  • "What a lovely experience! The outdoor patio was just perfect, even with the threat of rain. People had their dogs by their tables and kids could run off energy in the grass while adults enjoyed a beautiful meal. Very interesting and diverse choices for Sunday brunch. Our waiter quickly brought mimosas and explained the highlights of what awaited us inside on the buffet line. But it was not your usual buffet line. Very helpful station assistance, beautiful display and signs to tell us what treats awaited. Everything was fresh and creative. Truly a Sunday treat! And Happy Hour on the back lawn any evening is terrific watching the river go by, people enjoying the walking trail and lovely wine and food."

  • "Sitting outside Trio is bliss. Listening to the birds and enjoying these beautiful spring evenings in Austin is what Trio delivers. The food is outstanding along with the impecable service. My only complaint is our parking tickets were validated by our server, but when we checked out the valet charged us $8.00--really?"

  • "One of the best anywhere! !!! Great place to entertain or to just have a great dining experience."

  • "Trio has a beautiful patio overlooking a grass area and trees that bank the lake (contrary to their website it does not have a view of the lake - the lounge upstairs is better for that). The food is fine, but the menu is an odd combination of gourmet and Texas casual- the prices are on the high side. This makes it an awkward choice, given competition in Austin, you can find many better options for either nearby. The wait staff was friendly and competent. The front staff, on the other hand, were unorganized and rude which is really not the norm in Austin. Perhaps they were trying to import an edgy NY vibe. All in all it is perfectly ok restaurant, a let-down for such a beautiful location in a landmark hotel."

  • "I chose Trio for a business lunch with five out-of-towners in for a convention. Perfect location for conventioneers. The service was relaxed, friendly and attentive. Four Seasons sparkle and snap from all. Orders were flawless and came out quickly. I loved the ice tea service. The ices cubes were made from tea and sugar syrup was supplied. A pleasing touch. Prices were not outrageous for lunch. Menu had a nice range of appealing options. I enjoyed a great burger and fries--humble dishes, but expertly realized. You'd be comfortable dressed any way you wish--typical Austin dishabille to ladies-who-lunch chic. The patio delivers the best al fresco dining in the city when weather permits."

  • "Main course was excellent. Side dishes were mediocre. A very good meal, but not worth the price! Crispy brussel sprouts were too crispy. Mac and cheese very mediocre. Oyster appetizers were excellent but very expensive."

  • "The Service was the worst we have ever had at a Four Seasons. We SAID we were unhappy with the service and it did not get any better. We did not get water for the first 20 minutes.. The food was very good."

  • "This restaurant was my go to always fantastic place to wine and dine folks. Have to say, my expectations were too high during my last 2 visits and it is not as it once was. Although service is still quality and the view/ambiance-wonderful...the food is only "just as" good as any other steakhouse with a few exceptions. DO NOT order the Akaushi steak - it was unbelievably grisled, fatty and had an odd flavor -- I should have been "WOW'd by this cut and was not. No one at our table liked it. The overall menu no longer offers anything unusual or inventive and so the food leaves you less than excited. We all left with the feeling that the usual Four Seasons restaurant standards were not nearly met."

  • "Trio for brunch is always a great choice. Our family goes about 3 times a year. Last Sunday was very special. Food choices were abundant and excellent. One of the most enjoyable brunch experiences in recent memory. Will be back for sure."

  • "As always, first rate food, interestingly prepared and presented. It is priced accordingly. If you have a time constraint, mention it to the server when you arrive."

  • "I had researched places to eat that allowed you to see the bats in flight from Congress bridge, did not disappoint. Having children able to burn energy on the beautiful hotel grounds was priceless, the view of the bridge is not visible, so need to walk the paths to get a better view. Which is extremely easy, our waiter was amazing. If you decide to do dinner with bats get there early if not staying at hotel make reservation for patio. Valet give to waiter to validate reduce the price from 16 to 8 dollars. If you choose to experience sixth street, leave car ask for a pedi-taxi come pick you up its a short distance you could walk even. This eliminates you struggling and wasting time looking for parking along sixth street, FYI."

  • "I have been several times to Trio and food and service have always been outstanding. However, in my last visit I ordered the akaushi strip and it turned out to be one of the worst meals that I have in a long time. Besides, I ordered medium and it was well done and dry which already spoils any good piece of beef. I will probably return to Trio in a few months but I will definitely not order the akaushi."

  • "We had read the reviews on the restaurant and they all looked great. I think that after just coming off the SXSW scene for a couple of weeks that the staff were worn down from the crowds. Anyhow, our food was way too salty, steak I ordered was more to the well done side than medium. My wife ordered antelope and it was tough and chewy and a bit undercooked after ordering rare per the server. This was more of a quick sear. The dessert of molten chocolate was overcooked which left the dessert more like a warm cake without any "lava"..."

  • "We took the Trio up on its offer of dinner in advance of a performance at Bass Hall. It included a 3-course prix fixe meal, free valet parking and parking at the Bass. The meal was quite good Two choices for each course. We chose caesar salad, sea bass with asparagus and mac cheese, and cheesecake. The excitement was that the South by Southwest film and music festival was in its first days, and Robert Duvall, Gene Simmons and no doubt other recognizable names were dining at the Trio along with us. So the experience was a bit more noisy and star-studded than we had expected, but it was a great meal and a heck of a lot of fun. Despite the possible distractions to the staff, all were focused on our need to get to the show on time."

