Loved the energy of the place and of the servers. As a whole the food was good. Would not get the beet salad again. Very little beets and cheese with lots and lots of greens. A good place to meet up with friends. Have eaten here many times.

I have had some good to very good dinners here, but this was not one of them. I had the $20.14 special. The crab cakes, while nicely sautéed and served very warm, did not taste too much like crab. The beef short ribs in a delicious sauce were very fatty, and the poached pear (which was served with ice cream) was tasteless.

Trumbull Kitchen offers a Good for pre-theater, with a good selection of drinks and appetizers, stone pies (= pizzas) and entrees. Restaurant has a relatively high noise level, a result of an active after-work professional bar crowd, which may deter some older patrons. Part of the Max group of resturants, with prices to match.

We had the best service experience in a long time at any establishment. Attentive, helpful , not hovering. Food with interesting pairings and nice portions. The noise level may bother some folks but did not interfere with our 4 person conversation. Try it.

I highly recommend Trumbull Kitchen as a great place for a pre game/event place to eat.....great food, convenient to the "Civic Center", and great, prompt service....make SURE you make a reservation on these nights as they fill up rapidly....I suggest at least a 90 minute window to allow enough time for drinks, meals and time to get through security and into your seats for your event...

Brought in some guests from France and Sweden for dinner. They had a great time, food was fantastic, waiter was very attentive, and the manager on duty checked on us several times for which I was duly impressed! My guests talked about their experience many times the following day in meetings. I will be back again, you can count on that! Mark

Great pre-theatre dinner at TK. The "Healthy Salad" is phenomenal, and I'm not normally one to order healthy or eat vegetarian. Did try the appetizer special, grilled oysters with what was supposed to be spicy sage butter. Just didn't work, and not spicy at all, but not everything can be a home run. Service professional and friendly as always.

The Manhattan clam chowder was pretty bad. Lousy tasting broth, and extremely rubbery and miserly seafood Service was extremely friendly and attentive. Even something as simple as keeping the water glasses filled- we never had to ask. throughout the meal A number of servers helped us and were all great. Also appreciated the discount w theatre tix, tho that wasn't advertised anywhere. How come?

Hadn't been to Trumbull in a while, but was pleased with the service and food. Dom't care for their choice of background music tho. Staff seemed to go out of its way to be welcoming and friendly- which was nice. Have the feeling its not quite the hot spot it used to be, but that is ok because we got a better table this time.

I frequent the Max restaurants, including TK. I usually receive exceptional service. However, on our most recent visit to TK, the service was anything but exceptional. It took too long for our drinks ("bar was backed up") and one of our four meals came after finishing two of the other three ("computer wasn't working"). In fact, as we were finishing, a different server brought out duplicates of all four meals--as if we had never received them. That night was not the experience I expected.

We made reservations through open table requesting a window seat. We were seated at a table behind the bar with a view of absolutely nothing; a table you place your unwelcomed guests. The restaurant was fairly empty with a table available by the window. We asked to be moved to any of the empty booths on the "second" level, since all the tables were empty. Then, our waitress kept forgetting about us because we were her only table on the second level. Overall, disappointed.

On our way to a show at the XL center, the Trumbal Kitchen was able to seat us early and allowed us to say until showtime. The attention from staff was excellent even though it was a very busy night. The bar had a few rye whiskies which is a favorite of mine. The rock shrimp fritters and calimary over slaw were delicious apps. I had the seafood pad thai and it was very tasty. Everyone though their dinner was great and the price was reasonable.

Food choice was limited because it was a pre-concert menu (which they offer the entire dining room whether you're headed to concert or not). Food was great but, despite the "reduced menu for quicker service to ensure you catch your show," someone totally dropped the ball on our order and we didn't receive our food until 10 minutes before we needed to leave. They handled it professionally though, the manager wouldn't place blame re: front of house/back of house (good for her), and they took all of our food charges off of our bill. They handled this with class - most restaurants these days would just make lame excuse and offer you a free beer. So I will be back to give them another chance!

My wife and I have been to Trumbull Kitchen a number of times and have always had a great meal. Friday night we were seated , looked at the menu and my wife looked at me a told me there was nothing on the menu she would eat. She likes scallops but not thi spices & short ribs but not sticky rice so she asked to put the garlic mashed and spring vegetables with the short ribs. There was no hesitation by the waitress to say ok and it was superb when it was delivered. I had the thi scallops which had excellent favor and preparation. The waitress was very attentive but not hovering. The manager came over to our table with an anniversary card signed by the entire staff (a lovely touch to our anniversary dinner).

I had the Chimichanga which was simply sensational. In addition to the chicken, there were various vegetables along with a sweet sauce making it truly unique. My guest had the lamb patty which was fantastic. In short, this place takes simple dishes and applies a unique twist: fusion. At its best.

We were celebrating a birthday with friends and had a wonderful time. The waitress was helpful and came when we needed her but left us when we were needing privacy. Other staff were helpful as well if we needed them. The food was delicious! We were confused by the asterisks so almost didn't order anything that we really wanted. The waitress stepped in and reassured us. Great meal, and very nice and quiet. I have hearing problems and had not problem. Thanks you,

I have been here twice now and had the rock shrimp and sweet potato fritters both times and I cannot believe how tasty and amazing they are. The creme brûlée is out of this world and the whole restaurant is beautiful and I. Any wait to go back. However, we did get followed and asked for money on our way back to the parking garage...I know it's Hartford, but I still want to feel safe walking to my car after a nice dinner.

We arrived expecting the "Taste of Hartford" special prix fixe menu based on what was probably erroneous information on the Taste website (I did think it strange that the event would end on a Monday instead of the usual Sunday). The restaurant graciously gave us the same deal anyway and since they didn't have the desserts from the "Taste of Hartford" menu left, let us pick any desserts off the regular menu at no charge. Everything we ate was outstanding. The clam appetizer and scallops with sticky rice entree both had unique flavors that worked really well. I've been to this restaurant several times over the years and have never been disappointed.
