Truluck's Seafood, Steak and Crab House - Ft. LauderdaletruluckDinner was a rea treat on MOther's day at Trulucks. We had a fantastic waiter Adam, who advised us with great expertise. All that he suggested were five star.
We of course began with Florida stone crabs, then all 3 of us choose different salads. My daughter the wedge, I the mixed greens with pecans, and my husband the Cesear, One was better than the next. I thin the WEDGE was the winner in the salad field.
Jen had the South African Lobstre tail, I the Sea Bass, and my husband the blacken fish Poncitraine.
What wouold dinner on mother's day be with out the OVER THE TOP CHOCOLATE cake. Coffee was frest was the perfect end to an outstanding meal.

Our waiter Adam recommended some excellent dishes and I am glad we followed his suggestions. We had a cozy table and there was a piano player with good music creating a festive atmosphere.
The sea bass was superb and a special desert was presented with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate. Truluck's called the following day to make sure we had a nice evening and we were pleased. WOW, this is a first! The least I could do was acknowledge the superb effort. We had been to the restaurant once a few years ago and it was excellent, so I figured I'd give it another shot. I made the reservation with ease through OpenTable. We got there earliy, but they took us right in. Our server, Alissa was awesome !! She was an absolute pleasure and made the evening enjoyable and fun. Dinner was excellent, the ribeye was cooked perfectly and my wife's Sea Bass was tasty and perfectly cooked. The dessert menu was CRAZY, the carrot cake was amazing and the chocolate bag (I believe that was the name) was incredible. Everything is just to tasty- quality and size of servings.....even wtih stone crab season almost at its end- it's quickly turning into our first choice for a good meal out- worth the prices, which I find fair for what you get. and absolutely the best crab cakes EVER!
Service has always been super, and even better is the pre-reservation call or reminder, and the after visit... i think that shows they care. It made it difficult to carry on a conversation with the friends in the bar area and we decided to move to our table for more comfort. Also, the kitchen did make a slight goof up on my friend's and my orders, but was quickly resolved by our waiter. Our waiter, David, was fantastic, offering excellent input on Truluck's extensive and impressive wine list. His recommendation was spot-on for the wine as well as the meal itself.
The presentation of the meal was beautiful and only to be outdone by the taste. I also appreciate Truluck's commitment to sustainable ingredients.

The manager came by and gave us her card so we could contact her later if we needed to. The food was delicious and I had possibly the best New York Strip steak in my life. The next day the restaurant called us to see how we liked it and even asked if my girlfriend had a nice birthday. We had the spicy and crunchy shrimp appetizer; fresh and crisp followed by the rainbow tower tartare, which if you like sashimi, you'll love this. The bread with walnuts (or pumpkin seeds) was warm and comforting. I had the spicy halibut, which was spicy even for me and I can tolerate most spicy heat; it was delicious, though. Hubby had seared sesame tuna, which is also a sashimi lover's delight. The sesame gives it a toasted, nutty flavor that complements the cool flesh. I had the Spain vs. Italy wine flight. What a deal: 4 glasses at the price of two, and you savor more. Key lime pie, my favorite dessert, was the tartest I've ever had, but still every bite mouthwatering. The food was fantastic and the service friendly and knowledgeable. We ordered the Ceasar Salad to start, the Miso Glazed Sea Bass and Pan Seared Grouper as our entrees and finished with carrot cake (that was large enough for 3 people) and "Chocolate Bag" desserts, needless to say we went home with dessert doggy bags!. Choclate Bag is a hollow dark chocolate shell in the shape of a 8-9" tall bag, filled with pieces of pound cake & cream, topped with more cream, & berries...almost too pretty to break into but absolutely delicious once you do!!!
