The staff at Trummers were very professional, friendly made us feel welcome! The food was great and the pace at which it was served was perfect. I don't like it when you are paying top dollar and the bartender (or any service staff) has a cocky attitude. Staff very good, but the jeans noticeably too casual...Decor nearly Pottery Barn perfect...but got lost in /confused effort to be modern or colonial or rustic without every making commitment to any style. Owner friendly/welcoming but curious that he told they hired new chef to start in few weeks-explains the uneven menu. All that being said, a most enjoyable evening, very good meal. The food was tasty, and although my pan roasted swordfish was perfectly cooked - crisp on the outside, moist and tender inside, the sides were not warm... cold gnocchi and spoonbread - disappointing.
The main reason I would NOT recommend Trummers is that is not a good value. The prices were way too high - was I paying for the lovely dining room more than the food, which was good but did not merit the cost? We enjoyed a cocktail at the bar before going upstairs for dinner. I had the Titanic which was fabulous, my husband had the Manhattan and said it was one of the best he has had. The bar staff was very knowledgeable about the menu and made great recommendations!
We enjoyed our time at the bar so much that we want to back and just dine at the bar next time for a more casual outing.

They never fail to impress me every time I go in. I bring all my family or visiting friends to Trummers. The food is excellent I am working my way through the menu and have not found a thing I did not love. I enjoy Trummers for a few drinks with friends, Sunday Brunch, or a romantic dinner. Furthermore the plating and presentation of the food also do not match the overall quality/flavors. The restaurant is nearly there, but for the moment I tend to think Trummers needs a bit of an ego check. I can get similar quality food for $10 less per plate at other restaurants. The service is wonderful, the ambiance/space is perfect, and the cocktails get two thumbs up for quality - the food just doesn't get live up to its expectations. Tasty, sure, but not amazing. On our last visit, we splurged and had the Chef's tasting menu with paired wine tastings. Five small plates prepared by the chef were served. the spring lamb and Atlantic salmon were notable. There was an extra dish and a few extra wine pairings thrown in for lagniappe! Memorable evening. The service has always been very good - drink refills appear seamlessly and the food service is well-paced. The server's recommendations were great. The only kink in an otherwise very nice visit was that my after-dinner coffee was only warm instead of piping hot. I didn't bother to bring it to the attention of the server though, as we were wrapping things up anyway. The food was wonderfully tasty and certainly unique when compared to "standard" restaurant fare. The servers were attentive without being intrusive and they suggested a wonderful wine for us. We have been to Trummer's a number of times before for splendid dinners and this visit was more of the same. The chef even created a special off-menu dessert based on my father's favorite ingrediates of coconut and peanut butter.
