Diner Reviews
  • "Favorite place in delray. Great food, beer list and service. Plus you can eat outside away from the bustle of Atlantic ave."

  • "Great restaurant! Amazing food, friendly and knowledgeable service! Love the patio"

  • "Went with friends to Tryst. Our first time there. Fortunate to have outdoor seating on the patio. Food was very good. My wife had chicken snitzel and I had the short ribs special. Both were very good meals. Our companions had the fish tacos and a salad. Both looked fabulous. Great service with proper level of attentiveness. Highly recommended."

  • "This is a great added new restaurant to the vibrant Atlantic Ave. There are a lot of choices to pick from. The shrimp appetizer is delicious. Other items that were loved at our table: fish tacos, braised short ribs and one of the best meatloafs around. The only that I found negative was the wine list but they place is still new so maybe those will change. The mixed drinks were great in place!"

  • "This is an amazing and intimate find. The food is excellent and the staff is courteous, helpful and extremely friendly. We are local residents and eat here on average of once a week. The music is a plus!"

  • "We got there in time to enjoy happy hour at the bar before dinner. The only thing negative thing that I can say about dinner was that there were no specials that really peeked our interest. We had the Burger, 2 Fish Tacos, and Pad Thai. We also had the Fish Dip. All were very good and we all would order them again. The service was very good, our glasses were never more than half full. We have eaten here many times and will be back again."

  • "I went th Tryst with a group of about 10 people and they were able to accommodate us to our needs. The place isn't too large so any group bigger that that may feel squeezed together, but I will definitely come back to Tryst for a date night, the place is really cute and cozy."

  • "Food was ok, nothing special. charcuterie was NOT worth the money, extremely small portion and variety for price. Not enough choices for someone that eats chicken, fish and seafood only. Much of the food choices were spicy. Prices were high for portion size. Waitress was knowledgable but horrible serving etiquette. She reached in front of me to serve both sides and end of table, I had to smell her stinky armpit all night, not sure why she did not move around table to serve everyone. Difficult to have conversation due to noise level. Wait staff argued with each other in front of us several times, service was EXTREMELY slow. I would not recommend this restaurant."

  • "Great food, full bar & lovely outdoor dining in the courtyard. There is a full bar and inside dining as well. We enjoyed ourself very much. Only issue was that OpenTable posted that the restaurant was open for dinner at 4 PM on Sundays. We made a 4:30 PM reservation for an early dinner after a beach day. The website said they began dinner service at 5:30. We found out that they stop serving after brunch on Sunday and then begin dinner service at 5:30. There was no table service at 4:30 but we were invited to get a drink at the bar and sit anywhere. We chose an outdoor table, had a cocktail and watched the band setup. By 5:00 we could order appetizers and dinner at 5:30. The food was worth the wait, even for our teenagers."

  • "On vacation and wanted a reasonable place to dine, with a fun vibe To go out with friends before we went dancing next door To Dulux. The food was delicious, most of my friends had the fish Tacos, and their playes were wiped clean. I had a burger and it was delicious with a twist."

  • "This was my first brunch experience at Tryst and I wasn't disappointed! The French Toast was spectacular and the service was impeccable...my glass never even had a chance to make it to the halfway mark without being refilled (and may I add - the most perfect mimosas I've ever tasted!). We also ordered eggs, which apparently, during cooking, suffered a yolk break. We hadn't even noticed until a server had appeared at our table with a new set of perfectly cooked eggs to replace the ones that I thought were great to begin with. The staff was beyond friendly and accommodating. While the brunch menu doesn't offer very much variety, what they do offer, is perfection. I highly recommend Tryst - fantastic experience!"

  • "We have been to this restaurant several times with rave reviews but this time was a big zero. Unfortunately we brought friends who had never been. We were embarrassed by the whole experience....first the hostess called to say that they couldn't give us an outside table....even though I made my reservation with outside table request several weeks prior, then they managed to accomodate us by giving us a table crammed in the way back of the patio next to the compressor and garden hose, in the dark. I am guessing on purpose after giving them a difficult time. The service was terrible. Took them 20 mins to bring a bottle of wi when another 20 til the waitress took our order. The food was good and that was the only redeeming factor."

Wasn't gonna work for a dinner with my husbands boss. We then asked if we could sit in an empty table on the sidewalk. Our server, Teddy, was amazing! Extremely knowledgable about the food, bourbon/beer combos, and even down to a spectacular bottle of wine- which is always risky. Will definitely return for delicious food and Teddy's great service!"

  • "Fine food but sitting outdoors is paramount to sitting in the smoking section in years back and with the noise from the straight pipes Harleys and the panhandlers it was horrible!"

