  • "We dined here on a Friday. They have a great outside patio. Service was outstanding. Waitstaff was friendly and accommodating. Nice variety on the menu made it tough to choose. Went with the flat-iron steak and my wide had the filet mignon. Both excellent. Only drawback was desert portion was a bit small."

  • "I usually love Trio but this time I ordered Sole Francese which 2 others in my party also ordered and which I've really liked in the past and it was awful.Both of the others who ordered it felt the same. Whoever cooked it just didn't understand how to make it and it tasted like Fish fried in egg (and fish was overcooked). The restaurant wasn't all that busy so don't know why this dish was so poorly done."

  • "I dined at Trio Rhode Island on July 5th and was looking forward to having the Oysters Rockefeller described in the menu as including anisette along with the other ingredients. When the oysters arrived, there was no taste of the anisette so I told the waiter. He said he would speak with the chef and several minutes later came back to explain that the anisette was applied before the oysters were cooked, implying that was the reason I couldn't taste the anisette. No apology was forthcoming and I really did not appreciate his condescending attitude. My entree was a run-of-the mill bolognese with very little flavor and the waitstaff was inattentive and sloppy. Needless to say, I will not dine at Trio Rhode Island again!"

  • "The good: The lobster tortellini was unbelievable. The shrimp cocktail excellent. All other items were solid choices. The not so good: Our waitress, while very pleasant, did not do a good job managing our table. She would clear the table only partially, and didn't wipe off before dessert. Service was slowish, which is fine, but when you are there, finish the job."

  • "I called a few hours before arriving and was told they could not accommodate my party of 8, so I made two reservations, each for a party of four. We were ready to split up if necessary, but when we arrived they sat us all together. Interestingly enough, there were five 8-tops around us that were empty the entire time we were there. Makes you wonder . . . Food was good, service was great. Good night overall but a bewildering experience with the reservation process."

  • "The experience was positive and I would recommend this restaurant. Food was very good and the atmosphere special. I found the prices fair and the service good. I was disappointed in the dessert as it was only ordinary and since it is the last part of the visit you leave with that thought in mind. Now that I'm thinking about it, the calamari was excellent. The dessert was some kind pudding, the first item on the menu."

We were given a high top table in the bar - very uncomfortable and very high noise level. I understand it was crowded with the last "special" Wed, but expected better seating. We wend across the street to Basil' - had a lovely meal there. Very disappointed as I was looking forward to dinner at Trio's."

  • "Two of us dined at Trio on a Friday night and we both enjoyed our meals. We were seated right at our reservation time. We were able to find a nice wine from their list. All price ranges are accommodated on the wine list. I had Sole Francaise, which was nice and eggy, but the sauce on top didn't have much flavor. Green beans on the side were cooked perfectly and were tasty. The jasmine rice was nothing special. My husband had a flank steak special and it came out rare, just as he had ordered. It had a nice crust on the outside and had been seasoned well. Service (Tyler) was professional, friendly, and attentive without any "hovering." We'll go back, although parking may be tricky when the summer season is in full swing!"

  • "We had a great dining experience at Trio beginning with before dinner drinks served by an excellent waitress, Loreli. She was congenial, friendly and prompt. We were seated and the food was delicious. My grilled scallops were tender and tasty. Our waitress Stephanie could not have been more accomodating. She was pleasant and did not make us feel rushed. All in all a very enjoyable dining experience. I will definatly go back."

One diner was done but two others were not ever half done and they wanted to clear the table. They kept coming back which was annoying. "

  • "So, it is at Narragansett. Order seafood. That's what they are good at. They are out of swordfish stakes on a Sunday? Yeah, it's their management fault. However if you serve a burned flamignon to the customer who paid $29 for it, he woul get upset. mixing it with heavy sauce would not cover the burnt meat taste in the mouth! Server was smiley and took it off the check. But think about it: people come to your restaurant for good food! Fix it! Also, very poor desert menu. I'd consider giving them one more chance -maybe- in the future... But first, I have to forget the burnt meat taste in my mouth"

  • "lobster salad roll was delicious, but for what you spend for it, they were a bit skimpy on the portion of lobster they put in the roll. Chicken Marsala came out w/ an excessive amount of pepper...2nd one came out better, but the mashed potatoes still had pepper in them. Fortunately, they did take this entree off our bill. Fried calamari, Cobb & Caesar salads, pasta bolognese & marguerita pizza were very good! "

  • "This was our first visit. We ewe given a warm welcome, ore waitress was friendly and attentive. The menu choice was extensive. We were given just the right amount of time to order and we did not have to wait too long for our meal. I chose the fish & chips. The batter was light and crispy and the fish tender and very fresh. This was the best fish & chips I have ever had. The rest of my family also loved their meals. My husband had chosen simply grilled fish with rice, & my teenage sons had ordered the Kingston Burger which was very tasty. The atmosphere was great with a lively upbeat bar dining area, another area with tables and a smaller area with high tops. You must dine here if you appreciate good food."

  • "Super friendly staff accommodated my picky water kids, attentive with beverage refills, menu suggestions, etc. Kid's meals were an excellent value and good "real" food, no processed chicken nuggets, here! I thoroughly enjoyed pork chop meal, and the desserts were to die for. Not my first trip to Trio, and it is quickly becoming a favorite stop when I am in town to visit my daughter at URI. Even a better treat when the weather allows for outdoor dining along the bay. Highly recommend!"

  • "I'm disappointed that the chef dropped the chipono dish. I know it is spelled wrong but I think you know what I mean. I loved that dish and was sad I couldn't have it for my birthday. Other than that I enjoyed my visit and will come back again!!"
