It's small in area and has a charming bistro atmosphere. Though it was Sunday evening dinner (6:30 pm) only 3 tables were occupied. I had the prix-fixe $19.95 dinner - mesclun salad and beef bourguignon. The salad was tasty and just the right size. The beef bourguignon was good with string beans and mashed potatoes, but the sauce was too dense. The glass of wine was fairly priced. My friend had one of the fish entrees (I forget which) and was quite satisfied as she asked for a special preparation to her diet. The dessert menu looked quite tempting, but I just didn't want to stuff myself. I was satiated with my pot of green tea.

didnt seem like anyone had read our request when we booked on opentable to have a high chair for our son
entrees were disappointing, beef bourguignon was extremely salty and tasted like they used a lot of store bought sauces to make
chocolate souffle was so so, not enough chocolate nor sweet enough in my opinion
place is cramped depending on table you get

Dining at Trois Canards after ballet at the Joyce was the perfect closure for an exciting evening. The place is intimate and friendly. The service elegant in a casual atmosphere. The style European. The food was delicate and the wine choices beyond adequate. I would recomend it to anyone interested in good food. Ah, and the price very reasonable.

The food appeared to be cooked to order as it came out hot. My fish wasn't extremely flavorful, but it wasn't fishy either. I am concerned that there may have been meat stock (not only do I not eat meat, but with fish??) in the mushroom sauce. The mashed potatoes were perfect.

We were concerned when we saw the reviews that said that Trois Canards does not honor reservations, but we decided to try it anyway. We arrived and were seated immediately ...and it was a Saturday night. Not sure if that was luck or a new policy. In any case, we really enjoyed it. Our bill ended up being more expensive than we expected, but we would go back. It is a very cozy atmosphere and a great, traditional French Bistro menu.

Read some other reviews in advance, and noted that some had issues when trying to book through Open Table. So I called the restaurant directly to confirm, and was glad I did... they'd never received the reservation I'd made online! Someone definitely needs to work out the kinks with this. Otherwise, it was a wonderful evening. We were seated on time, the food was well-prepared, the wine was excellent, and the waitstaff was friendly and courteous without being overbearing. The salmon with mashed potatoes was superb, and the tarte au pommes with cinnamon ice cream was a delightful way to finish the meal. Will definitely return!
