We also cater any special events, large and small. We can do catering outside San Francisco throughout the Bay Area for an additional delivery charge. Triptych Restaurant is available for private events or parties of 30-60 people as a "buy-out".

Triptych's South of Market location embraces the industrial with the arts culture of the neighborhood. The cuisine reflects the diverse palates of its patrons and is complimented by a unique wine list from around the world. Local artists' works are displayed.   • "I took my food loving daughter here after a Saturday matinee for an early dinner. We devoured the crab cake bites, The ahi tuna was just right for me, while my daughter was craving a burger so we were both happy. My daughter is a flan connoisseur and gave theirs a thumbs up, and an empty plate while I indulged in the beignets with salted caramel ice cream...delicious! The service was very friendly and accommodating. I also enjoyed the small but well chosen wine list. Very glad I chose this place and we will be back."

  • "We had one of the most delightful brunch experiences of our lives at Triptych. Two friends and I get together regularly and brunch at various restaurants - this time Triptych (and probably quite a few more times now). The lunch was exquisite - I had the best omelette that I've ever had in my life; my one friend had an excellent salad that she loved; and my other friend had an excellent burger that he thought was tops! The service was excellent. The host and staff were welcoming, very gracious, and very personable. I think this may be our favorite from now on!"

  • "Triptych seems confused about what kind of restaurant it is/wants to be. The dining room is one part restaurant, one part art gallery. Maybe this is why we were one of only 2 parties in the restaurant at 7:30 on a Saturday night. Pro: The food was really pretty darn good. And there is a GREAT backyard/patio area that would be perfect for brunch on a sunny day. Con: The pseudo-gallery vibe isn't adding to the experience."

  • "The food was super good and you definitely get your moneys worth with the bottomless mimosas. However, the service was very slow and mediocre. The waitress was kind of rude half of the time and we had to wait 30 minutes before anyone came to take our food orders. We were there an hour before we got anything to eat and then the owner had the nerve to try and rush us out the door! It was quite unfortunate considering I loved the ambience of the place and, like I said, the food was quite yummy."

  • "We stopped in later on a Sunday afternoon simply to check out a restaurant we hadn't yet visited. Man are we glad we did. I was with two of my pals who both know food and wine up the wazoo, so impressing them isn't easy. Instead of just brushing us off as one of the last Sunday brunch tables, Nolan greeted us at the door and proceeded to take care of us as if we were the King (and Queens ;-) of Spain. We weren't rushed, we were seated graciously outside, then offered beer and wine tastings and got plenty of attention even as the remainder or the restaurant was emptying out and readying itself for the dinner crowd coming in a few hours later. The food wowed us from the bacon beignets to the chicken apple sausage omelette. Great place!"

  • "I've been in a hotel for about a month, I think about gong to other Resturants but I always come here. Most of the menu can be gluten free and I have a different meal everyday. The waiters are fantastic. My favorite is the Pork Osso Bucco and Paella. I love the the creamy polenta, ummmmm!"

  • "I took my wife here on Valentines night and it was evident from the moment we arrived that the service was overwhelmed. The table beside us had their entrees served before their starter and several other tables had obvious order mixups. You could tell by the disappointed look on customers faces. Our food arrived fairly rapidly and was excellent. After finishing our entree however, we waited over 20 minutes, unable to get anyone's attention to order dessert or coffee. There were 3 couples standing at the door waiting to be seated. I eventually went to the bar and stood for 5 minutes waiting for a staff member to acknowledge me so I could get the bill. The food was good, service completely messed up."

  • "I used to go to Triptych for brunch all the time when a friend lived over there (always amazing, I never managed to leave hungry or sober), so recently when I needed to find somewhere in the neighborhood for a friends birthday dinner I thought I'd give it a go. It was the best decision I could have made. Not only did they treat us all like royalty, but they welcomed all of our special requests. There were 8 of us and we were not an easy table but they handled it with enthusiasm and personality. Plus the food was amazing. It was a complete success and my friend's could not have been happier. Thanks Triptych for doing all the work an making me look like so good! I will definitely continue to go back to Triptych for both brunch and dinner!"

  • "we had a really friendly waiter who offered us some wine tastings before the meal. the food was great for the price, the mashed potatoes were heavenly and the bok choy was done really well. the atmosphere is great for groups - they're not too busy on weekend nights for some reason, so you can hear each other and stuff. oh and if you check in on yelp, you get a free glass of bubbly! I also love all the art on the walls."

  • "I've been wanting to go to Triptych for a while and was excited about the menu. The staff was very attentive, patient with our questions and indecisiveness and I couldn't wait to get our food. It wasn't bad, but very underwhelming and frankly bland. My pork was advertised with an apricot/jalepeno sauce which I couldn't taste at all, the texture of the polenta was fantastic, but lacking flavor and the squash didn't seem to be seasoned at all. I'd probably give it another try, but would go for more of a sure thing like a burger."

  • "My husband and I were in town for one night to celebrate new year's eve in San Francisco. We had such a great experience at Triptych! Our waiter was great, very helpful and so damn funny. And the food was — oh man! — so delicious! We had a orange mimosa and beet mimosa — I highly recommend the later. And for main, I had the quinoa and tofu; I cannot even begin to describe how good this meal was! My husband had the omelet with chicken-apple sauces, and still raves about it."

  • "I went to dinner here on NYE and the food was absolutely delicious, but the wait for my food was way too incredibly long. My meal took well over 35 minutes to be delivered to the table after we ordered. Neither of us had anything that would take that long to prepare. Once the food did arrive though, it was absolutely delicious."

We planned our meal around dessert and then found that our two items of choice on the online menu (sticky toffee pudding and chocolate lava cake) were not being served that night. This is in a very urban setting, not sure that it is unsafe but it sure looks unsafe. Good enough to try but not sure if I'll go back."

  • "We went here because it was close to the Orpheum theatre and it was the only place I could get a last minute reservation at 6:30 on a Wed. The ravioli starter was nothing special--well the fried artichoke heart was delicious, but only 1 tiny bite. The sweet potato fries were sadly soggy. Veggie burger was good, ask for the HotLime sauce along with your ketchup. Would have gotten dessert, but the service was quite slow even though the restaurant was only half full. I asked for the check because it was already getting late and was glad I did because it took them about 15 minutes to get it back to me. Overall: OK, ambiance was nice, food was ok, pricey for how unexceptional it was, good location. Would try somewhere else next time."

  • "We were a party of 5 people , and we ordered 4 entrees , 2 appetizers and 2 desserts , it came to averge 25 dollars per person, the portion sizes we a bit small for the exotic ravioli , but the taste was excellent.. we also had the butternut squash ravioli and that was great too. The only dish that I thought was average was the Tangine. As vegetarians we thought that the place may not have enough choice, but there was enough to choose from. And was great tasting. If there are vegetarians who do not eat mushroom then there is very little choice. The dessert (pudding ) and molten chocolate cake were excellent. Best dessert ever. Totally loved it. Overall it was very good. Shalini."
