Truluck's Seafood, Steak and Crab House - HoustonPar for the course!As usual this visit was delightful! Food was prepared and served well (our server was on top of his game...I think it was Chris) and my guest was just floored with the food, the presentation and the ambiance!

While we are long-time customers, we can't be classified as frequent diners. In spite of that, even the valet folks recognize us! We had a booth in the back - very quiet. It can be a little noisy, but the quality of food and service makes noise a minor issue. It is one of the few places in Houston that will serve a rare to medium rare

Truluck's put us at a nice table, had a wonderful lunch, and they surprised the birthday girls with special desserts prepared by the chef. We all had a

Nice house salad to start, with carefully selected greens. Between the 4 of us we sampled the small filet, tuna and a scallop special, plus the schezuan green beans and mashed potatoes. Everything was delicious and we finisehd with the chocolate bag filled with berries, cream and pound cake. It was a very generous size and just right for 4 people. SetHad a wonderful time. Set close to the bar which was very noisy (Friday at 5:30 pm) but at our table it wasn't very noticable. The Florida Stone Crab Claws were wonderful. We both had Idaho trout. I had the pan-seared and my wife had the Hot & Crunchy. The sides of rice and asparagus were very good. From the minute we walked in the front door we were greeted by name & the hostess acknowledged that it was our 1st visit. She was gracious & helpful in telling us that Happy Hour was still going on in the bar & that information saved us 25% on a good bottle of wine. The food was very good & well presented. Try the Crab Cake as it was grilled & quite good. The Carrot Cake is enough for 4 or more people & it is excellent.3/10/2013 12:00:00 AM
