We started with the soup of the day (a proscuitto and corn soup) and the fat & fat appetizer (a portion of pork belly in a delicious asian type sauce and a portion of foie gras with blueberry toast). Both were delicious and I can definitely see why the waiter recommended the fat & fat. For our entress, we had the grouper with a pea and bacon risotto as well as the duck special. Both were cooked perfectly. The grouper was flaky and flavorful while the risotto melted in your mouth. The duck was moist and delicious. It was a healthy ruby color, had subdued fruity flavors and that zesty taste that accompanies 8% alcohol content. In fact, from the mustard that accompanied the otherwise bland and salt-less pretzel mini-loaf to the house salad and free-range chicken, everything was wonderfully spiced. Having a had a more intimate experience with the burger than the chicken, I'd rate it right up there with the one served at Rocksteady: densely made, laden with flavor and just drippy enough to be noticed, but not annoyingly so.

Intersting menu not just the usual stuff gotta give credit there. Plenty of fancy beers. Nice outdoor patio but wish there weren't so many smokers out there - I would go more often. Had the Penne with meat sauce which was outstanding and wife had the sausage of the day also great. Tried two other things which we didn't like and they took them back gladly. I also had the watermelon salad, very refreshing and healthy(spinach, pine nuts). The iceberg salad it's also delicious. Inside is somewhat noisier. Warmly greeted and seated right away, the staff is young and energetic. Our server was extremely attentive until it got a bit busy, about 30 minutes in. He forgot some wine, we were served a lovely (albeit small) cheese plate without explanation of the selections presented. When he took our credit cards for payment, he stopped at a large table to take their order beforehand. It took about 20 minutes to finally get our bills. The wine list is interesting and pairs well with the food. The food is very creative and contemporary. We were a group of 6. Our waiter Matt was delightful. Very helpful and concerned that we were all very satisfied. Three of us ordered fish tacos. Matt said they were not spicey.When I tasted mine, they were very spicey. Matt immeditely wanted to take it back. At first I said no, Then the manager came over and insisted that he make it the way I wanted it. I agreed and they were perfect. The menu is unique and all the ingredients are freshly grown.
