  • "The vineyard setting is scenic, the ambience is beautiful, the food is amazing and the staff was helpful and friendly. We had been looking forward to a specific dessert, but the menu had changed the day before. Our waitress checked with the kitchen, and there were two left of the dessert we wanted, and they would hold them for us. Some of the best chocolate pots de creme! Of course, it's off the menu for now, but staff trying very hard to make the experience great."

  • "It was a lovely dinner and the food was excellent...but there were 2 things that were a little annoying... 1) We reserved a table outside about a month ago through your service, and we were given a lousy table in back corner... 2) We ordered red meat dishes as our main course...and were not given steak knives...making it a little more difficult to cut our meat. When we asked about knives...we were told that the chef does not allow steak knives because the meat should be tender enough to cut with a regular knife...it was not. So we had to work at it. It was not tough, but it was annoying. That being said, Chris, our waiter was very nice and very helpful..."

  • "We had a very nice 5 course dinner with 3 little extra courses in between and very good wine pairing. Service was excellent and the supervisor on-site was very friendly and made sure that everything was to our liking. Great place for a romantic evening. We dined inside for comfort but had a great view on the vineyards and sunset. We went on a Monday night so it was quiet and service was very quick."

  • "I had made a dinner reservation to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday on a Sunday night. We first went to the Wine Shop to had some Ice Wine Tasting, the person who served us was very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. Afterwards we had went for dinner, our server Brad was extremely accommodating and friendly. He acknowledged the fact that it was her birthday and made the dinner extra special with some very nice touches to our tasting menu. The view from the outdoor patio was phenomenal as you look out into the vineyards. Simply incredible. Will definitely come back again."

  • "With so much competition in Niagara area in terms of wineries, lot of them are upping the ante with additional services: boutique shops, restaurants, specialty tastings. In terms of the restaurant offerings, Trius aims for higher end and it is fairly good, albeit somewhat expensive for what it delivers. The food is tasty and polished, but not special in terms of inspiration. The menu is thin in terms of main course offerings, they are clearly geared to 5-course prix-fix. That approach back-fires when people are not hungry for all 5 courses - I did not find one main course intriguing enough to order, sticking to tiny appetiser. Service was good, atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed without being loose and the patio is the amazing."

  • "I work in the industry, and have to say that our experience here exceeded expectations. The food was absolutely incredible - the staff do a great job explaining each dish individually, and everything tasted amazing. They specifically recommend a win that pairs perfectly with the dish you ordered, and works with your personal preferences. We were greeted with a glass of their delicious Brut, which was perfect to sip on with our appetizer course. You can't beat the view of the vineyard either. 10 out of 10 forsure!"

  • "My party of four dined at 7:30pm on a summer Saturday. Among us were foodies who have dined around the world. Trius that night was one of the best dining experiences we have had. The ingredients and flavors are excellent, the presentation is striking, and the meals are creatively done. We look forward to returning."

  • "There was a wild table of young kids from a large party made a "romantic" evening on patio of a pricey place a little disappointing. When kids are running through the view you are paying for falling, and crying, it is kind of a bummer. The service was just minimal, server hard to locate, and different "food runners" seemed to take over after beverages were served. Food very good, though expensive. Of course, you are paying for the view, which is gorgeous. Servers looked happy that table of unruly kids left...it is a shame when parents can't teach kids under ten how to act if they are taking them to a nice place."

The waiter was proficient and educationally enlightening, helping us understand the culinary nuances of cooking capon vs. chicken. And, it was a perfectly cooked delight.   • "I went for lunch with a friend to celebrate her birthday and we weren't disappointed at all. Although we couldn't have any alcohol (I was driving, she was on medication), the service and food was amazing. She had the Ontario Lamb Sirloin for entree and the Trius Vanilla Cheese Cake for dessert, while I had the Maple Brined Perth County Pork Chop and Chocolate Pot au Creme. Our waiter, Anthony, was very charming and graciously brought me a new dish when I realized that it was raw. I would definitely recommend Trius Winery Restaurant for an upscale dining experience."

  • "we stopped in for a late, lighter supper so we selected the cheese board and the meat board. The 5 cheese selections were very nice and represented a broad selection from sheep to goat to aged. The meat board was varied but I have to say, pretty skinny on the quantity. We found ourselves sharing a nibble to a thin sliver of cured meat trying to grasp the flavor of the presentation. Wines as always were excellent."

  • "Understand that I came in with VERY high expectations. The first time I went to this restaurant was almost 10 years ago and it was, at the time, and in my memory, the best meal I'd had in my life! I loved it so much that I bought the chef's cookbook (which I've used several times to great success) All I can remember is how spot on the pairings were and how ridiculously delicious the food was! I've returned twice since and it just hasn't met up with my expectations. The service is exceptional and the food was quite good, but the pairings were ok, not fantastic, and the food was just not as creative as it used to be. Everything was still delicious, I'm just stuck with that memory of my first experience that can never be recreated!"

The salmon and crab rillette was excellent, then followed by the perfectly cooked Manatoulin Island Trout Filet. All served absolutely correctly and a lovely presentation!   • "Last week I had lunch at Trius with 3 friends from different corners of the United States. We all agreed that the patio is about as close to heaven as one can get on a pleasant summer day! The starters were absolutely delicious, and the presentation of each dish was a work of art. We especially loved the tomato and sweet pepper soup, but the Atlantic Scallop was divine, and every dish was fresh and flavorful. We shared the Fresh Strawberries and Chocolate pot for dessert. Our only criticism about the food is that the portions could be a tiny bit larger. Our server, Kate, was knowledgable, attentive, and had a bubbly personality. This was my first visit to Trius, but definitely won't be my last!"

  • "Excellent restaurant! Service sas impeccable. They accepted our party of 4 25 mins after our reservation without delay. Waitress was very helpful, and when it got chilly on the patio,over us indoors to finish the meal. We stayed well past the closing time. Not only did they not rush us, but we were offered us a free snack AFTER our dessert course. The food is remarkable. We ordered almost Everything on the menu. Each dish was imaculately presented. And the flavours just explode in your mouth. Fantastic dinner. Recommend recommend recommend 4 of us ate, with 6 apps, 4 mains, 2 desserts, 1 bottle of white wine (+ 1 extra glass of red). Each person paid $75+tip"

  • "The food at Trius was excellent, the room lovely but the place is just missing something like personality. This stems from management down. Staff all seemed a little tired and lacked enthusiasm. They have such an opportunity to create a real sizzle and it just fell short. Even with great food, we would have a tough time returning unless we go with a large group of friends to provide our own fun."

Two comments about our recent experience: 1. music upon arrival was loud, distracting for conversation 2. country music, which has its place and which I enjoy at times, but which I do not think is appropriate for a fine dining establishment 3. your present menu, in terms of layout and choices, is less comprehensible and less coherent than in the past. However, the food itself and the presentation were superb. The staff were very helpful in obtaining the desired wine, a Ghost Creek Riesling."

  • "We have been here many times, and we have never failed to be delighted by this restaurant. We visited for lunch to celebrate my husband's birthday, and we sat out on their patio overlooking their vineyards. Beautiful setting, matched by our lovely waitress, Katie, who provided top-notch service. The lunch menu is small, but diverse. My husband had a buttermilk fried chicken panini and their delectable fries, and I ordered salmon atop ricotta and asparagus pasta. My salmon was absolutely perfectly prepared, a little crisped skin and moist pink inside. We ended with a cheese plate and some of their ice wine. A perfect afternoon!"
