I'm a regular at very few restaurants around Hartford. TK is one of them because of their excellent food and interesting menu. Of course the Moscow Mule is a favorite as well.

I frequent the Max restaurants, including TK. I usually receive exceptional service. However, on our most recent visit to TK, the service was anything but exceptional. It took too long for our drinks ("bar was backed up") and one of our four meals came after finishing two of the other three ("computer wasn't working"). In fact, as we were finishing, a different server brought out duplicates of all four meals--as if we had never received them. That night was not the experience I expected.

We made reservations through open table requesting a window seat. We were seated at a table behind the bar with a view of absolutely nothing; a table you place your unwelcomed guests. The restaurant was fairly empty with a table available by the window. We asked to be moved to any of the empty booths on the "second" level, since all the tables were empty. Then, our waitress kept forgetting about us because we were her only table on the second level. Overall, disappointed.

On our way to a show at the XL center, the Trumbal Kitchen was able to seat us early and allowed us to say until showtime. The attention from staff was excellent even though it was a very busy night. The bar had a few rye whiskies which is a favorite of mine. The rock shrimp fritters and calimary over slaw were delicious apps. I had the seafood pad thai and it was very tasty. Everyone though their dinner was great and the price was reasonable.

Food choice was limited because it was a pre-concert menu (which they offer the entire dining room whether you're headed to concert or not). Food was great but, despite the "reduced menu for quicker service to ensure you catch your show," someone totally dropped the ball on our order and we didn't receive our food until 10 minutes before we needed to leave. They handled it professionally though, the manager wouldn't place blame re: front of house/back of house (good for her), and they took all of our food charges off of our bill. They handled this with class - most restaurants these days would just make lame excuse and offer you a free beer. So I will be back to give them another chance!

My wife and I have been to Trumbull Kitchen a number of times and have always had a great meal. Friday night we were seated , looked at the menu and my wife looked at me a told me there was nothing on the menu she would eat. She likes scallops but not thi spices & short ribs but not sticky rice so she asked to put the garlic mashed and spring vegetables with the short ribs. There was no hesitation by the waitress to say ok and it was superb when it was delivered. I had the thi scallops which had excellent favor and preparation. The waitress was very attentive but not hovering. The manager came over to our table with an anniversary card signed by the entire staff (a lovely touch to our anniversary dinner).

I had the Chimichanga which was simply sensational. In addition to the chicken, there were various vegetables along with a sweet sauce making it truly unique. My guest had the lamb patty which was fantastic. In short, this place takes simple dishes and applies a unique twist: fusion. At its best.

We were celebrating a birthday with friends and had a wonderful time. The waitress was helpful and came when we needed her but left us when we were needing privacy. Other staff were helpful as well if we needed them. The food was delicious! We were confused by the asterisks so almost didn't order anything that we really wanted. The waitress stepped in and reassured us. Great meal, and very nice and quiet. I have hearing problems and had not problem. Thanks you,

I have been here twice now and had the rock shrimp and sweet potato fritters both times and I cannot believe how tasty and amazing they are. The creme brûlée is out of this world and the whole restaurant is beautiful and I. Any wait to go back. However, we did get followed and asked for money on our way back to the parking garage...I know it's Hartford, but I still want to feel safe walking to my car after a nice dinner.

This was our first visit to Trumbull Kitchen. The menu selections were very unusual, so we did not know what to expect. The Cajun chicken corn chowder was outstanding. It was very flavorful with just a little kick. The pressed chick was absolutely delicious. Tender, juicy chicken and lots of it! Our server, Stephanie was terrific.

We arrived expecting the "Taste of Hartford" special prix fixe menu based on what was probably erroneous information on the Taste website (I did think it strange that the event would end on a Monday instead of the usual Sunday). The restaurant graciously gave us the same deal anyway and since they didn't have the desserts from the "Taste of Hartford" menu left, let us pick any desserts off the regular menu at no charge. Everything we ate was outstanding. The clam appetizer and scallops with sticky rice entree both had unique flavors that worked really well. I've been to this restaurant several times over the years and have never been disappointed.

I was not happy with the restaurant for a few reasons. I asked that the reservation be increased from 4 - 6 and they said it was not possible. During the entire meal there were two small tables which could have been added to ours to make room for 6. The restaurant was not crowded at all. The two appetizers we tried - the watermelon salad and clams were uninspired. My scallops were good. The lemon dessert was good but the peaches with goat cheese and granola had too much granola - too dry, needed ice cream desparately. No interest in returning.

Food was well-done and they had a special restaurant week menu with great options...ordered drinks and waited 10 mins, then server came to order meals and we then got apps before our drinks! Then the food came flying out (we ordered 4 of the same dishes and one other different one) and it was like "are you ready for dessert?" Server came by several times to ask if all was ok, etc. and we did point out that the drinks were not there twice before they came.

TK has always been in my top 3 fave places to meet with colleagues and friends. I have only had dinners at TK so I cannot review lunches. After numerous visits, I have to sadly say, what happend? Picking at little plates and having a few cocktails has always been phenomenal. I will say that my last visit there, Friday, was so sadly disappointing. The drinks were great, but the food was very mundane, flavorless, with poor presentation. After the last few visits seeming to increase in disappointment, I think my last visit was just that. I loved this place!!!

I had the watermelon salad as my app and the chicken dish for my entree. Everyone in our group was very happy with their choices. We chose to dine outside so I can't comment on the inside atmosphere.

This is the 2nd time I've done the prefix menu at TK and it is the 2nd time it sucked. The main course was the only yummy part, but it still looked blah upon presentation. The clam app was awful (2 measley clams) and the dessert was not desirable - super dry cobbler. It's easy to see that these dishes together were only worth, or not even worth the $25 prefix price. I would avoid the prefixes there from now on, based on my experiences.

Very much enjoyed Trumbull Kitchen. Our dinners were very good. We didn't get anything terribly upscale (delicious meatloaf and chicken sandwich) but it was perfectly prepared and tasty. Our waitress Whitney was fabulous. We ended up back at the bar after a show and really enjoyed our relaxing time there, enjoying some wine and the spinach and artichoke dip. Fun and attentive bar staff. We will go back in a heartbeat when we're in town again.

Can't really think of any negatives from the experience. Everything was very good. If I have to nitpick, they don't serve enough lettuce with the Asian Lettuce Cups appetizer. The Rock Shrimp Sweet Potato fritters were excellent. Overall, another positive experience at TK.

The food at Trumbull kitchen is consistently wonderful and our last visit was no exception. We started with some of the featured summer cocktails. The cucumber Collins tasted like summer in a glass. I Had the short ribs which were tender and tasty. My dining companion had the mahi mahi. She indicated the fish was good but the sides were fabulous. The fish was served with a lima bean succotash and a pea purée which were terrific. My only complaint was that the wait service was a little slow.
