Diner Reviews
  • "We had a lovely lunch overlooking the pond. The service was very good and I really enjoyed my fish sandwich special and my friend had the soup special and half a sandwich. It got a little noisy when a tour group arrived and were seated next to us but it is season around her and that is what happens."

  • "We went to Treviso before a performance at the Asolo Theater and found that they had the routine down perfectly. We arrived a little after 6 and ordered drinks and appetizers, plus entrees and coffee. Everything (besides being delicious) was timed out perfectly so that we were never rushed and finished paying the bill around 7:40. Very relaxing. We'll go there every time we have tickets to the Asolo. We ate there earlier for lunch one time while spending the day at the Ringling Museum, and that too was a very pleasant experience."

  • "My wife and I had a very enjoyable experience sitting outside beside the pond and fountain. My grilled mahi-mahi sandwich was delicious and my wife enjoyed the chicken pecan salad. The service was excellent. We shall return."

  • "We find the Treviso a delightful spot for dinner before events at the Asolo Theatre a/k/a FSU Center. The food is usually delicious and the view of the grounds of the Ringling Museum makes the occasion particularly special."

  • "The evening we dined at Ttreviso, the crowd was huge, and the noise level almost unbearable."

  • "It's so sad that the food emporium in Sarasota's premier attraction is mediocre. Cafeteria style seating, untrained and not terribly interested waitstaff are indicative of the lack of execution. They opened up a door behind us. It was a very windy damp day, and when I requested they close it, i got a reluctant okay. The food, which is billed as Italian, Continental, American is just okay. After all, what is Italian, Continental, American? Plus it's pricey for what you get. But their audience is captive."

  • "Good if going to the theater or a late day at the museum"

  • "It's hard to judge a restaurant on 1 visit and we chose an evening when another event was happening at the Ringling so it was very busy. We were happy to be seated as we two other times made reservations at Treviso at arrived with confirmations only to find the place closed. It took a long time to be seated so we were left standing at the desk with no explanation. Water service was prompt but table service was slow and when food arrived, we had to ask for silverware. Shared truffled fires were very greasy but tasted good. All five of us thought the food was just average and a little pricey for the quality. We came for dinner. We tried. Maybe lunch would be a better second visit."

  • "We came during lunch so it was quite busy. Food was great and server very professional. Lots of tables were not cleaned off so it gave the restaurant a dirty kind of feel. Not sure I need to go back."

  • "My friend ordered something that she thought was salad but it was not salad but chicken salad served over a toast. Bad description. It was not good at all. Nice place to sit but food was not good and way over-priced."

  • "The scallops and bacon squash risotto were top notch. The service we received was fabulous. One of our party was late due to traffic. The staff knew we had tickets to a play & went out of their way to make sure our food arrived with enough time for us to enjoy it. Other wait staff and the hostess, as well as our assigned server, went to great lengths to make our dining experience enjoyable."

  • "This restaurant is a delightful choice for a meal, right on the Ringling grounds. Food varies but is fairly good, service varies but is prompt when the restaurant isn't packed, and the ambience is great, especially if you're outdoors on the deck, looking at the grounds."

  • "Convenient to dine before a show at the Asolo Theater.Outdoor dining available, where seating is austere.Service and food was good, and will dine again, when I have a theater event at the Asolo,a one minute walk.,"

  • "We ate at Treviso on my sisters recommendation before we walked around the Ringling grounds. We had the special which was grilled Grouper and unfortunately it was dry. The waiter was kind Enough to make an adjustment to our bill. The restaurant was Extremely busy, the atmosphere was nice, I would try it again."

  • "for lunch it was too expensive and that could be why the restaurant was empty inside. I would not recommend this restaurant because of the prices on entrees because there are lots of places in the area that has comparable food."

  • "This was a great restaurant to go to before attending a play at the theatre. The food was good and although the waiter was very friendly, we did feel rushed throughout the meal."

  • "Healthy food options and great outdoor ambience at this museum restaurant where our only disappointment was the wine (they had run out of 3 on their list). Reservations definitely a good idea."

  • "We eat here often before going to the theatre at the Asolo! Service and food was not as good as usual. Every place is bound to be off - from time to time. Seated ten minutes before server came to table! Servers were working at an hectic pace! Might suggest that the manager bring in more help when he knows he is booked at maximum level. Food came out warm/ not hot - suggesting that food was not immediately brought out! One of glasses for water had crack down side! There were no offers of 'refreshed' drinks! Just an off night - because usually quite good!"

  • "The food is just about ok. The staff are kind and helpful and if you have tix for a play or ballet at Ringling..... then the location is perfect! Don 't expect gourmet - it's not!"

  • "I have been to Treviso several times but this is the first time that I was disappointed in the food. It may be a one time event but I was truly disappointed. The bruschetta was awful and the roast vegetable cobb salad was fair and way over priced for the small amount of vega. I will go back because I really like this restaurant. Hoping it was a one time miss."

  • "This is the 3rd time we've been to the restaurant. The other 2 times were enjoyable. Food was good and service was excellent. We were disappointed on this occasion. Service was slow, took 10 minutes before a waitress came around to the table. One meal was ordered incorrectly by the waitress. She apologized but it took another 10 minutes to receive. We also had to wait for bread at the table as it was still "baking" in the oven. The restaurant seemed to be short staffed. Hope these comments help."

  • "After a previous great service when dining a few years ago, I was surprised to be pretty much ignored. It appeared that the waitress had tables both inside and outside. At one point another waitress came up to my table and wanted to be sure she wasn't our waitress. Definitely they need to restructure the table assignments. I don't know if the fact it was two women this time instead of two couples changed this waitress view of serving us. She was the same waitress we had two years ago and had a great experience. The food and presentation was excellent."

  • "Great restaurant in a museum complex. The food is excellent. The casual atmosphere is not designed for lingering and the noise level is quite high. I would not choose to go there unless visiting the museum but while there it is wonderful."

  • "Treviso said they had no record of our online reservation when we showed up at the scheduled time (Saturday 2/22 at 5:45 PM; table of 3; Paul Lewis), so they had to seat us outside."

  • "We love Treviso's. Delicious food, service and ambiance plus the added convenience of being able to walk to the Asolo Theater makes it our "go-to" restaurant before the theater. Love it for lunch as well."

  • "We have been dining at the restaurant for several years prior to going to the theater and make reservations a day or two earlier. Most times when we arrive we observe that a table has not been set aside for us and the staff scramble to set up a table to accommodate the five of us. On Thursday we were forced to sit a around two small table that could not even be aliened with no room to move our chairs back. The only thing you have going for you is location and service."

  • "Our server Yvonne was professional and the pace nicely paced.. But the hostess could show some enthusiasm for her job with a smile and a greeting ! We enjoyed our while bean soup, Fish, Gnocchi, and the Scallops were outstanding! My fish was beautifully cooked but the potato au gratin overwhelmed the the mild and light fish and competed with the mushroom ragu. Wish they offered Panna Cotta with fresh fruit, for dessert. The tiramisu is too sweet and I prefer the original Travasiano recipe made with egg yolks, egg whites, sugar and mascarpone cheese and easy on the sugar. I will not order it again. The better options for dessert are the Mango Torta or the Panatonne Bread Pudding, minus the whipped cream from a spray can."
