  • Truffles remains our favorite
    Sailidad
    Dined on 9/23/2008
Truffles remains our favorite restaurant outside of Boston and has been so since it opened. The quality and variety of the food, creativity of the menu, and the friendliness and professionalism of the service are un-matched in MetroWest. The Spanish Shrimp appetizer alone is enough to make one go there even without all of its other notable attributes. The ONLY downside is that the wine prices, while reasonable for the caliber of the wine list, make it difficult to go there as often as we would like.

We have been going to Truffles for years, we always greatly enjoy the food, as well as the good looking dining room and hospitable staff. For some reason, the restaurant is often underfilled; I'm at a loss to explain why. Prices are reasonble for a nice restaurant, and we've never had something that disappointed us.

  • We went for dinner on a Wednesday
    OpenTable Diner Since 2008
    Dined on 8/20/2008
We went for dinner on a Wednesday night and the place was empty. The main reason we made reservations was to take advantage of the "Restaurant Week" menu, however we both ended up ordering from the main menu. Salad and Filet was $4 more expensive than the Salad and Sirloin from the restaurant week menu. Food was good, not sure if I would take the trip back there again though...

The chocolate cake served was excellent. The meal presentation was very nice. The veal was very tasty and tender but the portion was smaller than expected. However, the steak was a good size portion and tasty as well. The waiter was very friendly and nice.

Great food with a great beer and wine list. The service was very slow. I am not sure if the waiter was being trained or not during his shift but he forgot what food went to which table and really never checked back.

  • What a surprise! Milford

What a surprise! Milford isn't exactly known for great restaurants, so I didn't expect a lot, but, the experience at Truffles was excellent. I had the yellowfin special, my wife had the duck. Both were great - excellent taste and presentation. Menu is small but very creative. For appetizers we had the oysters and the gazpacho which were both outstanding. Plenty of good wine choices also. Truffles is as good as a lot of restaurants in Boston. I can't believe its been there for 5 years and we just found it now. We will definitely be back.

Ordered the special Yellow Fin Tuna dish. It was undercooked and served luke warm. Didnt want to complain since it was a special occasion. Probably will not go there again. It is overpriced for what it is. Oh, well.

App Pizzettas were very tasty. Chilean Sea Bass dish was EXCELLENT. Wine suggestions by Nicole the server were very good. Creme Brulee was delicious. This has a nice intimate setting - good for couples or small business groups. Have eaten here once before. Was also very good then. We will come back !

  • We had gone for Mother's Day
    FoodfinderVIP
    Dined on 5/11/2008
We had gone for Mother's Day Brunch. We found the menu for that day very limited. We were hungry, but the choices were pretty slim and nothing to order on the side to fill you up. We asked for a regular menu for apps, but the server said that was not available at this time. The was no bread basket, no muffins or crackers for the table so we waited for the meal. I ordered the stuffed french toast w/ mascapone cheese and fruit. It was the soggiest mess I have ever eaten. Fast food places could do better. My husband and one child ordered a hamburger as the menu had no waffles, eggs to order, or sides to round out the plate. We didn't feel this place looked like they could do fish well or if it were fresh, so we stayed away from those.

The food was bland. We told the manager who did not seem to care. The waitress was not friendly. The lobster crepe appetizer was very small and did not contain much lobster. It was priced at $14 and was a disappointment. The haddock was dried out. The braised short ribs were decent. Decided to go to Friendly's for ice cream instead of eating dessert at this restaurant.
