From the moment you enter until you leave, there is a constant acknowledgment and what seems to be a genuine care. for your experience. Even when small mistakes were made, the attention and the correction was timely and impressive. Try the hanger steak or a trout and don't forget to browse through that "bible" of a book they call wine list. Nothing comes close in the city."

  • "This was always one of our favorites. Lately, the food has been extra edgy and exciting. We had an outstanding cured salmon with dollops of dill/lemon gelee that was served on a pink Himalayan salt block! Amazing! Pretty sure no one else in Saint Louis is doing this. I wish all the items were served like that, it was that good. The hanger steak was one of the best I've ever had and the Dover Sole my friend ordered was classic and exceptional, with the table carving/presentation and all. Some great things are happening here, can't wait to come back for more."

  • "Went to Truffles for our anniversary dinner and brought our 3 teenage kids along! There was something for everyone on the menu. Food was outstanding and service excellent. My husband even brought his own food ( he's on a special diet) and they heated it up for him and brought it out with the rest of ours. Very understanding and non judgemental. Would definitely return.   • "Wasn't busy because of the holiday weekend ... BUT everything was 100% amazing from the moment we walked in. Had a great table and the best waiter, Chris. His partner Demo was great as well. We shared the mushroom risotto w/truffle oil to start. Bliss!!!!! Soft shell crab season -- upon Chris's recommendation I gave this a try. Truly did not disappoint. Looking forward to my next visit to STL and I'll definitely be back to Truffles. "

Easily the best wine list I have ever seen in Missouri and better than some of the top restaurants in New York or Chicago, as well. Attentive staff, great bar atmosphere and yet somehow there is always a room even if late for making a reservation. The best kept secret in STL. From sheer selfish reasons, we hope it stays that way."

  • "The quality of the food and the preparation were outstanding. The others at our table commented on how tasty the food was. My husband had the Dover sole and said it was the best fish he's ever eaten. The wine is always a decent pour for the price (my favorite is the white burgundy). Casual, friendly ambiance in the bar with just the right upscale approach in the dining room. It is pricey but worth it. There were a few times when I felt that our waiter was MIA but just went it seemed he wasn't being attentive enough, he would show up. "

  • "Celebrated a 85th birthday here and had a wonderful experience. The Steak Tartar was excellent. Enjoyed the burger, duck and ravoli as well. Excellent wine list. Only reason we did not give the place 5 stars is due the price they charged for a very small tuna salad...26 bucks for a extremely small portion of both lettuce and tuna. Stick to the menu or you might get screwed."

  • "I had not dined at Truffles for years, but used to be a regular when it first opened. I remember eating the Dover Sole years ago and was excited to eat it once again, although it is expensive. The Dover Sole wasn't quite as good as I remembered, but it was still quite satisfying. I started with the Caesar Salad, which wasn't all that great. My other dining companions had the Almond Crusted Trout and the New Orleans BBQ shrimp, which I believe they both enjoyed. For dessert we had the Bananas Foster and it was divine. The dining room was a bit empty for 8pm on a Friday night, but the bar was certainly hopping. I'm sure I'll be back to Truffles at some point in the future."

  • "We had the hamburger--excellent --a mile high with the bun; the duck which was superb, raves only; the dinner salad was dressed just right with a tasty but light dressing; the trout with crab was fine, but swimming in too much butter for my taste. I found it so rich I could only eat a few bites. The bananas foster for dessert was wonderful, but had a bit too much brandy or whatever alcohol is added. The prices are quite high so it's basically a special occasion place. The waiter was wonderful."

  • "All of the food was excellent, but our favorite was the roasted duck. I was the best duck we ever had. It was tender with great crisped skin. The marrow bone appetizer was huge and expertly prepared. Our waiter was knowledgeable, attentive and brought the whole dining experience up a level. I am sure Truffles and the customers will miss him when he leaves for graduate school in the fall. This is definitely a restaurant we will be going back to."

  • "My husband and I were celebrating a special occasion. While the menu prices are much higher than what we would normally spend, we were very impressed with the food. The roasted bone marrow lived up to it's impeccable reputation, my husband loved the tuna tartare, and we both were very pleased with their specialty... Their in-house aged str steak. The wine list was very impressive, as was the knowledge of our server, Chris. A definite must for St. Louisians looking for fine dining, and a great place to impress visitors. (We also appreciated that the dress code is casual!)"

I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting to get out and have a nice romantic dinner or a nice grown-up dinner. I would not recommend taking children there. The food was good for the most part although there were a couple of items that were not the best I've ever had but good."

Our server was knowable and attentive. The Sommelier picked us a great bottle of wine that didn’t break the bank. We ordered the Dover Sole and Smoked Duck and both were amazing!   • "Really enjoyed the bar atmosphere prior to our meal. Dining room was perfectly lit with a nice jazz music playing in the background. Our meal was timely and delicious. Trout is amazing and the beef tartar is easily the best in Saint Louis. Our other favorites include a house salad and the risotto with usually available freshly shaved truffles. Super Tasty! This restaurant continues to impress and we are surprised that there is no line at the door, although some Friday and Saturday nights it is hard to get in. Can't wait to go back."

  • "we went friday night with friends. While the service was fine, two of the four dinners (dover sole and something else (see not even memorbale)) were lame and had little flavor. The salad was suppossed to have goat cheese on it but only had trace amounts smeared on the bottom of the plate- very odd. We told the waitress who gave the customary "we'll let them know" which means do nothing / whatever. Check was almost $400- at least $300 more than it was worth. Won't go back- very dissapointed."

  • "This restaurant continually manages to satisfy variety of tastes and ambiances. We had it all here, from quiet corner chef tasting dinners to laud and casual bar burger (the best in town by a wide margin) outings. I even had a private party in the back room and it was amazing. Pay attention to how much effort goes into making sure that the food is served all at once. No one does this in the entire city. It is theatrical, impressive and most importantly, effective. The quality of food is second to none. Try duck, any steak, chicken, scallops, bone marrow, trout...I could name the entire menu. Can't get enough of Truffles!"