  • "We had a reservation for an outside table. When we arrived they said they had to put us inside. This is a bar scene and we had to eat with people standing all around us drinking. We could barely hear ourselves. The food was adequate. There was a scarcity of desserts. We shared a dry apple crisp with dry granola on the apples and didn't even eat it. The service, however, was very good. We won't be back to this restaurant."

  • "Tryst never disappoints the wine list is a delight! Really enjoyed the Papillon which is a rare find at a great price. My husband, son and I really enjoyed dinner. The marrow and foie gras were delicious as always! I tried the meatloaf for the first time! Out of this world - tender, delicious the layers of flavors amazing. It was our first time sitting outside must say I prefer the courtyard. The service was impeccable as usual."

  • "We were looking for a restaurant on Atlantic Ave that had a 7:30 seating available on a Saturday night. Tryst was available and we'd never been there before so we throught we'd try it out but didn't expect too much. We were pleasantly surprised by the selection of beer and wine and the food was outstanding! The waiter could have been a little more attentive but the overall experience was wonderful and we look forward to going back."

  • "This restaurant is still OK, but not like it was originally. The changes in chef and manager have not done anything good for this restaurant. I hope this restaurant ownership will bring the quality of food and service back to where it was."

  • "To be brief, both the food and service were quite good for our Valentine's Day dinner. A small issue with the sound system early on, but that was resolved quickly. After that, everything went smoothly. On a different topic, I think we're long past the time to eliminate restroom attendants. I really don't want/need someone to hand me a paper towel, thanks."

  • "We've been to Tryst many times over the last couple of years. The food and service are consistently very good. Our visit on 2/7 was no different. There was a change of management since our last visit and new and exiting menu. While the menu featured a simpler type of fare, they did a great job with it. I had a fish and chips dish where the fish was fresh and the batter light and flavorful. My partner had a pasta dish that was amazing. Keep up the good work."

  • "We didn't know anything about Tryst, but it was on of the few Atlantic Ave. places where we could get a last minute rez on a Saturday night. Uh oh, maybe there is a reason why. Well, to get to the point, this will now be a place we recommend to friends! We truly enjoyed everything about the place -- the fun vibe, the funky outdoor garden (with plenty of heaters), the excllent service, and most important (to us, anyway) the top-quality food."

  • "This was our first time at this restaurant. I was a little concerned when they were packed and they lost our reservations. No big deal when they sat us without a problem. Exceptional beer and wine list with the waiter recommending two beers to go with our entrees. The fish and chips were good but the chips were just French fries. I had the salmon which was done perfectly. Overall this place was very nice with nice rustic decor and reasonable prices. It was nice to be able to take my wife out and not spend $100.00. Try it."

  • "Fun dining on the Atlantic Avenue strip. The food was really good. We All had different dishes (there were five of us,) and everyone really enjoyed what they had. There were a few specials that were ordered, spaghetti bolognes, whole trout with delicious eggplant, tomatoes, and peppers (yum), fish tacos, chicken fajita flatbread, and a pork belly BLT. The drinks were very good, too. The prices were very reasonable. Highly recommended!"

  • "We were Tryst customers for the past 3 years and we were very happy with the food and service. This time we were very disappointed. The menu was inadequate, our reservation was messed up and we left very unhappy. I guess it's going to be a while until we go back again."

  • "I've been here multiple times and every time I leave, I always want more. The prices, location, and menu demand better and it's a real hit or miss spot. Delray is a vibrant scene and as far as gastropubs, this one is probably on my bottom list. I usually spend a good penny for dinner and drinks and the only thing that really saves it is the craft beer. The fish dip was very fishy and they wouldn't let us order some diced tomatoes to mix in. The Banh Mi Pork Belly Lettuce Wraps/Cups were okay. The Fish and Chips were so so, I basically paid for salty fried fish and a plateful of fries, and my friend had the smallest Wedge Salad I've seen in awhile. Don't get me wrong, it's not terrible but I'm always leaving wanting more."

  • "First time at Tryst and it was fabulous! Our party included children, and though they do not have a children's menu, the chef made my daughter a bowl of pasta with butter and chicken nuggets (gourmet :) ). The Mahi tacos were outstanding, the meatloaf dish delish, and the pad thai was spicy and just the way my husband likes it! All in all, a great experience with great food."

  • "From the moment we walked into the restaurant I knew this was not going to be a good experience. The Manager tried to seat us at an indoor table in the rear of the place when we specifically requested an outdoor table. That was one of the reasons we went to the place. The menu was limited and we selected what was to our taste. C'mon 2 fish tacos and no sides(rice and beans could be offered. Pasta in a bowl the size of a portion of cereal??? Fish and chips that were over fried and black. Sent the fish and chips back and waited 15 minutes for its replacement. Asked for a check and was out of there.Went to another restaurant and ate. The place should pay us to have eaten there. Better off at other Atlantic Ave restaurants. STAY AWAY"
