Diner Reviews
  • "Several years ago, Treviso was good. Now, the food looks like it is pre made. My marinara sauce looked like the tomatoes were opened out of a can."

  • "A nice place to dine. Food and prices are very good especially when special is running. We have dined there frequently prior to theatre and museum events."

  • "Our visit to Treviso for an early dinner before viewing an exhibit at the museum was a pleasant surprise! Ambience of restuarant and view of pond was relaxing and allowed our party of four to talk and enjoy our meal. Service was outstanding. The biggest surprise was their fixed price meal for two, something I do not usually like in restuarants. The entree choices were varied enough for allowing you "real" choices for your meal and the quality of the meal was exceptional. Overall we feel we found a gem right in our neighborhood !"

  • "I had family from from out of town and we spent the day at the Museum. The restaurant exceeded our expectations for a dining experience. The service was outstanding as was the food. We ordered a variety of entrees and all were presented beautifully and were delicious. I will definitely recommend it to friends and will return often."

  • "Perfect for pre-performance dinners, also a nice place for lunch, whether or not you plan to visit the Ringling Museum."

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed Treviso's Summer Special! Beautiful setting, top-notch service from Gina!"

  • "summer special at $45 includes a bottle of wine, salad, entree and dessert FOR 2. a great summer special but they were out of salmon which is the entree i would have ordered. it was quiet because it was a slow nite. wife had the 4 oz filet which was perfectly cooked and wonderful"

  • "Convenient for museum or Asolo. Good value in special summer dinner for 2."
    Dined on 7/10/2014
  • "The summer special menu was missing the tuna entree on our recent visit. The wide food choice pleased everyone in our group. The noise level was really high when the dining room became full. Treviso is a great value in a unique setting."
    Dined on 7/5/2014
  • "perfect for our lunch meeting. Service much improved since last visit."
    Dined on 7/3/2014
  • "This is a perfect place for lunch. Their menu is perfect for my moderate appetite and the food is varied and very well prepared. The service is excellent and you will never have to ask for someone to help you. The atmosphere is great at the windows inside because you are looking at a garden area in front of the museum. This is truly a great location to have lunch!"

  • "Their summer special, two dinners plus a bottle of wine, is a good deal. Zucchini Parmesan very good, pork a little tough."
    Dined on 6/27/2014
  • "We were delighted with the summer special dinner menu - good food, good choices, pleasant service. Only problem here is the noise level when the restaurant is full ... and its too warm to dine outside."
    Dined on 6/26/2014
  • "Salads were simple but tasty, filet mignon tender and flavorful, mahi mahi moist and tasty, key lime pie delicious. The summer 3 course special including wine was an exceptional value. I will come again."
    Dined on 6/24/2014
  • "Every summer, I've used this restaurant during the summer for their full dinner special several times each year. Every year it's been great until this year. The portions have shrunk, the chef must be on vacation, the wine selections reduced, no choice of desert, but the price increased 15%. You don't get many chances in Sarasota where there's no shortage of quality restaurants. This one has been scratched off the list."
    Dined on 6/21/2014
  • "Will be returning soon, talked to chef and he said email ahead for Ahi tuna, which we will do"
    Dined on 6/20/2014
  • "Once again we enjoyed a delightful late lunch on Treviso's patio! Food, service, ambience...all perfect! A suggestion, patio chairs are quite uncomfortable, maybe some padding would help!"
    Dined on 6/16/2014
  • "I often go to Treviso before a performance at the Asolo. However, my last visit proved very disappointing. The two dinners for $44 was a great idea, but the problem was the meal. I had the mahi mahi and my husband ordered the chicken saltimbocca. Both lacked any distinctive flavor in fact, they tasted the same. Moreover, we had to request extra dressing for the salad as it was very dry. The dinners were nondescript. On a positive note, the service was excellent and the wine was fine."

  • "Excellent pretheater choice. Portions are just right. Summer special is a very good deal. Serving staff are friendly and attentive."
    Dined on 6/10/2014
  • "I've always loved Treviso for a pre-show dinner. It is convenient, close and the food was decent. However, the last meal we had there was terrible! So terrible that I won't go back and I will certainly tell others to think twice before going. The mashed potatoes were tepid and tasted like they were 3 days old and reheated. The Brussels sprouts were raw. The mahi, crab cake, and steak were alright. Service was efficient but with a little attitude. All in all not a good experience."

  • "It was a wonderful dining experience, great food, service and ambience."

  • "Summers are terrific at Treviso, especially before a show at Asolo or The Ringling. Special price-fixed menu for two (reasonably priced) has good range of entrees, plus bottle of wine, soup or salad, and desert. Well done!"