  • "I had a reservation and when I got there I still had to wait 15-20 minutes. I noticed the host offered other people glasses of mimosas and never offered us one. After ten minutes of waiting, and I'm assuming my face gestures must have given him a clue that he hadn't offered us anything to drink, he finally offered us mimosas. However we never received them, and when he realized his excuse was our table was just about ready. I also saw another group come in after us and they had a reservation, like us, however they were offered an option to wait or they could immediately be seated in another area. We were never offered that option. I've dined at Trio over 25 times and never have I experienced such poor service. Shame on them!"

  • "You might question paying $54 for brunch, but you'd be making a big mistake. The bottomless mimosas are the bomb made fresh right at your table which I've never experienced before and it made a big impression on us. The service was phenomenal as my drink glass, water glass, nor my coffee were ever empty the entire 2 hours we were there. The brunch selection of pastries and other carbs complimented the savory selections if rib eye, sushi, and seafood well. Even the chicken and waffles was better than I'd had before. Well worth the money. We'll definitively be back."

  • "Menu is mostly red meat, but we wanted fish. It was outstanding. Next time, I think we'd try the big ribeye, though. Ribeye tartare was outstanding, I'd remove the fried egg, it seemed to detract. Redfish and Snapper were perfect. Molten chocolate cake also a home run. The service was the star. Impeccable. Only complaint - a Tangurey martini was $15, which is crazy. That's a $10 drink."

  • "It was a set menu offered, $52.00 per person, with either soup and a delicious Caesar Salad, 3 main entrees, one was a good ribeye cap that one party had, I had the good striped bass, all dinners included 2 sides a very cheesy macaroni and very good grill asparagus, also included 2 desserts choices. One party had the very good but small portion pistacho cheese, I had the good but small portion white chocolate mousse came on top of a small round cookie and small portions of cut-up strawberries. I paired my dinner with the house chardonnay, the other party just had water."

  • "First time having Sunday brunch at Trio! Wow what an awesome experience. Food was top notch! Service was spectacular! And the location could not be better."

  • "Trio is one of our favorite places in Austin. The menu, while not extensive, offers dishes that adapt seasonally so you can go often without seeing exactly the same thing every time. The wine list is really innovative. It contains a number of gem six from around the world you don't usually see in restaurants. The service is friendly, attentive, and professional. The outdoor seating area is a great option for families with young kids."

  • "Trio's is dependable; however this time around, we had to wait 10 minutes for our table even though we had a reservation. There were a lot of empty tables so I was wondering why we had to wait."

  • "Had lunch at Trio after they reopened. They were closed for 2 weeks to update the restruant which I thought was already great and made it even better. Loved the new look and feel. As usual the food was incredible. Seafood Gumbo is better than I have had in New Orleans. The view and patio is the best in Austin. Always a favorite"

  • "The fact that some of our group of 12 were not staying for dinner may have confused the wait staff, who delayed taking our food orders for about 20 minutes. For some reason, service of entrees took quite a while after appetizers and delicious bread (great popovers!). If not for that, the cheerful, attentive service would have earned five stars. Food was delicious on all fronts: wonderful snapper ceviche, rosemary oven fries, perfectly shucked and fresh raw oysters, roasted brussel sprouts that were delicious even for those who dislike brussel sprouts, perfectly cooked grouper, snapper and steaks. Everyone who ordered wine raved about their choices. Most of our group had never been to Trio before, but everyone really enjoyed it."

  • "The recently remodeled Trio was a visual delight, great work there down to some really amazing flower arrangements. Unfortunately all other aspects of my experience were unsatisfactory. Drinks took forever to get out, one person ordered a soda water that took 10 minutes Steak was not cooked to even remotely correct temperatures, out of two "medium rare" steaks we got one "medium" and one "medium well" Food service in general was extremely slow, kitchen seemed behind. In general the whole experience was completely unworthy of the prices they are charging. Serving a $50 steak two whole temperatures off? Attention to detail here was completely lacking and inexcusable given the prices."

  • "For a decade the Sunday Brunch at the Four Seasons has been one of our favorite dinning experiences in Austin. A family ritual every 4 to 6 months. For the first time ever we were slightly disappointed. The new serving format is certainly not commensurate with the ambiance of the experience or Four Seasons expectations. Rather than multiple serving stations the long serving line is like a cafeteria. Food items are grouped closely together and the guests are compacted into a very small area to make their choices. The overall meal was excellent. However, we hope management will reconsider the new serving arrangements and return to a variation of the previous serving format that was so elegant, attractive and user friendly."

  • "The service was top notch and the food was indulgent! I went there for their Sunday brunch buffet and I loved it. Be like me and keep your diet at home for a few hours will ya, and then pick it back up the next day ;). It's certain;y pricey but worth a try for the occasional splurge."

  • "The newly redecorated Trio was a treat! Great service, not intrusive. Great food, not a single false note. The crispy 'Brussels sprouts were terrific! The rack of lamb, tender and delicious. The filet also perfect. For a special occasion, or just a special treat, go to Trio!"

  • "My family recently visited TRIO, and it was a great night. We started with the fried oysters. My husband is a connoisseur of the fried oyster, and he declared that this was the best fried oyster he had ever had. The rest of the meal followed this opening. The service was typical Four Seasons excellence."

  • "The view was amazing and the food was great, but we found ourselves waiting frequently for the waiter to return. For this price range we are used to always having the water filled and any needs quickly addressed. Overall, it was a good experience."
