Other than that a good experience."
Dined on 1/25/2014
We were recently in Turkey and
wanted to find a local spot with authentic Turkish recipes. Tuba completely exceeded our expectations. I recommend the house specialties for all courses...including desert."
Dined on 1/23/2014
The food is good but it's not
exactly authentic...more a middle-Eastern and Greek with some Turkish thrown in melange. I grew up with a Turkish grandmother so I know Turkish. I like this place, however - it was our second time there, and I would return for a nice meal,...the owner is a nice guy and they really want to please you."
Dined on 1/18/2014
I was encouraged to go here with a
1,000 point deal. We had a wonderful time, the owners are very hospitable, staff is friendly yet professional, food was delicious at a good price. We celebrated a friend's birthday here, and we don't regret it."
Dined on 1/17/2014
The menu is great, the food is
delicious - great for all kinds of eaters - vegetarians, vegans, omnivores - the cold meza platter appetizer is a meal for 2 unto itself. Everything was delicious and the flavors were amazing! The waitress was attentive and accommodating. Very helpful in describing Turkish dishes the diner may not be familiar with... and the wine prices were great and every wine i've had there (and we did try the Turkish wine) was excellent!"
Dined on 1/15/2014
and check out this under-the-radar
gem. Delicious, well-priced Mediterranean made with love from family recipes. The platter of appetizer spreads was spectacular and the lamb and salmon entrees weren't far behind. Even the Turkish (!) wine was delicious. The room is cozy and the service extremely gracious."
Dined on 1/12/2014
This restaurant was a hit! It is
run by a married couple (husband was at the front of the restaurant as the host and also helping the wait staff; the wife created the menu and was running the kitchen). It was crowded, but it did not feel overwhelming. The food was delicious and actaully pretty healthy (most of the menu is based on vegetables and spices with the accent of meat). Great find; will be back...many times!"
Dined on 1/10/2014
i love it here and have been many
times. this time i brought a friend who had never been here and she was so excited to have a new great place to go. she had the eggplant stuffed with meat and i had the vegetarian version. both were delicious. Also- the turkish wines are excellent, i'm hooked on the yakut and it's become my 'go to' wine when i dine there. super friendly and great food."
Dined on 1/8/2014
Tuba is the perfect balance of the
old world, traditional, family run restaurant with delicious, fresh cuisine. The service is warm, friendly, and impeccable, the food delicious, and if you're lucky, the owner will show up at your table spinning a tray of Turkish coffee to send you on your way smiling. Unbeatable for a date, or quiet family dinner."
Dined on 1/7/2014
Tuba takes Turkish food to a new
level. Acombination of traditional dishes and modern adaptations make for a delightful dining experience. Creative recipes, skilled use of Turkish spices and a keen sense of texture, flavor make for a culinary adventure. You will never taste another dolma like this again. This is a neighborhood restaurant you will repeatedly visit. It will become one of your favorites."
Dined on 11/23/2013
Had a delicious meal. Freshly
cooked food to order. Everything was tasty and portions were generous. Had excellent service, too!"
Dined on 1/2/2014
just another wonderful dinner for

Last minute reservation on a
Sunday night for treating my best friend and wife to a holiday dinner. Had a great meal, good service and a wonderful visit with our friends. The Kunefe was awesome. I will be sending my Lebanese friend to enjoy his favorite dessert. Our meal experience was a pleasant surprise."
Dined on 12/15/2013
We were a group of four on a
Sunday evening. The restaurant was not crowded, so noise level was blessedly low. The ambience was very, very pleasant, and the service was excellent -- friendly and attentive, but not overly so. We love Turkish food and were not disappointed. The cold appetizers (especially kIzartma) were excellent and presented beautifully. A grilled fish special (sea bream) was superb. Meat dishes (adana kebap, lamb chops) were very good. We will definitely return."
Dined on 12/8/2013
Great food! Warm people. I got a
complimentary small tasting glass of some Turkish wine. Was a real treat."
Dined on 12/6/2013
This is a destination food
location for me! I tried it once, was blown away and continue to be impressed each time I go. The Pepperoncini Prawns are the best appetizer in town! And the service is great! Super spot in San Francisco for anyone that knows food and loves flavor."
Dined on 11/20/2013
We had a date night with another
couple. Since both of us have children we don't know a lot of restaurants in the city. We picked Tuba almostly at random and were so glad we did. The food was delicious. I went with the waiters recommendation for entree and appetizer. The service was excellent never was my water glass empty."
Dined on 11/22/2013
love the food here. try the
turkish red wine- suprisingly wonderful, and they are willing to let you taste before you commit!"
Dined on 9/30/2013
The food here was pretty good, but
wasn't worth the prices that we paid for them. The appetizer that we got (I don't remember the name because it was on recommendation from the waiter) was by far the best part of the meal. My kabob was pretty good but didn't have much with it. My girlfriend got the stuffed dumpling, which was pretty flavorless. We ended the night with the baklava, which was above average, but cost $8 for two small pieces- probably 2-3 times the price I would expect to pay most other places."
Dined on 11/2/2013
I had a lovely experience overall
at Tuba; I'm always hesitant about eating out alone, but the owner made me feel more than welcome, and gave me a pleasant table where I could read and eat. The food was very good indeed. Plentiful, tasty and authentic, and the Turkish wine selection was also good. The service is attentive, friendly and patient with those who don't know Turkish food well. I'm definitely going back with friends, since they had several large tables, and the mezes are really best shared in a large group."
Dined on 11/1/2013
once again an awesome dining
experiences - excellent and exquisite Turkish food, excellent presentation, good service, nice ambience. always bring out-of-town friends here for dinner and they also rave about it!"
Dined on 10/25/2013
The food was good, the services
friendly. I had the lamb shank price fix and it was delicious. Everyone at the table enjoyed their food and the experience. Overall great restaurant and I will definitely go back!"
Dined on 10/20/2013
We started with the cold mezes
plate, eight savory appetizers, served with fresh flatbread, replenished quickly. It was a lot of food and would have been enough for the two of us, but we soldiered on and split the Sebzeli Güveç, a lamb casserole. The hot mezes look good for next time. And I really want to try the goat cheese stuffed falafel. There are lots of flavory-sounding entrees involving lamb and kebabs and eggplant. There are many choices for vegetarians and several recipes are marked as gluten free, a nice touch. I would suggest a party of three or more, or plan to go back more often to taste everything. The service and wine list matched the food. A very satisfying dining experience, and the tab was quite reasonable."
Dined on 10/16/2013
Tuba is one of the best Turkish
restaurants I've been to - in the US, Germany and The Netherlands! Both the starter (meze) and main course were excellent. Everything was handled expertly, yet at the same time the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. The more people at your table, the more chance to try a little of everything!"