  • "This is a charming restaurant on the grounds of the Ringling museum and would be a great place to dine after touring the museum."
    Dined on 6/5/2014
  • "Once again our service was excellent as performed by our waiter, Alvin. The dinner menu didn't offer the variety that I enjoy when we lunch at Treviso. The bottle of Pinot Noir that came with our special dinners was excellent!"
    Dined on 5/31/2014
  • "We are (were) regular clients. We have dinned and lunched there many times. Lately we have found our experiences with the restaurant to be a disappointment. We ordered from the so called "special menu", the chicken was overcooked, the mashed potatoes tasted like "instant mashed" and the cauliflower was undercooked, the pasta was as bad. We order Merlot, and they brought us Cavernet Sauvignon, since it was already opened we did not want to send it back. The hostess was borderline rude when we requested outside table and told us "do you know that is raining outside"?, treating us like real morons. This is the third time we had a bad experience in Treviso. We have decided not to give them the benefit of the doubt any longer."

  • "A group of women dined in your restaurant after a wonderful musical at the Asolo. The atmosphere was bright and inviting. We had great service and the food was fabulous."
    Dined on 5/31/2014
  • "We were seated right at our reservation time at a great table by the window. Lydia, our waitress, was excellent, very personable and efficient. We took advantage of their special two dinners for $45.00, and it was a great value. The food was very tasty and the wine was delicious, so a good time was had by all! I'm sure we'll be back there a couple more times this summer."
    Dined on 5/31/2014
  • "Food was very good and with excellent presentation. Proficient service. Good menu and liked the Summer special."
    Dined on 5/30/2014
  • "We picked this restaurant because of it's proximity to the Asolo Theater. It was very noisy which created inability to hear those at our table of four. The soup was good and the salad unimpressive. Entree's were OK. Apple Dumplings were hot or cold and stale or burned. Requested water refills were acknowledged, but never delivered. We felt rushed until check out time and then waited for billing. Not nearly as good as it could be overall."
    Dined on 5/24/2014
  • "Service was prompt. Food was good. Atmosphere was very fine. Also very close to the Asolo Theater. Also, our waiter, Eddy, was very good."
    Dined on 5/17/2014
  • "Website menu reviewed before making reservation - actual menu changed and more expensive. First choice requested - did not have it Second choice - small serving for the price - Not enough variety to choose from Likely would not eat here again - thought it would be convenient as attending the theatre"

  • "This is a great place to dine before attending any one of three theaters on the Ringling Museum grounds. "

  • "I was pleasantly surprised, having dined previously prior to evening concerts, to find the luncheon menu more to my liking. The food was excellent and quite creative, and our waiter, Alvin, delightful. The other employees who provided service were helpful and pleasant. "

  • "We recently had a lunch on Treviso's outside patio and had a most enjoyable dining experience. Good food, scenic view, quiet ambience."
    Dined on 5/4/2014
  • "We sat on the patio and watched the rain pour down. But it didn't dampen our spirits. The menu offered so many appealing choices we found it hard to decide, and when our lunches came, we were not disappointed. The food was moderately inventive and very tasty. The service was on the plus side of adequate. All in all, we enjoyed our experience, and my friend and I agreed that we'd both choose to come back. "

  • "Treviso is there for the Ringling Museum and Asolo Theatre crowd. If you're attending either of those venues, this is a good place for lunch, but I don't recommend dinner."
    Dined on 5/2/2014
  • "As this was my first time dining at Treviso I was expecting something a little more elegant based on the location and the reviews I had read. I chose this venue for my wedding anniversary dinner before the show. I was somewhat disappointed by the ambience upon walking in to the facility. The restaurant was smaller than I had envisioned and somewhat plain in appearance. On a more positive note, the service was very good and the food was excellent. Though the portions were somewhat small, the presentation of the entre was good and the preparation was wonderful. The texture of the filet as well as the flavor was excellent. I would heartily recommend Treviso as a more casual dinning experience. Compliments to the chef! "

  • "In the past I have been to Treviso several times and enjoyed the experience. Always considered it a classy place and took two friends for a birthday luncheon. Our server was not very attentive. It was obvious that she wanted to turn the table over as quickly as possible. We had to call her over for drink refills and even then she brought iced tea to my friend who was drinking diet coke. My meal was a burger that I asked to be medium. It came very well done and dry. The fries were only warm at best. Disappointedly, it seems that the standard of service has dropped since I was last at this restaurant. My friends do not want to return either. "

  • "A surprisingly beautiful setting for brunch/lunch - at Treviso on the outdoor porch overlooking the pond and grounds of the Ringling Museum. Good parking, good food, wonderful ambience, and time for a quiet conversation. Highly recommended for your next friends or family get together."
