The waiter was courteous and very on the ball, the wine list was quite impressivve, and the food was wonderful. The waiter had a great knowledge of all the specials, and he was friendly and accomodating. Our evening was perfect, complete with a Birthday Flourless Chocolate Cake for the Birthday Girl. We selected TRIO through Open Table as we were visiting Cincy for a night and wanted a good meal.
It was outstanding - we started with the Shrimp Bruschetta, which was warm on thick bread, very flavorful, topped with a balsamic drizzle. I had the seafood pasta, which was exactly what my idea of seafood pasta should be. An even-sized portion of fettucine topped with two giant scallops, a large portion of fresh crab laid right on top and three large shrimp. It was outstanding and as fresh a seafood pasta as I've ever had and I eat it everywhere I go! Wife at the Sea Bass and said it was nearly the best she's ever had. I enjoy getting the chance to have lunch or dinner at Trios because I know I will get excellent food and service. This weekend was no different, my friend and I had a very satisfying dinner topped off with a banana cream tart that was a terrific way to end the evening. I brought part of it home and put it on the counter and by the time I put my purse down, my son had eaten it and said, "what is this great dessert?" My boyfriend had the Traditional Pizza, and he loved it. We had a reservation and were sat immediately when we walked in. Staff was friendly and efficient.

My wife had the salmon and I had the sea bass - two of our favorite entrees that did not disappoint. I wanted to impress her so I made reservations at Trio's. she had never been there before even though she lived within 4 miles of the restaurant. The atmosphere was romantic as there was other couples sitting all around us. I could tell she really enjoyed everything as the food and service was second to none. After dinner, I walked her to her car, she gave me a huge hug and a kiss on the cheek. Yep.... She brought side dishes before our meals, as we requested. She overheard us saying the white bean soup tasted a bit "off", & offered to replace it with chicken noodle soup. The chicken noodle soup was fine. We all ordered salads - salmon, steak & nicoise - and all were delicious. We were seated in an open area of the restaurant, with the windows open.
It was a nice, quiet atmosphere, with a lot of light streaming in......kind of like eating al fresco, but still indoors. The brunch was very tasty; the made to order omelet was delicious. Easy-listening classical music meant that we could actually carry on a conversation without being assaulted by loud, big beat music & the loud voices that usually go with it; there are no distracting televisions. The mood was nice without being stuffy. We were somewhat apologetic for lingering so long over conversation. Our server encouraged us to stay as long as we wanted to; he kept returning with coffee and water; and he said, "We consider it an honor that you would choose Trio as a place to spend time with friends." My fiancee had the braised short ribs which were unbelievably good while I had the calamari appetizer and a Moroccan Pizza. The Moroccan Pizza was one of the best gourmet pizzas I have ever had. For dessert, we shared the flourless chocolate cake which was topped with chocolate mousse and a raspberry ganache that was so rich we both agreed it was almost as good as sex. The service was very good for a crowded restaurant on a Saturday night and with dinner, drinks and tip we got out of there for around 80 dollars. This past Friday everything was perfect but I ordered the smoked salmon pizza and to be honest it was an arugula pizza! There was a very small amount of smoked salmon and a huge amount of arugula which I wanted just the opposite! I was sort of taken aback but I was with my friend on her birthday and I didn't want to ruin the moment by complaining about the food!
