My daughter loves the chocolate box and nearly eats the whole thing herself. My son and I love the carrot cake (with spiced nuts on top - absolutely wonderful). We also had to take the chocolate cake home for my husband. All the desserts are very shareable - we ate finished them the next day. The coffee was also great - a French press done at the table and real sugar cubes. We were seated at the bar since we arrived early for our reservation and could be seated quickly at the bar. I have always loved the piano singer they have. He was fantastic! And our waitress was very attentive, friendly, and wonderful. My wife and I split an appetizer and two entrees and ended up with $150 bill (including tip) and that was drinking water only. We had calamari to start...and it was the best calamari we've ever had. I ordered the special, dynamite steak. It was a filet mignon with a spicy crab and lobster sauce. My wife had the rock crab platter. The crab was served chilled and pre-cracked, so it was fairly easy to eat although I personally prefer my crab fresh out of the boiling pot. They did give us a complimentary dessert and an anniversary card signed by the staff which was cool. The only thing that wasn't flat-out amazing were the mashed potatoes. Trulucks was recommended by a co-worker. Started in the bar with an appetizer of hot & crunchy shrimp - it was fabulous. The waiter in the bar was super helpful with the wine list & the appetizer. In the restaurant Steven was our waiter for the rest of the evening. He was professional but fun & offered great suggestions. Our food was so fresh & we enjoyed every bite. We ordered dessert & to our surprise, he brought not just what we ordered, but 2 additional desserts - one that said Happy Birthday & one that said Happy Anniversary. Overwhelming!! Servers are knowledgeable about the food and are able to offer great suggestions. They know when to be there for you, and they know when not to be. The food was excellent, both in the bar area and at dinner. The lobster bisque was very creamy but was not overwhelming in aftertaste, as some bisques can be. The Scottish Salmon Bernaise was nicely cooked, with a crisp outer coating of the salmon giving a nice counterpoint to the rich creaminess of the bernaise sauce.

The second time the food was a little off, but that was a number of years ago. We decided to have our next date-night at Trucklucks this past Friday and we were so glad we did. Every bite of food was exploding with flavor, our server was on top of eveything, and we had a cozy little booth this time. We had been there about one hour when we realized the place was packed- but we were in our own little world and didn't notice the place filling up around us. It was just perfect! Service was very good for our group and our server, Robin, was knowledgeable, engaging and efficient. Most of our group had not been to Trulock's before and they were uniformly pleased with out drink service and menu selection. Seven of us had fish which was well prepared and well presented. Our son had a steak with crab and he said it was prepared medium rare, as he had ordered. We completed our meal with a good port, another first for most of our guests. We received an outstanding service from the lady greeting us in the front(i did not get her name). She was friendly, helpful and has an appropriate manner. We were seated at the booth, which is to our prefference.
Our waiter for the day was Michael. He was great. We do not eat beef, pork or chicken except for seafood and veges. He patiently explain to us and suggested few items on the menu, and tell us how they prepared the food. Even our little on who is normally cranky at later of the day, had a good time in the restaurant.
The manager pays a good attention to the customers too.

It is pricey if you order the specialties (South African Lobster Tail), but worth every penny. Perfect place for celebrating a special occasion. I went back when a special occasion came up, and the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and taken care of! The energy inside is wonderful, and you could tell that other tables were having fun as well. Have done this for years. Noticed that the trend has been prices increasing every year - now at $69 - and at the same time the delivery of each subsequent set of claws seems to have slowed down. We very much enjoyed our experience. Waiter was good. It was crowded; however - - - it took us over 2.5 hours. This time was our 39th Wedding Anniversary. I am a seafood lover. My wife almost always tries one of the many off the menu offerings. Two shrimp the size of lobsters, in a special sauce and cheese grits. Their desserts are outstanding. Just a tip, plan on splitting the dessert, they are huge.
